In an exceptional setting, you have a 270° panoramic view between the ocean and nature. You will dive on Motu Nono, the port of Taravao, the mountains of the east coast of Tahiti, the surf beach of Pueu and its village. From July to November you will observe the whales, enjoying the calm and the east trade winds.
An ideal location to recharge your batteries and visit the peninsula (Diving, hiking, Belvedere view, Tautira village and Teahupoo 2024 Olympic surf spot)
The space
Paradise at the end of the track.
Located on the east coast of the peninsula in Maraeapai, Cathy and Thierry's villa is a unique property in terms of its history and design, given its geographical location. We wanted to design a “home for living” that is firmly in step with the times: comfortable, aesthetically pleasing, and environmentally friendly. To achieve this, we did not shy away from obstacles, not even the one related to the distance from Papeete.
A simple place, designed by architect Laure Cumin, who aimed to create a traditional faré (traditional Polynesian house) and integrate it into the 3,500 m² (8.6 acre) plot, while also providing natural air conditioning.
It consists of a fully equipped kitchen, a living room with TV and Netflix, and 2 bedrooms with walk-in closets.
You will also have free Wi-Fi.
On the ground floor, in the Natura bedroom, there is a 160 × 200 cm double bed and a 100 × 200 cm single bed, with a toilet and a double-sink bathroom with a walk-in shower opening onto the garden. It has a private terrace.
Upstairs, there is a master suite with a 180 x 200 cm king-size bed, a work area with ocean views, a bathroom with a large walk-in shower overlooking the garden, and a separate toilet. It has a private terrace with 2 deckchairs, 2 chairs, and a small round table to enjoy the panoramic view.
In the center of the house, there is a large 70-m² patio, with a guest toilet, where you can enjoy meals in the shade and protected from the weather.
You will have a covered garage for 2 cars and an outdoor laundry room with a washing machine and clothesline.
Guest access
You will have private access to your bedroom, bathroom, toilet and terrace.
You will have common access to the patio, living room/kitchen, laundry, garage and garden
During your stay
We will be available throughout the stay at the villa and a welcome cocktail with or without alcohol will be served.
We will welcome you at the Carrefour Taravao parking lot (1 hour from Tahiti-Fa'a Airport), or you can shop before your stay at the Villa. Allow 30 minutes by the magnificent forest road leading to Mareaapai via the Belvedere or ranch road. In the last kilometer, the road becomes a track and therefore requires an enhanced vehicle or SUV (e.g. Renault Kwid, Duster or Sandero) without necessarily being a 4X4.
Breakfasts will be included and served to you.
If you want a meal in the evening, we will offer to prepare, according to your choice, Tahitian raw fish, tuna sashimi, a tuna skewer accompanied by rice, a steak or fried chicken. For dessert, yogurt, fruit or dessert of the day for 1,950 XPF in total.
To benefit from natural air conditioning, the roof was made of shingles (wooden tiles). For those who are afraid to share their room with a gecko or insects, each bed has its own mosquito net. You have mosquito coils at your disposal.
For sensitive travelers, you'll find a tropical force spray in Polynesian stores.
Other things to note
The beds will be made upon arrival and towels will be provided.
You will have a standing fan in your room

Where you’ll be
Windward Islands, French Polynesia
Located in Afaahiti, after crossing the Taravao Plateau agricultural estate,on the Marumaruatua plateau at an altitude of 200 m, you have panoramic views of the motu Nono, the port of Faratea, the mountain range of the east coast of Tahiti, for whale watching from July to November.
At the end of the end, with this feeling of being at the level of water, we remain suspended for the pleasure of contemplation. The panorama is there, the breeze is always light, the lagoon nearby, the living reef, and you can finally find a form of inner peace. “It's the void of the mind!”
It's a break between dream and reality or after dark, enthusiasts will be able to observe the moon and the stars.
You will wake up with a great sunrise , and birdsong.

As lovers of Polynesia, and following our favorite spot on the Tahiti peninsula, we decided to have an architect build a traditional wooden villa for our vacations and our retirement. We want to share this panoramic view and the calm and serenity of this place with Airbnb members.
