Very close to the airport. Great for us since we were flying out really early in the morning. Room was clean and nice. Christine gave us a great suggestion for dinner which we really enjoyed. Overall great experience.
This was the first time for me to use Airbnb, but I say they are really awesome. The room was cozy, clean, and quiet as shown on their post. Jay and Christine are also nice. They are friendly and willing to talk with their guest. They know much about SF bayarea so I could ask where I should go. Moreover, I could ask how they start Airbnb service as a host. Whenever I go back to SF, I'd check their room and wanna stay again!
Great location, perfect room. Would definitely recommend staying there! Even though we did not meet Jay and Christine they made sure we had everything we needed. Thanks again!
We arrived later than expected and needed help to find the house in the dark, Jay responded quickly through text. The small heater can wind up blowing a fuse but once home they fixed issue. The house has a little bit of a musty smell when you come in but the smell of a candle burning in the kitchen one night helped. Bathroom shared with a relative but was not a problem, have to ask for more toilet paper once a roll is used which would be inconvenient if they are not home. We ran out of toilet paper twice during our stay. Jay is helpful and will respond quickly unless he is at a game and hasn't seen the text.
We apologized for missing the text message about the fuse tripping. It hasn't happened before in this circumstance of usage so we were dumbfounded when we heard about it. We do respond to messages as we receive them but on this one night we went to a sporting event as a last minute invitation and did not have reception. Once we received the message we abandoned our dinner plans post game and went home without eating. As hosts we assume the major responsibility of aiming to create a pleasant stay for our guests. As for the smell, it had been very foggy and cold the week up to your arrival, as you know since you exrienced it all up and down CA during your stay on the west coast, this may or may have not contributed to that, but we do not have any mold or other issues in the home as we have had it inspected for insurance purposes. It could have just been due to the fact that no windows have been opened due to the cold weather. As for the toilet paper when needed. We do not inspect the guest restroom daily as we like to give guests that privacy. We explained the situation regarding that with past guests and thus had to implement the procedure we have going forward during a guest's stay with toilet paper. If guests let us know their needs timely we respond ASAP. As a suggestion in the future as a guest, it would be advised to remove shoes if you did spend a day hiking. We do not require guests to remove shoes on the carpeted upstairs area of the home where the guests rooms are, but do ask that if it rains or if shoes are dirty, to remove them on the carpeted area. Guests tend to heed to our request but after your check out we did find a lot of debris including some bark and minor sports on our stairs and in the guest room. This prompted us to have the carpets cleaned on the stairs, hall, and guest room after your check out.
About the Host, Jay And Christine
Christine and I were born and raised in San Francisco and still enjoy visiting the city all the time. There is always something going on and new things to discover which makes it a new adventure every time. We love meeting new people and learning new things about everything and everyone. We like visiting new places and exploring new cities we've never been to. Our ultimate vacation destination would have to be Thailand.
We enjoy trying new foods and discovering new places to try and visit. We enjoy the outdoors camping, hiking, or just being out and about in general. Working out and "trying" to eat right is another one of our passions. We believe in humanity still and helping one another out is a trait that everyone should have. Jay becoming a registered EMT brings that closer to him. Not currently working in that field but up he's up to date with all his credentials and knowledge. Both of us are Bay Area sports fans to round it off.
We can say that we love hosting people from around the world. It gives us a glimpse of what is still out there, and what there is still left to be explored. Hearing/sharing stories of our travels or others is enjoyable. Giving advice on where to go in the city, and having the chance to help anyone out that's new to the area is not a problem for us.
We will be more than glad to help you out with anything : )
