In the Jewish Ghetto of Rome, as central as you can get right by Largo argentina :) You can walk to all the sites.
This large studio is composed of a queen size bedroom an open plan living room complete with dining table, lounge, Television unit and Roman balconette style windows. Follow the corridor and entrance hall and you will find a modest size kitchen with Gas appliances, fridge and washing machine. Its modern bathroom has a heated towel rack and a shower.
The property is light and airy throughout, has a great view of surrounding Piazzas. And right by Largo Argentina, where you are connected to the rest of the city via bus and tram. Close by you have the popular nightspot; Campo dei Fiori, some of Rome's most popular tourist attractions:
and Rome's shopping district...Via del Corso!
The neighbourhood is buzzing with activity, its very safe and well policed due to the attractions in the area. If you want an apartment only a walk away from everything...this is it.
Please refer to the House Rules for payments to be made at the Check in.
Second bed is an Air bed -mattress.
Magnifique appartement très bien situé. A réserver sans hésitation ;-)
Wonderful apartment in Rome! Arrived at the apartment via a recommended driver from Alex... Easy transport from fiumicino. Totally worth it. Dimitri met us at the apt within 5 minutes! Gave fabulous recommendations for dinner - Osterica de fortunata is a must! Best location - 5 min walk to pantheon or campo de fiori, 10 min to piazza Navona, 12 min walk to forum. Had a little hiccup with the water heater but was remedied immediately by Alex and the owner. Great place to stay. Highly recommend!! Thanks Alex and dimitri for making our Roma stay the best!
The apartment is in a very good location. Piazza Venezia is 5mins walk away, 4 stops by bus (number 40) from Termini airport. The apartment is in a good condition and fairly clean.
There is a BUT though:
- I was due to meet one of Alex's employees at agreed time. I was running 1hr late due to plane delays. I texted and emailed Alex 40mins ahead of the agreed time. None of these were received apparently. Instead I got a call from Alex who sounded frustrated, on the border of being rude telling me off for being late and saying that I was delaying his employee and that his other clients will suffer delays because of me (Too much information? I should think so).
Note to anyone thinking of booking this apartment, call if you are running late as other popular means of communication apparently don't work. The last thing you want at the start of your holiday break is someone being rude to you, making it sound as if you as a customer was providing services and not the other way round!!
- we stayed there for 2 nights with a check out on Sunday, which means that we had to pay extra charge of €20 for cleaning services. This means that we paid €72 in total (including tax) for cleaning services for 2 nights for 3 people. That, fairly expensive price gave us no toilet paper and no soap in the bathroom. Surely, this could have been provided at minimum..
Floors were definitely not mopped ahead of our arrival as quite dusty, especially in the living room
- last but not least, there were 3 of us. The advert clearly says that there are 2 beds and the apartment can accommodate 3 people, however, only on the arrival we found out that there is only one bed in the bedroom and one living room sofa bed that you cant really sleep on. We were offered a blow up mattress as 'bed' option for a 3rd person.. I am mentioning this as it was quite disappointing to discover this on arrival only, and I would like Alex to mention this in his advert, otherwise it's unfair on his customers.
All in all, if you are looking for a good location in Rome, you should go ahead and book this one. I have had a great experience with Airbnb so far and I would like it to stay this way, that's why I will definitely look for alternative options next time I come back to Rome.
Dear Joanna, if the cleaning and bed were not sufficient then it would have been best to let us know during your stay. Telling us that there was some dust afterwards doesn't help make your stay any more comfortable.
In my line of business text messages commonly don't make it when a guest is travelling, a heads up for all travellers. And your email arrived 4 hours afterwards so I'm not sure if there was a technical error. Nevertheless 40 minutes ahead is not enough time for schedules to be changed and one should always call. I'm running multiple properties so if flights are delayed then the landlord should be notified prior to boarding.
The second bed is also listed as an Air-bed and it always has been. I may have come across as frustrated but never rude, I was speaking to someone that to my knowledge was late without having contacted me and when i got a hold of you…. you were taking a bus for 40 minutes instead of a €5 taxi from the station.
Thanks for all the information, you were a lovely guest.
We had a great stay at Alessandro's apartment. Meeting up to collect the keys was easy, the apartment was fairly clean and had everything needed in terms of kitchenware, towels, etc...
It is super central, being less than a 10 minute walk to most of the attractions in Rome. Vatican City is a little further away from the apartment, but even that was only a 20-25 minute walk.
I would definitely stay there again.
This is a modern, comfortable and impeccably clean apartment in a bustling neighborhood close to most of the main sights in Rome's centro storico. It's also just a short 10 minute walk across Ponte Garibaldi right into the heart of Trastevere. Alessandro was a great host who was always responsive whenever I had any questions during my stay. Next time I'm in Rome, I hope to stay at one his properties again.
Alex was an excellent host for our stay in Rome. I highly recommend this location, especially with its close proximity to everything in the historic area. Walking up the stairs didn't bother us one bit and parking was available a few blocks away (for free!--although I was told it'd be 8 euro).
It's hard to get to the apartment, even by taxi because the street is so small that it's not shown in most of GPS. In the other hand, the apartment is really nice and is well located. Really close to trastevere, 20 min walking/ 5 min bus to the Vatican, 10 min walking to the coloseum! So, it's not really necessary to take public transportation if you don't want
Take into account that checkout is at 11 o'clock and there is no way they can take care of your luggage after that time. If you're planing to leave the city after that time, then its better to find another apartment instead
You came at a peak time of year and I didn't have any apartments free in the area for you to store your luggage. Plus you did tell me a little late. Sorry Renni.
As for the address, you are right, its a little tricky so its best to look up Via in Publicolis and meet me at the Church as stated in the Booking confirmation.
Apartment was great, exactly as advertised, very clean, very nice and perfectly suited for the week we spent in Rome.
The neighborhood ended up being perfect, close to the biggest farmers market, a short walk from great shopping and fabulous restaurants.
Alex was incredibly helpful and gave us so many wonderful recommendations.
Highly recommend this property.
