Locaton, location! Come and share the ambiance in this beautifully restored 1887 Queen Anne. This National Landmark home is only 9 blocks from Downtown. Close to everything, very walkable and perfect for a new Denver visiter.
Hi Folks! Welcome to the “Osmyn Parker House”!
I have lovingly restored this large old 1887 Queen Anne and it has been featured in numerous newspaper articles as well as being the center piece for several annual Historic Denver house tours. Being the sole resident of this grand old house, only 9 blocks from the center of the city, I love sharing it with interesting travelers!!!
This beautiful home lies in the the heart of the San Rafael Historic district, one of Denver's greatest historic neighborhoods close to downtown, City Park, 17th Avenue Restaurant Row and so much more. Relax outside on our beautiful and peaceful back patio or jump on a bike (the Denver B-Cycle station is only two blocks away!) and tour around Denver. You are welcome to use the kitchen, living and dining as well.
While things are very "walkable", there is also a bus stop just across the street or a cab ride to the convention center (center of downtown) is only $6-8 in inclement weather.
Since we are opening up our home and our lives to you we would greatly appreciate it if you would make sure that your profile is filled out before you submit a request.
This is a NO SMOKING home.
Share this beautiful home with me ... the dining room, living room, kitchen and peaceful backyard is yours to use. This is a very social household, so don't be surprised to find friends or neighbors in the back yard to join for a glass of wine. Please feel free to come and go as you please. I am very sociable but do not expect that you must be. Ask as many questions as you like, join for a glass of wine or be as private as you wish. You will have a bath across the hall that is shared with a single room if it is occupied by a guest. I am not a Bed and Breakfast and although there will surely be tea and coffee on hand, please expect to take care of yourself for all of your meals. Also, since I am opening up my home and and life to you I would greatly appreciate it if you would make sure that your profile is filled out before you submit a request.
This is a beautiful home and our room was quiet and very comfortable. Jim's only request was that we make ourselves completely at home.
Jim is very knowledgeable about the area and the city, offering suggestions for places to eat, visit etc. We would definitely stay there again.
A simply delightful experience. Jim is a gracious host and an interesting person to talk to. We enjoyed both the conversation and the wine! The house is delicate and stylish in an old fashioned way that we absolutely loved. If you pass through Denver and have an affection for architecture and interior design you will enjoy Jim's place. Highly recommended.
I had a delightful experience both meeting Jim and staying at his beautiful home. The home is is pristine condition and is truly one of a kind. Thank you, Jim, for making my stay enjoyable. I look forward to staying in touch.
James was just great, the house was also great, James let us have the Pent House Suite, which made our stay even better than expected. The area is not really that nice, day time no problems, I would not be willing to walk at night. If you have a car there is no problem at all. I recommend it .
Jack Chavez and his wife were very nice folks! I am very disappointed that they felt less than comfortable in this beautiful old historic neighborhood. This is a first for me, for 3 1/2 yrs guests have found it very safe and walkable day and night. Please read any of 100+ reviews. There is some level of diversity to be expected in any vibrant urban environment, heh? :)
Jack, thanks for staying here in any case, it was nice to meet you! :)
Cheers, Jim Wiseman
Jim was a great host! His home is absolutely beautiful and located walking distance to a ton of cool places in Denver. Jim was very warm and welcoming and provided me with pamphlets and a map of the area. He is very laid back and able to provide me with a lot of local tips. A really great place to stay!
Jim was great, he introduced me to his family and friends, offered wine, coffee, tea and cereal and a welcoming place to stay. Jim wanted his guest to feel like home and indeed home it was. The home was truly a work of art and you could tell it was well kept up with. I couldn't have asked for a better place and host for a first time Airbnb user. I will definitely swing by because i feel that welcome the next time I am in Denver.
Jim made me feel very welcome from the start and provided all the information I needed about the house, the neighborhood and the city. I came and went very freely and flexibly, yet he was always accessible and responsive by phone/text if I needed anything. The house is in a good location and I walked to and from the downtown Denver area (about 20 minutes one way) every day. He provided good local area insights and I walked to one of the nearby restaurants he had recommended one night and it was great. Jim is super friendly and accommodating. This is a great place to stay in Denver!

Hi folks, I am an early adopter of "airbnb". I have not used it for travel as much as I would like but have been hosting and enjoying it since summer, 2011. My active life style includes being a ski instructor in Vail, tennis, sailing when I make the time, motorcycle travel (having done of lot of solo stuff in Mexico), etc. Intellectually curious and I like keeping up with global happenings. Travel style? Casual, low maintenance and self sufficient, enjoy the local color, been half way around the planet. Have owned my own company for over three decades being involved in urban redevelopment and historic restoration. Cheers!
