The Sunny Side was a great place to spend my moms birthday celebration. The town of Crested Butte itself was picturesque and located near a ton of outdoor activities. The cabin was beautifully restored and very comfortable. The kitchen was nice to cook in though all the upper lights for the kitchen went out and we weren't able to get them on by resetting the fuse box. It was never fixed, though we didn't take the time to tell management. Too busy enjoying ourselves.
The beds were comfortable but I should mention that the bunks in one if the rooms were miniature. Not quite long enough for an adult. One of our guests slept on the coach because if this.
During the summer there is a farmers market right outside the front door. And I mean RIGHT outside the front door. We enjoyed some of the local goodies but it would have been nice to expect this as it became fairly noisy in the early morning on Saturday.
My last comment is that the place is actually for sale and has a sign hanging outside. Because of this and it's location right off the main drag, tourists would often press their faces to the window to glimpse inside. Kind of awkward when your inside waving back at them. Some people even let their kids run up and down the porch and paused to take cute pictures in front if the door.
I. Summary, lovely place, great for family trips, not perfect if you are expecting privacy and seclusion in the mountains.
The house was awesome! It is misleading in the pics and when you actually drive up because it was originally built in 1892.... The owner did a great job with the property and the location is perfect.
