About this listing
Located between the Marais and Bastille, this loft is on the 3rd and last floor of an early 20st Century walk up building, in a very lively area, protected from the street noise by large courtyards, very quiet night and day.
You come in a very light and spacious loft; It has a large open space with high ceilings.
The fully equipped kitchen is open to a large living room. The windows are facing South.
Above the kitchen, a mezzanine-office lit by the windows of the dining room and three large skylights.
Continuing to the more private part:
a 1st bedroom, with dressing and bathroom ensuite, a queen size bed, facing South.
A 2nd bedroom with a queen size bed, facing East,
A 3rd bedroom with a twin bed and a mezzanine with a queen size bed, facing East.
The second bathroom and toilet are independent, like the laundry with a washing machine.
Located within a walking distance from the very center of Paris, you will find several grocery stores open very late in the evening, trendy cafes and bakeries. An open air market is taking place on the boulevard Richard Lenoir, on Thursday and Sunday mornings.
Situated a few steps away from the Place des Vosges, the Marais and the Place de la Bastille. You can also easily walk to the Ile de la Cité and Ile St Louis, on the banks of the Seine, and even to the Latin Quarter.
Direct underground line to the various railway stations:
line 5 directly to the railway stations Gare de l’Est, to the Gare du Nord and to the Gare d'Austerlitz.
From the Airports, I would recommend the shuttles if you are many, and the RER B to Gare du Nord if you are alone.
You are in a nice area close to the Opera Bastille, cinemas, the famous rue de Lappe, its restaurants and the legendary "Balajo".
The bar fashion, "Cafe de l’Industrie" is located in the same street, almost opposite our building.
In the summer the Place des Vosges will allow you to enjoy the rural atmosphere of picnics, lying on the grass ...
Monthly rate doesn't include utilities (gaz and electricity consumption).
The entire apartment has a waxed wooden floor. It is not varnished. Therefore take off the shoes inside the apt. Do not forget your slippers. Thanks
Please do not smoke inside the apt. It is a none smoking apt.
Leave the place pretty much the way you found it.
Barbara and her husband, Serge, were very helpful and polite. Booking was easy and arrival arrangements were clear. The house was so beautiful and did not disappoint!
It was warm when we were there but the open space of the flat and the number of windows always provided us with a breeze. So nice.
Thank you so much for having us.
We were six persons in the flat, and had a very good time in Paris. The apartment is located in a nice neighbourhood, with nice restaurants and shops nearby. The apartment has soul and is beautiful with tasteful furniture. We would love to come back.

We stayed in this apartment for a month in September. We are a family of five and there was plenty of space for all of us. The apartment location between the Bastille and Marais areas was very accessible to everywhere we visited, by walking or the metro. It is a safe and friendly area with plenty of shops, cafés, bistros and markets. There is a boulangerie, an organic grocer and a supermarket all very close by. Inside the apartment was beautiful. It is spacious, light, quiet and clean. A well cared for and well equipped apartment. It was very enjoyable to spend time there. Barbara and Serge are welcoming and caring hosts. We had a wonderful time and would definitely return.
Our family of six, including four children ages 10 - 14 had a great time in Barbara's beautiful Bastille loft. It's spacious, comfortable, and both the building and the neighborhood feel very much like authentic Paris. The kitchen is stocked to the brim with everything you'd need, and of course the kids loved both lofts (there's one in a bedroom and another over the kitchen). Barbara is a great host and was kind enough to meet us for our arrival very late at night, and come again the next day to make sure we were comfortable. The location is quiet and very safe, with easy access to shops & the Metro.
Thank you Barbara!
This lovely apartment is bright, airy and artfully decorated; very comfortable for our family of five. Our children (ages 9 - 14) enjoyed making the loft spaces their own during our month long stay. Barbara was very welcoming and kindly decorated the house with flowers for our arrival. There is an open air market twice a week just blocks away where you can buy meats, cheeses, fruits and vegetables. There are many cafes in the area and it is very easy to step out for lunch or a glass of wine. It was for us an overall pleasant experience.
Barbara was a wonderful host. The first night she bought soup and oysters, I made a salad and we had a feast. The apartment is large and is an unexpected architectural treasure at the top of the stairs. Two of my children and I enjoyed a week in the flat. It was close to food shops, restaurants and just a few stops from anywhere you might want to go in this fabulous city. I would recommend it highly.
Barbara is a warm and generous hostess and the flat is delightful and comfortable. It is spacious and well equipped with everything you need for an enjoyable 'home style' stay in paris. We enjoyed our time there and found it very convenient to transport and in walking distance to some major attractions. The 67 steps up to the loft were initially daunting but I've returned from my trip feeling really well and the exercise is a necessary antidote to the excellent food you will be eating. Don't miss out on the confit de canard at L'Industrie, the cafe on the corner of the block, the wonderful patisserie on the opposite corner, or the cuisine at bistrot moderne just around the corner. I highly recommend this apartment. I travelled with two adult women, but it is also suitable for families, as two of the bedrooms are away from the main bedroom.
