Ann very helpful. AD IS MISLEADING Re: "APARTMENT" ,THOUGH. There is no stove, not even a toaster ,or hot plate. That should be made clear. One walks directly into a bathroom come kitchen affair. It is not an apartment. I needed an apartment because I was there for a whole month. Michael would not let me have a toaster, electric wok, plate to cook withm so I had to cook only with a microwave. I can't and won't eat prepared meals from a store. Also the WiFi was very unreliable.
I had a great stay! Ann and Michael are wonderful hosts. Ann went out of her way to accommodate my extra needs and was very kind in doing so. The location is perfect! Within walking distance of most things you would want to see in the area, as well as pickup/drop off for the airport shuttle. The room was clean and pretty. I would definitely stay there again.
Ann was a great host! She gave us a warm welcome at her charming place with tips of the area and the outer Victoria island. The special treat were delicious pastries from a Dutch bakery, fresh fruits and juice. We really enjoyed her hospitality!
The neighborhood she lives in is quiet and close enough to Victoria inner harbor and the beacon hill park. When I say close I mean it, it's less then 10min in both directions. A perfect place if you want some quite time, a safe neighborhood and a place were you can enjoy yourself, but you have to be okay with a house that is not as soundproof like other newer places, that's the only drawback I can think of, but she had to worry more about it than us. ;-)
If I will be in Victoria again and will do Airbnb, then she will be my first choice.
Thanks again Ann, it was a great time!
This is an absolutely charmer of a place. Totally Victorian charm. Located near Emily Carr's home and a quaint pub just 5 minutes away. It is a good location just about a 10 to 15 min walk to the harbor. The room is delightful with everything you need to nest comfortably. Ann and her son stay in the background but are available if you need anything. I would totally recommend this spot as a place to unwind and enjoy the city.
Ann welcomed us in the evening and oriented us to the area and our room. She informed us she would be available if we had any questions. We didn't see her after this as we did not have any questions. The room was clean and comfortable in a nice neighborhood. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Close to town center and bus service if needed. Pastries in frig were quite good and it was nice to have coffee, tea, juice, milk and cold cereal available in our room.
Ann is a nice person. The room and bed is comfortable and clean. Drink and cake in the refrigerator and fruit on the table. They also provide you coupon book. The house location is good. Easy to go any place and bus station. We will come back again.
Ann was wonderful and welcoming! We settled in and then took off to enjoy the city. Since we were visiting without car, location was important. Being on Government made for a not too long walk into the downtown area. On returning, we found a box of fresh and wonderful pastries and a fridge stocked with milks and juices. The living space is pretty basic, but clean and nice. We enjoyed the small deck in the mornings – great place to sit, visit, and enjoy a cup of tea (or in our case coffee). The house is only two blocks from Beacon Hill Park which is a peaceful place to play, walk, sit, and meditate. Know that there are currently two living spaces in the house, one with the deck in the front and one with the deck on the side of the house.
