Our family has chosen to work in the countryside using the organic farming since over twenty years. We live in Val D’Orcia, the land of clays and gullies; a few steps away from Pienza, in a typical homestead on a hill surrounded by olive trees and ancient oaks. In this particular environment we try to share with our guests the taste for silence, simplicity and the sweetness of the country life, in terms of quality and rhythms.
Our philosophy is to use organic products, mainly from our farmhouse, but also local organic farming products, aiming to offer natural taste and traditional dishes to our guests.
We offer our guests four spacious, quiet rooms tastefully furnished, each one with its private bathroom, WiFi Internet connection.
We serve breakfast in our welcoming dining room, Arch room.
Upon request, we serve also fixed menu dinner.kkk
we will serve first and second courses, a side dish, fruit or dessert (according to availability), ¼ litre of our wine per person, water and coffee.
Different meals (with home-made pasta, wild boar or roe deer meats) can be agreed upon.
In the Val d’Orcia Artistic, Cultural and Natural Park, right in front of Pienza, rises a gentle hill called Lucignanello, where an ancient farmhouse is situated, at 470 meters above the sea level, ever since the Middle Ages. Farmhouse external viewThis location offers an amazing , 360-degree view onto a wide and varied landscape: the skyline of Pienza, known as the jewel of the Italian Renaissance Architecture; the imposing profile of Monte Amiata, with its picturesque villages on the slopes; the cypresses, typically arranged in double rows all along the winding profiles of the sweet hills; the Castle of Monticchiello, heritage of a glorious past and symbol of the local community; the Val D’Orcia, with its knolls and gullies; the Sienese clays, all gathered in a landscape that turns its colours with the seasons.
The apartment called Ovile (sheepfold) is the sunniest apartment in the house.
It is composed of a double room, a large dining room with a stone fireplace and a cooking area, and bathroom with shower. The terracotta-tiled floor and the raftered ceiling make this apartment cosy and warm.

It is furnished with 19th century wrought-iron beds and solid wood furniture, and decorated with terracotta-tiled floor and raftered ceiling.
It has a wonderful view on Monticchiello.
The apartment called Cantinetta (wine cellar) is composed of a large double room furnished with early 20th century brass beds, and a bathroom with shower.

We had the most amazing stay with Alesandro and Daniela. They were very very nice and went out of their way to make us comfortable. The self catering room we stayed in was large and so comfortable. We had the best view from our room as the B& B was built high up. We could look out to all the surrounding villages and had a great view of Pienza. Our breakfast with homemade yogurt every morning had a surprise pastry and Alesandro made a great cappuccino. The 2 dinners that Daniela cooked for us were the best food we at in Italy in the month we were there. You must arrange in advance as she does all her own cooking. She made the best Tiramusu we have ever eaten. The location near Pienza was also convenient for visiting surrounding towns. We really enjoyed getting local cheeses and salami, bread and fresh pasta in Pienza and other towns we visited and eating them back at our room. The self catering had a fridge, stove, sink and basics for cooking and eating. Alesandro is a great historian and gave lots of ideas of places to visit. We don't speak Italian, but we do speak Portuguese and we got along great with this really kind couple. We stayed 5 days and enjoyed every moment! They even gave us a bottle wine. We hated to leave and could have stayed longer. We stayed in 9 different places in Italy and this was one of our favorites! Hope we can go back again someday!
We loved staying at Alessandro's farmhouse, located a few minutes away from the town of Pienza - some of the most beautiful scenery we drove through while touring Tuscany. Breakfasts were great, with homemade yogurt and preserves and fresh baked tarts. I would also highly recommend arranging a dinner, as it was the best meal and hospitality we had while in Italy (homemade charcuterie, roast rabbit, tiramisu, limoncello, and wine!). The room was large, sunny and very clean, with gorgeous views of the hillsides (we were in the Ovile room). A bonus was the animal sightings, a sow and her piglets, lots of kittens, pheasants, and frogs.
THE most amazing place I've ever been. The name and description is not just words... it's really pure relax. Astonishing house and environment. Tuscany at its best.
Very lovely host, who served amazing breakfast.
Definitely a place to come back!
Thank you for letting us stay there.
My family had a wonderful time during our stay here. There were 5 of us and we had 3 rooms, which were all great rooms - clean, plenty of towels, and the bed linens were very nice. Alessandro was very helpful in telling us some vineyards/cantinas to visit; however it was a little difficult to communicate, since we spoke no Italian. We also had dinner at the farm one night and it was one of the best dinners we had on our entire trip! There was plenty of delicious food - toasts with spreads, 2 kinds of pasta, 2 kinds of meat, plenty of wine, and the BEST tiramisu we all have ever had. His wife was very sweet and is a fantastic cook!
We did have a difficult time finding the place, even with a GPS, so definitely call them when you get close so they can meet you to find the farm.
Absolutely beautiful. We had our own little villa with lots of space. The house dates back hundreds of years and it still very nice and cosy inside. Our little villa was very comfortable. Not to mention the best views I've seen of the surrounding countryside of Tuscany, just like the movies. Breakfast was, well, the best I had on our entire 25 day trip of 7 different cities. Everything from the yogurt to the olive oil came from Alessandro's farm. Yes, I said farm. He has multiple farms and will offer you a homemade authentic italian dinner with ORGANIC foods all originating from his farms. We ate at some of the best restaurants in Italy and dinner at Alessandro's was one of the best. If you want to relax in Tuscany, I would highly recommend staying here. There are some nice views and places to see nearby in Pienza.
Staying here was a truly fantastic experience. The farmhouse is only a mile from Pienza, a really lovely walk through beautiful Tuscan countryside. The views from the farmhouse are stunning. The rooms are lovely: very clean, charmingly furnished, good bathrooms. The breakfasts were delicious: home made yoghurt, home made cakes, home made jam. One night we ate dinner in the farmhouse (you have to book in advance), it was brilliant. A very reasonably priced feast with wine and liqueurs. They also catered brilliantly for the vegetarians in our party. Wish we stayed longer than three nights. Thank you very much.
