A large book-lined bedroom with a TV/reading area by two south facing windows looking on to the south garden.
The second room with a skylight and a Dutch door and more windows overlooking the garden is light and often sun flooded and features a combination breakfast bar and office area complete with Guest WiFi. Additionally, there is a washer/dryer exclusively for guest use as part of this room.
Reviews from previous Guests all mention how quiet the Garden Apartment is and how they found it to be a refuge from a busy day of either business activities or sight seeing.
Excellent weather. Walk to downtown or to the best coffee houses in North Beach or many of the best restaurants from this location. There is a Zagat Guide available for reference.
Public transportation -- including the famous Cable Car line -- is just a few blocks away.
Step outside on to the street, and you will have a world class view of San Francisco Bay, including Alcatraz, and very likely one or more large cruise ships docked below on the Bay.
Breakfast provisions are provided and will include organic fruit juice, ground coffee, Half & Half, organic bananas, and usually gluten-free scones. A special dietary request will be honored - if possible.
South facing Garden just off Apt. is for the exclusive enjoyment of Airbnb guests.
I interact with Guests as much as they require. Some guests are totally self sufficient while others like helpful suggestions on where to dine, etc.
There is quite a bit of info in the Apt. on what to do, where to go -- some of which has been left by previous guests as recommendations.
Telegraph Hill enjoys some of the best views and some of the best weather SF offers. From this location one can walk to many of the iconic SF sights. Coit Tower is practically in the backyard.
As is North Beach, Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39 and The Embarcadero. The well known Ferry Building on the Embarcadero is only a 20 minute walk.
Chinatown and even our fine shopping district, Union Square, is not more than a 20 to 30 minute walk from the Garden Apt.
The Powell St. Cable Car is a few blocks away and there are several bus lines in North Beach. But we now have taxi cab alternatives such as Uber, Lyft and Sidecar that will pick you up and drive you wherever you need to go.
This is a walking City and there is no better place from which to start out than from the Garden Apt.
There are dozens of restaurants to walk to in any direction.

I can't say enough about this gorgeous space. Kaye is such a sweet heart, and her garden view room was like something out of Better Homes and Gardens. I slept fabulously, amongst the wonderful books and artwork, not to mention the fresh daphne that Kaye put next to the bed, which is my favorite flower on earth. Every possible thing you could want is there. Shower presser is great. Location is super safe. Honestly, it's my new favorite home away from home in San Francisco. A supreme garden view (magical oasis), and then Bay view when you are departing. Easy walk to Fisherman's Wharf and the financial district! I LOVE this place and I love Kaye!
We had a wonderful stay. This is a charming place in a great location and Kaye was extremely nice and responsive when we had any questions or needs. I would highly recommend this place!
Kaye was a great host, very helpful and caring. Her garden apt is lovely and very well located, the view from the street is amazing. It felt like at home, with good working facilities for those who work remotely. I encourage all travelers to visit Garden Apt.
Kaye was a lovely host! I felt really taken care of through out the whole visit. The apartment was clean, bed was comfortable, fridge filled with dairy and hands down the best cinnamon bread I've ever had. The garden is a lovely place and the location of the apartment superb. I would love to come back and recommend Kaye as a host. Thank you Kaye!
It was a great pleasure to stay at Kaye's appartement! The neighborhood is fantastic and just a few steps away from Fisherman's Wharf and to the next Cable Car station. The appartement is lovely decorated and we had everything we needed. Even there was a lot of delicous food in the fridge and the best scones I've ever had. We would highly recommend this place and love to stay there again!!!
Had a wonderful stay in Kaye's lovely apartment. It is truly peaceful and that combined with a very comfortable bed make for an amazing nights sleep. The location is excellent and Kaye goes above and beyond with providing info on everything from restaurants to delivery services. I was delighted by the good coffee, selection of tea, yogurt, fruit and scones that she so generously had on hand for me. I highly recommend this place for business travelers tired of hotels as well as vacationers.
The location is fantastic, the apartment is great (with a lovely garden!) and Kaye is super-nice... highly recommended!!
My husband and I stayed in Kaye's garden apartment the week between Christmas and New Years, and found it suited our needs perfectly. The location is great, in a residential area yet within walking distance of most everything, and the view from outside is spectacular. The apartment itself is large and well lit with a lovely aspect overlooking the private garden, and situated at the rear of the house it is very quiet. The space is essentially divided in half, with the bedroom/ sitting room separated by two french doors from the kitchen/work area, making it possible for my husband to work early in the morning while I slept undisturbed. Kaye is a wonderfully kind host, providing a sumptuous breakfast for us despite our restrictive diets, and catering to our needs without being intrusive. We would happily stay at Kaye's garden apartment again.
Kaye's place was just as described, and a perfect retreat for our vacation! Kaye was fantastic, welcoming us on arrival and accessible, as needed throughout our eight-day stay. The apartment is lovely, quiet and cozy, overlooking the well-manicured backyard/garden. We were very appreciative of the delicious scones and fresh San Francisco sourdough baguette she left us, along with a delicious assortment of teas and coffee. The full size refrigerator was useful for storing leftovers throughout our stay. We were provided plenty of storage space in the wardrobe and dresser, and the apartment was stocked with full sized toiletries like shampoo, conditioner and body wash. The location was great; near public transportation and within walking distance to shopping, dining and the park. We were pleasantly surprised to hear the Pier 39 sea lions right outside the apartment, which is located just steps away from views of the Bay Bridge & Ferry Building/Embarcadero. Overall, we were very pleased we stayed here.
Lovely stay at the very top of Telegraph Hill. Thanks to Kaye for a great visit, world-class coffee, and a very easy visit. We'll be back someday soon!
