  • We had a fantastic stay in Sue's beautiful cottage. The room was extremely comfortable and the location in Great Corby was perfect for what we were looking for.
Sue and Patrick were excellent hosts and Sue's breakfast is not to be missed -especially the scrambled eggs which were provided by the local chickens who reside over the road!
Can't recommend enough. Thanks again Sue!

  • It Was great to arrive & experience just what the advertisement offered - a lovely double room in the country. With chickens & rabbits adjacent plus the country pub a Short distance away, the setting was in place.
We were warmly greeted on arrival & shown to our room & explained where everything was located. Laura & Patrick were perfect hosts &even helped us with our future travels.

  • Sue was exceptionally welcoming and friendly, went to great lengths to organise a dinner reservation for us, and cooked brilliant scrambled eggs for breakfast! Beautiful cottage and surrounding area. Will definitely try to come back again, but for much longer next time!

  • Sue was a warm and welcoming host. I arrived in the pouring rain and she was out on the road with an umbrella guiding me in. I was traveling solo so felt safe and comfortable from the minute I arrived in her beautiful cottage. Room was delightful, bed comfortable and woke to farm sounds and sunshine, perfect.
I was sorry that the stay was so brief but would highly recommend it to anyone.

Thank you Dinah for such a good review, It's not perfect here but I do try my best to make things as enjoyable as I can for visitors (who knows what sort of day anyone has travelling is stressfull at the best).
I trust you had a good time in Scotland and the Lakes and hope you visited the gardens we talked about.
If I am anywhere near you I will look you up.

  • Sue was a caring, interesting and generous host. She was very knowledgeable about her area, and had materials and information at her fingertips. Great Corby is a wonderful place to stay, handy to major attractions such as Hadrian's Wall, but also to beautiful rural countryside. An added benefit was 'Jack', the gentle retriever. We will keep in contact with Sue, as a really positive relationship was established.

  • Sue replied really speedily to my request, and I'm so pleased she did, because the standard hotels were booked out. ALSO what a treasure! That applies equally to finding a beautiful house in a charming village, and to Sue herself, who is very friendly, charming and so hospitable! She also has the shaggiest, most affable dog Jack, who is adorable. And she has chickens, so scrambled eggs at breakfast was a lovely treat...
