The house overlooks the plain in a panoramic position, the view is beautiful and the house is very bright. There is no tv in the house to regain the natural dimension of living together. It is suitable for a family with children, has two bedrooms and the main one has a king size double bed with double layer memory mattress. The bathroom is accessible only from the master bedroom. Daily housekeeping is carried out, mandatory service.

The space

Our house

My home is in a small medieval town of Tuscany. Located on a granite stone hill overlooking the Plain of Maremma, it is located in a panoramic position. The house consists of a living room with dining and open kitchen, a bedroom with a spacious private bathroom and a shower. The house is on the ground floor of a early 20th century building consisting of two real estate units. The view is beautiful, you can see the sea on the horizon to the southeast and you can see also the islands of Montecristo, Elba and sometimes also Corsica. The position of Roccastrada is strategic, being situated between the sea (Porto S. Stefano, Castiglione della Pescaia, Punta Ala, Follonica 40/45 minutes) and the mountain (Mount Amiata 40/45 minutes) and it is easy to get to Siena (40 Minutes) Florence (1.30 h), Rome (2h). The village is well connected by public transport to the city of Grosseto, an important railway junction from which you reach Rome, Genoa, Florence, Siena. From Piombino there are connections to the island of Elba.

TYPE OF HOUSE
The house is an apartment of the early twentieth century restored with care according to the poor style of southern Tuscany. It consists of 3 large bedrooms, a dining room with kitchenette, a very bright and spacious double bedroom (24 sqm) with bathroom and wardrobe and a twin bedroom. For the location of the bathroom which is accessed only from the main bedroom, the house is recommended for families with children or groups of very close friends. Ideal for a couple. In addition, given the distances that connect the villages of Maremma, my home is not suitable for those who like to spend a holiday. It is a perfect place for those who want to know the wonderful territory of Tuscany. The absence of TV is a very precise choice of life for those who like to relax by choosing human contact and the reality of the place.

The Surroundings

My home is in the countryside, on a panoramic hill overlooking the Plain of Maremma. The whole area is surrounded by greenery and in every Tuscan village of medieval origin, it is in a prominent position with respect to nature. We are at an altitude of almost 400m above sea level and nature is the greatest attraction of our places. You can visit the ancient village with its 1240 church or dive on foot in the paths of the chestnut and oak woods. There are many trails suitable for trekking or nordic walking trails that wind through old ruined castles and wooded houses. Otherwise you can visit the plain resorts, the protected natural parks, the wwf oases and many other beauties that I will always be happy to illustrate to my guests. The nearest beaches and the nearest town are no more than half an hour by car, while cities such as Florence, Siena and Rome are within easy reach of 1h and a half. My knowledge of the territory is deep and great is the cultural heritage that can be approached by choosing to come to Maremma. I will be happy to share it with my guests and work by allowing them to accompany them personally on excursions of all kinds. I have a gradual preparation in the field of architecture and history from my humanities studies and are a naturalistic guide.

This place was a real surprise - it was a little gem of an apartment with beautiful features and so much space. The main bedroom was huge, bright and airy and the whole place as very quirky with very original, antique furnishings, interesting nooks and crannies and even a walk- in wardrobe (room!) which we didn't get to use, given that we were only staying one night! But I'd love to return for a longer stay- it really was beautiful. The only thing we missed was wifi, which would have been helpful for planning our onward journey, but it really wasn't a big problem and we loved our time there. Laura was very welcoming and friendly. There's nothing else to say but to recommend it to other guests!

Response from La:
Hello Abi, your words make me very happy. I remodelled my house hoping to preserve its soul and o believe it's beauty comes from this aspect. As for the wifi, its absence is a choice I made to make the house an oasis of peace where technology leaves space to the rhythms of a life that is lived slowly and together. Perhaps you didn't have time to read the provided services as the website says that it isn't provided. Thank you very much, have a safe journey, Laura

This is a charming rustic little house in a little town. The bedroom is huge and comfortable with a wonderful view. Although I booked at the last minute the owner was there to greet me on arrival. A wonderful place, with a wonderful host.

Laura and her daughter Caterina were fantastic hosts. They ensured we had everything we needed including a freshly baked chocolate cake which was delicious! The place itself is gorgeous and the bed was super comfortable. Roccastrada is a peaceful, warm town and Laura's place enabled us to enjoy that and live like the locals. We had an amazing stay here and would highly recommend it to everyone.
