The Space

We are nestled on the side of Kilauea Volcano and located near Volcano National Park and the Pu'u O'o Vent, from which the lava is currently flowing. Our property is in the Rainforest on 3 acres full of indigenous Ohia trees, fern trees and many other native plants. The Cottage is a two bedroom, one bath house with full kitchen, dining room and living room. There is an attached and fully equipt Yoga Studio for guests to use. We work with our environment, living close to the land by incorporating solar power, gardening, farming and permaculture. Public transportation, The Hale On Bus, drops and picks up at the top of our subdivision and travels around the Island. We are excited to have you as our guest and extend a warm Aloha to you during your stay on the magical Island of Hawaii. Wifi Available!

Check In
  • The difficulties I had with staying with Rachel was finding her location. Granted she was actually not available then it was a friend that was operating her establishment in her absence. The real difficulty was that when I pulled into a neighbors yard thinking it was hers I was immediately verbally accosted which I found quite distressing.

When I attempted to discuss this with the acting host she continued to deny that this is actually an issue.
Finding the location was also an issue in that the "long way around" was provided in the directions which resulted in my arriving ultimately in the dark

  • Very much enjoyed my stay at the cottage. It is off-grid, but does not lack modern convienence. There were hot showers, lighting, refrigeration, a well appointed kitchen. The host was cordial and understanding even of my late check-in. I wish I had more of an opportunity to take in the permaculture garden and yoga studio. Even so, the fruiting bananas and lilikoi were hard to miss. It was a beautiful property and I would not hesitate to stay there again. A tad off the beaten path, but that's where you often find the really interesting places.

  • What an amazing location, it is absolutely beautiful. We really liked the place, beautiful garden and a lovely home. Nice quiet neighborhood that is off the beaten path. It is close to Volcano Park and also a short drive to Hilo.
