2020 South Congress GREAT location

Apartment - Entire home/apt · South Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78704, United States

The Space

This small well laid out space is actually *on* South Congress near the 24 hr Magnolia Cafe. Very convenient to the neighborhood but not too noisy because it is at the very south end of all the excitement and it is in Building 3 which is the second one back from the street next to the pool (You can still see S Congress from your 3rd floor patio, but it is a comfortable distance)

It can comfortably sleep 1 or 2 in the bedroom area but also includes a small couch which can fold out to a small bed, and an air mattress which could sleep 2 more. 4-5 people is crowded for this space, but still possible and people have found this desirable in the past for being close to SXSW, ACL and other festivals.

Hardwood floors, granite countertops, full kitchen. Simple, comfortable minimal space. These pictures are of an identical unit - the furnishings will be a bit different in the space I am renting out, but the basics are the same. All units were remodeled the same way and at the same time.

Rather than describe the neighborhood myself, look at what airbnb has to say about it here!: (https://www.airbnb.com/locations/austin/south-congress). All of the pictures on that page are not only taken in the South Congress area but are actually on South Congress as is this condo!

Parking for the condo is on the street, and there is always a place to park in my experience. For transit, if you are in the neighborhood, just walk as everything is close! If going downtown, a taxi is probably most practical. Anywhere else, driving is best. There is a bus stop literally in front of the building if you would like to take the buses. Use (website hidden) maps to decide if the bus is practical for your needs - the buses range from absolutely perfect to impossible depending on what you need.

What I like most about my place is the location and that it is well laid out enough to feel like a bigger space. You'd never guess it is only 425 sq ft with a kitchen, living room, bedroom, walk in closet and full bathroom.

  • Justin was so wonderful and accommodating!

  • I was happy to stay at Justin's apt in SoCo for SXSW as it's in a great location first and foremost. It's technically walking distance to downtown, though it's easier to drive, take a bus or ride a bike. There's a bike share station a few blocks away, a 7-11 and gas station across the street, and a 24-hour cafe down the street. The place is tiny, and keep in mind that Justin actually lives there so it's not as spotless as a hotel. I brought a few scented candles to make it more like my own place.

Justin's a super nice guy and very responsive via email, phone and text. I asked him for a second set of keys and he had it done and delivered within hours. He also gave some good advice for stuff to do around the area and left food and drinks for us at the apartment. As location is most important when it comes to attending the convention, I'm going to try to get an even closer place to downtown next year. But I'm glad I was able to stay at Justin's this time. Thanks!

  • A friend and I stayed at Justin's for a week. Justin was very informative leaving suggestions on things to do around Austin. The place was spotless and clutter-free. Definitely recommend! South Congress is a hip and trendy area so you can walk to restaurants, shops, etc. Bus stops are along South Congress so it is fairly easy to get downtown but I recommend getting a bike since you can explore Austin freely.

  • Great central location, perfect size for a couple/short stay. Only thing I could critique was overall cleanliness seemed to be lacking. Overall everything was good.

  • This space is in an excellent location in SoCo, with fairly easy parking. And Justin is flexible with the check out time. Unfortunately, those are the only positive comments for my experience. The pics are not of the actual space!! They must be of a model unit. I arrived to what I felt was not a completely clean space. The bathroom was definitely not clean. And the bed looked barely made and I didnt find any clean sheets--I slept on top of the covers bc I just didn't think it was clean.
Although Justin is a nice person, I felt getting the check in info was extremely frustrating because he wouldnt respond, even when I left a voicemail. I had to continue to call until he finally answered, and then he acted surprised to hear from me or that I needed the information.

  • Great location! Clean and accessible place. Justin was so nice, easy going and communicative. This was my first AirBnb experience, and he made it so smooth and reliable.

  • A friend and I stayed at Justin's place, and it was a really great experience. I'd highly recommend staying there to other airbnb users. It was easy to get in touch with Justin, and the apartment and location are great (especially for the price).

About
When I had the chance to move to Austin I took it because Austin and I are a lot alike. I enjoy playing around town in a band, some rock climbing on the limestone formations around Austin and swimming in Barton Springs. I love the community I experience here in Austin and I'll happly call this home and home base for a lifetime. A coffeeshop is my living room and my neighbors are my family.
