The Space

Located in beautiful northern California, Petaluma is 30 minutes to the Pacific, forty-five minutes north of San Francisco and a short drive to wine country. A quick 10 minute walk to downtown shops, great antique stores, restaurants and theater, this is a great getaway for your Northern California escape.

The house is large and gives a lot of privacy in the upstairs where you have a double size bed and a separate, shared bathroom. There is an an additional bath for use if needed. The kitchen is downstairs as well as laundry. Our neighborhood is great for walks with charming architecture to take in and a park just around the block.

There is much to do locally like walking by the Petaluma River and marshes at Shollenberger Park, great coffee shops, Petaluma Outlets plus many other activities close by and we'll be happy to make recommendations.

  • We had such an incredible time staying with Sheri and Maurice. We felt right at home. The room was clean, beautiful and comfortable. We honestly couldn't have asked for more. The only bad part was having to leave!

  • We had a great time staying with Sheri And Maurice. Truly great hosts! The bed was amazingly comfortable and was better than described. Breakfast was such a great treat. Both days they went above and beyond our expectations. They even lent us a cooler so that we could keep our cheeses that we had bought on the cheese trail cool during our travels. Would stay with them again in a heartbeat!

  • This home caught our eye because it was so pretty and we kept coming back to it after looking at others in the area. It was everything promised and more. Sheri and Maurice were the best-ever hosts and we felt quite pampered. Their home is beautifully decorated, sparkling clean and has an incredible deck and garden where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast. A bonus was we got to meet the chickens that produced the eggs! Definitely recommend a stay here.

  • Sheri and Maurice were both really sweet and welcoming. The home and neighborhood are so incredibly quaint...like out of a storybook! I loved that they had a healthy breakfast available as well as chickens and a very fluffy cat around: )

    I would highly recommend them!

  • Delightful stay! The hosts were welcoming, the house was an antique lover's dream, and the bed was so wonderful I fell asleep trying to read a good book!

  • Sheri, Maurice, and their home is why airbnb is SO amazing!

My husband and I stayed for one night at Sheri and Maurice's beautiful home and we definitely plan on returning! We had a wonderful time in their comfortable, wonderfully decorated, clean home. Sheri and Maurice went above and beyond in hospitality and we felt like we were among family (without the expected downsides that family offers!). The two of them are such good people and my husband and I really enjoyed exchanging life stories with them. Their home was such a retreat for us even though we were there for only a little while.

Petaluma, in itself, is definitely worth at least a weekend trip -- (email hidden) with super good food -- Sheri and Maurice's breakfast and coffee were amazing too (They're eggs were from their own chickens and there was homemade meyer lemon and ginger jelly, which was amazing). Petaluma also surrounds many of the best areas of the Bay Area. Whatever you come for, Sheri and Maurice will point you in the right direction. My husband and I are bit of homebodies and talkers, ourselves, so we enjoyed the property and getting to know Sheri and Maurice and the other guests the most!

Only downside, but really wasn't an issue at all for us, is that the bathroom is shared. The house was definitely full, but, for our purposes we really enjoyed meeting the other guests that occupied the two other rooms. These things may only be an issue depending on your expectations. Like, if you're looking for a super private romantic getaway, the presence of other guests may hinder that. However, Sheri and Maurice, are really respectful and quiet. So I can't imagine not being able to enjoy private time there, especially on such a beautiful and quiet property.

Thank you so much Sheri and Maurice and we hope to see y'all again soon!

  • I only stayed one night but it was the perfect AirBnB stay I have come to expect. They picked me up from the bus stop and prepared an excellent breakfast the next morning. One note...I'm very pillow picky, the pillows were awesome (large and firm). This place is a definite stay!!!

About
We are a marired couple and have lived here in Petaluma for almost 40 years. Our home is furnished with many antiques because of our interests and business. We have hosted exchange students from Spain and France (for up to a school year) and have traveled to Europe several times and hope to go again to see different countries. We love the many dining choices here in town all focusing on fresh local food as well as a number of microbreweries. We enjoy walks in a number of parks here with walking trails, marshes and water fowl. Downtown is less than a fifteen minute walk with many antique shops, restaurants, movie theater and coffee (website hidden) tie up in downtown at the "turning basin" on the Petaluma River providing a great view from many local restaurants.
