The Space

Welcome to San Francisco!

This townhouse was built and designed by one of San Francisco's preeminent architects and features soaring 25' skylit ceilings. The home features a master bedroom on the top floor with a full bath including shower and tub. Also on the top floor is the "Vinyl Retreat" which is a separate loft area hosting a very comfy couch-bed to sleep additional guests. The main floor consists of the living room, dining area and kitchen. The living room is well outfitted with a working fireplace and 46" LCD TV hooked up to a pair of professional Genelec studio monitors for the ultimate home movie and music experience. There is a large sectional couch that can be used to sleep a fourth guest. The kitchen features a gas stove and is also outfitted with plenty of cook ware and utensils. Very high speed wireless (Comcast at 30MBs) is of course included.

The townhouse is located in the heart of the Lower Haight/NOPA area of San Francisco and is literally in the middle of the city. You are:
- 3 mins walk from the iconic "painted ladies" of Alamo Square
- 10 mins walk to the Castro
- 10 mins walk to Haight-Ashbury
- 15 mins walk to Golden Gate Park
- 15 mins walk to Mission Dolores

Food and dining options are very plentiful. Located within one block are two very high quality grocery stores - Faletti Foods and Bi-Rite Market. Just a few of the better SF restaurants that are within 5 mins walk are:
Bar Crudo
Uva Unoteca

Multiple public transportation points originate from this area including a direct line to the BART via several MUNI (N Judah line or the 21 Hayes ).

Street parking only but is not too bad especially if you park during the day.

  • Carlitos' townhouse was in an amazing setting in Lower Haight - a stones throw from cool bars, shops and restaurants in all directions. The house was very cool and comfortable with good facilities, as billed. And Carlitos himself hugely hospitable. Recommend for those who want to get under the skin of real SF hipster lifestyle.

  • Carlos (email hidden) in a great location, and he was an attentive host even though we never actually met him. He checked in with us regularly and had a very helpful friend there to let us in when we arrived and give us the low-down about the apartment and the area. Carlos left us wine and chocolate and a well-stocked kitchen, which made everything easier for us. The apartment is airy and bright, the bed was comfortable, and it was surprisingly quiet for the middle of the city. Our only problem was that our teenage daughter wanted to stay there permanently!

We walked a lot and used public transportation for two days, and it worked out very well. On the third day we had a rental car and managed to park it less than a block away, so altogether a convenient location. The neighborhood is full of nice places to eat and funky shops, and a very short walk to the Haight, the Panhandle, the Painted Ladies, and the Castro district.

  • Carlitos was a very thoughtful host and we would definitely stay there again. The townhouse was close to great breakfast bars, shops and walking distance of most touristy areas. Wifi was great and there was chocolate and wine to greet us.

  • First off, Carlos was amazing and really helpful even though we never met in person. I had the distinct impression that he truly wanted to make sure that we had a great time in San Francisco and to make the whole Air BnB experience as stress free and as positive as possible. This apartment is incredible too! All mod cons (Wifi, cooking and washing facilities, 2 really good stereo systems, enormous television) were all there for us as well. The apartment itself is not only spacious but gorgeously decorated and furnished and perfectly located to explore all of San Francisco. It's also set just off the street so it was quiet at night and the perfect retreat after a busy day. I cannot recommend Carlos or this apartment highly enough and if I come back to San Francisco, Carlos will almost certainly be my first point of call. I recommend him to you all without reservation. Thanks again Carlos!

  • Carlos' townhouse was amazing. Huge space with everything that we needed. The location was optimal to so many restaurants, coffee shops and the Bi-Rate market. Would definitely stay here again! Carlos' was very easy to communicate with and quick to respond.

  • Carlos, such a wonderful experience! The French wine you left us was immediately enjoyed by our group. Your townhouse was a wonderful, eclectic, and perfectly located home for our 2-day stay. You are a most gracious host, and thank you for answering every silly message (like how to work electronics for we 50-somethings)! Very kind neighbor (front, left) helped us with the gate, and we were able to load our car quickly and conveniently. (We are experienced with SF parking, but found spots easily within 1 block or two.) Kitchen stocked with everything we could have needed, and we were able to eat many meals at home. Oh! We loved the road map shower curtain! HaHa, awesome! We love SF and will be back! Muchas gracias por todo!

  • The place was beautiful, clean, and spacious - comfortable enough for four of us. Carlos even left us a bottle of wine! We used his keurig machine for coffee every morning and relaxed in the living room before going out on the town. Also, the place had plenty of body and hand towels for all four of us! Big plus! I would highly recommend everyone stay in this place if they want a good experience in SF.

  • Interesting neighbourhood with great local restaurants and wine bars (recommendations by Carlos very helpful). And space! After tight apartments in other cities it was great to have a full bathroom vanity, a dining table and two living spaces. Carlos is a welcoming and cooperative host.
