Our large, much-loved family home can sleep up to 12, plus travel cot and is perfect for a couple of families or a group of mature friends. In trendy Kensal Rise with lots of great shops, restaurants and bars and a leafy, child-friendly park, it's just a 20 minute tube ride to central London.

The space
THE HOUSE
We have a large, stylish, light and airy house in Kensal Rise, close to Queens Park in North West London, which is a cool, urban area and a 20 minute tube journey from Queens Park station to the city centre. We have five large bedrooms (four of the bedrooms have kingsize beds and the attic room at the top of the house has the most amazing views across London). There is also a sofa bed for two extra guests in the attic room, plus a travel cot. There is a bathroom on the attic floor with a walk in shower and bath, a family bathroom with a bath and overhead shower, WC and sink next to one of the main bedrooms and a shower room on the second floor with walk in shower, sink and WC which is beside two of the bedrooms. On the ground floor there is a large open-plan sitting room with TV, board games, plenty of seating for hanging out and a large kitchen/diner with a sofa to hang out. The kitchen is well equipped (we are both keen cooks) and opens out onto on to a sunny terrace - it's a great place for breakfast and lunch on warm sunny days - and long, leafy garden.

There are whitewashed wooden floors throughout the house and original fireplaces in most of the rooms. We have a friendly cleaner, who can come once a week or more if required. Our house is relaxed place to hang out and is best for a couple of families or a group of friends.

THE LOCAL NEIGHOURHOOD
Centrally located just two miles from the centre of London, Kensal Rise is close to the buzzing markets of Portobello and Notting Hill and a stroll away from lots of local coffee shops, bars, restaurants and shops in Kensal Rise and Queens Park. We have a lovely local cinema called the Lexi, which features arty and mainstream films where you can enjoy a drink while watching the latest releases. In the summertime there are also open air movies shown in Queens Park. There is a train station just five minutes walk from the house that goes from East to West London so from the attractions of Stratford in the East (which includes the Olympic stadium and Westfield East) to leafy Richmond in the West. We are 10 minutes walk across a pretty park to Queen's Park station on the Bakerloo line which is a 20 minute journey to Oxford Street where you'll find lots of great shopping, restaurants, fun nightlife and theatre. There is on street parking (we can provide parking permits for a small extra cost) and tubes and trains run until midnight. There are also buses and night buses running into the centre of the city.

WHERE TO SHOP LOCALLY
Tesco on Chamberlayne Road in Kensal Rise for all basics
Brooks Brothers, Chamberlayne Road, organic meet, good fish selection, fresh bread, lots of deli items
Borough Wine, Chamberlayne, great selection of wine and beer
Sainsbury's, Ladbroke Grove, best place to head if you are planning a major shopping expedition
Sainsbury's Local, Salusbury Road, Queens Park, a smaller version of the above but it's pretty well stocked and you should find most things you need
M&S Food Hall, Salisbury Road, Queens Park, well stocked on deli items, meat, fish, and most groceries that you'll need.

Guest access
Guests have access to the whole house and garden and for long stay guests space will be made in wardobes and drawers.

Other things to note
This is our family home so we are not up for renting out the house for parties. It is best suited for family get togethers and/or a mature group of friends.
