Lots of interesting places to eat cheaply and explore. 15 min walk to the shopping mall or Mt Eden Village where there are some great cafes and book stores. The Capitol Cinema is just up the road and show great art films with indoor rock climbing underneath. If you're into rugby Eden Park is the main stadium and that is also a 15 min walk. Interaction with Guests
I pretty much leave you to your privacy & sleep. But please come up to the house.
I love the vibrancy of Balmoral with its different ethnicity and places to eat, the cinema is a favourite of mine with it's arthouse films & wicked icecreams. Then there's Mt Eden with it's café culture & village shops. Everything I need is in the local area, it's only a very short drive to the shopping mall & supermarkets. Everymorning I go to my favourite French café for coffee and pastries to help me start the day!
From the Airport ask for the shuttle bus that goes down Dominion Rd and ask the driver to let you off at stop 8423. Peary Rd is opposite the bus stop and 136 is a 1 min walk from corner. That same bus stop will take you into the city . You can get a bus pass from the diary/shop

A lovely little place, the perfect base for anyone wanting a quiet refuge while visiting Auckland.
Lisa's cottage was private and quiet which was exactly what we required. The neighbourhood is quiet, close to shops, cafes and restaurants and seemed safe to wonder down Dominion Road at night. Thanks Lisa
We had a lovely stay at Lisa's place. The cottage is very cosy and very calm. We definitely recommend her place !
We stayed at Cosy Garden Cottage on arriving in Auckland. Lisa was very accommodating and let us leave our luggage with her while she sorted out the accommodation (other guests had stayed the night before us and we arrived about 8.30 am). The location was great as we caught the from the Airport shuttle bus to get there and this saved quite a few dollars. The bus drops off about 5 mins from Lisa's house. It was also very easy to get into town by bus ($8.00 one way). Unfortunately the wifi was not working during our stay but Lisa said she will contact the provider to sort this out. The Cottage is equipped with all the things you need during your stay.
Lisa made us welcome room was as described wardrobe needs to be cleared out TV put on wall to create more work top space.
Lovely place! Welcoming, laid back and comfy. We really recommend Lisa place!
The neighborhood was really close to the bus line and a ton of restaurants! It was in a lovely, quiet neighborhood, and Lisa supplied a ton of brochures and info on anything anyone could need (laundramat, bike and kayak rentals, takeout, bus schedules, etc) as well as an excellent assortment of coffee and teas. We arrived a little later than planned and she was flexible in making arrangements to get keys, etc. There was good light in the space and the wifi was a total perk! It was a little smaller than we expected (felt more like a studio than a cottage). There was so much to do in and around the area that it didn't matter so much! Parking was a breeze and it was an ideal place to call home for a few days. Would definitely recommend Lisa's AirBNB!
music booker for the King's Arms, Auckland's main original live music venue. Bikram yoga, hiking, mum to three busy little boys (Ryder, Tommy & Jackson). dance class... spending time at the beach with the kids.... training for a 100km . Which by the way I failed at! I dropped out after 18 hours, I was a gonner! Love, Family, Travel are what I live by. I get my inspiration from, books, music & yoga mainly.
I pretty much leave my guests alone, I think they like the privacy but by all means come and ask me anything
