Near the Sunday markets and the Nightcliff foreshore - this two bedroom apartment is a great place to chill out and enjoy the Top End. There is public transport nearby direct to Mindil beach and the city centre, or else if you have a car, there is a spare car spot and it's only about ten minutes into town.
Our unit is available from 11 April to 18 May and we are looking for longer term guests only -2 week minimum.
The main bedroom has a queen sized bed, robes, etc and opens up onto the balcony. The spare bedroom is fully furnished with a queen bed, built in robes, a desk and chair. Both bedrooms have air con and fans. Linen is provided.
There is one bathroom and a nice, fully-equipped kitchen.
The apartment opens to a sunny balcony with lots of pot plants, herbs and a statue of a buffalo. The occasional green tree frog likes to also chill out on the balcony late of an afternoon.
Sally was a very kind and most accommodating host. The flat is in a quiet and secure location, close to shopping and public transport. Sally generously shared her bike, her coffee machine and food and when my taxi to the airport did not show up she brilliantly came to the rescue -- if you want to stay outside the Darwin CBD this is a great alternative!
Sally is a wonderful, warm intelligent person, and you couldn't hope for a nicer host. She is very knowledgeable about the NT, and can help you out with any info regarding places to visit, and things to do and see. Her flat is a very nice, modern 2 bedroom flat in Coconut Grove - which is very well placed for both nearby facilities (supermarket 5 mins walk), and also access to the rest of Darwin. It is within walking distance of the Nightcliff gardens, walking/bike track and swimming pool. It is also within walking distance of the Sunday market at the Nightcliff village.
I thoroughly recommend staying with Sally for a great Darwin experience.
Sally is absolutely lovely lady and we enjoyed our stay here very much! Great to talk to, very open and generous with her home, couldnt recommend her more!
Sun everyday Temperature 33 celcius the fantastic tours
Thanks a lot Sally for your help in the beginning,
Very nice place, I was same at my home
we found sally's place a haven after a week travelling through nt's harsh but beautiful national parks. she went out of her way to help us in early in the day and offered plenty of assistance with locating activities around the city. sally's neighbourhood is pleasant and well connected to interesting tourist and local destinations. sally is enjoyable to be around and we would highly recommend travellers stay with her to have a more insightful stay in darwin. all the best with the crocs sally!
This was a nice apartment as described. I was a little concerned about the "shared Bathroom", but it worked out well. We were not home that much, as we did a lot of day trips and sight seeing, and Sally was not home a lot of the time,so we had a lot of privacy. When Sally was there she was friendly, and provided us with lots of good information on what to see and where to go. She even invited us to go to the Market with her one morning. She made us a nice dinner after returning from one of our trips, and it was delicious.
The bus stop was about 2 blocks away and the number 4 bus took us right to downtown. We rode it to the end of the line, and there was a tourist information building there where we booked our trips.
There was also a mall close by, and she was very close to the foreshore, where we walked to to take pictures of the stunning sunsets at night. It was a great place to walk and bike, with paved trails.
Sally does live in a gated community, which is wonderful for security, but it did not work that well with our arrival time, as she was working and we could not get a key to her place. She suggested we go to the Beachfront hotel and bar and wait for her to pick us up. The bar faced onto the beach, the food was good and priced well and the beer and wine was the best priced of anywhere we went in Darwin, but it was a 4 hour wait.
Bus service was excellent, and the people were so friendly in Darwin. We so enjoyed our stay, but it is hot! Laundry service worked well, and wi-fi connection was good.
Sally was a great host - wonderful clean apartment and Sally was very generous with allowing us to use the kitchen, laundry, etc. Sally gave great guidance on what to do in Darwin and we really enjoyed our stay. Would certainly recommend Sally's place to other Airbnb travellers.
We were warmy received and most comforably accommodated.
Thank you Sally, from Jenny and Ross
sally is a great host, very flexible. no-fuss person. kind and approachable. we felt very comfortable the moment we stepped into her apartment. and since we rented a car, it was pretty easy to find our way to her apartment (inclusive of darwin city map, that is). she recommended us some really beautiful natural parks to visit and she is well-updated with current events in the city. if you are looking for privacy, quiet and safety, her apartment fits the bill!
(thank you, sally!)
Sally and her accommodation are equally excellent.
As my first intro to the airbnb community, Sally is a great ambassador.
I really enjoyed her welcoming nature, her generosity and her relaxed nature. I would thoroughly recommend her place to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient room in Darwin.
