It is within walking distance to a variety of dining options, galleries, movie theater... Five star dinnig to dumpster diving is the general idea. Public transportation is a breeze. there are two lines that run north/south within two blocks and one line that runs east/west that connects to light rail. Either way, easy to get downtown or to the airport. Be nice and I might even give you a ride...
I have two super lovey dogs that cannot stand it if you do not say "Hi" to them. Good with kids, dogs, mailmen, whatever... Am sure they would love to meet you!
Me?!? I'm just a plain Jane country girl that bought a house in a rough neighborhood 16 years ago and got lucky!
I had a wonderful 3-night stay in Catherine's gorgeous home. I'm from Portland and I'm familiar with the Alberta Arts district, a fun and conveniently-located neighborhood, and was delighted to discover one of my fav coffeehouses, Extracto, is just up the block from Catherine's. The room is truly lovely and the bed to die for. Catherine was welcoming and pleasant to talk with. Her dogs, Farley and Chico, are cutie pies. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
Catherine was a good host welcoming us into her attractively furnished home. She has great taste and design skills.
Our room was a cozy, quiet equally attractive space which unfortunately we only stayed for one night of our trip through Oregon. (Farley was friendly but Chico seemed a bit shy.)
Catherine related some of her history about the house clearly she has kept the old charm while livening it up with color, art and warmth.
The great location is just a block from an upcoming friendly street full of restaurants that also feature music nightly. We had a fantastic breakfast at the Waffle Window.
Would definitely return when we get up to Portland again.
Catherine and her place are great! Very cozy and welcoming. And if you like dogs you are in for a very good time, they are amazing. (if you dont like dogs you should). The location is the best and you will find a bunch of restaurants and things to do a block away. I strongly recommend this place and I'll be back on my next trip to Portland.
Catherine was a great host. The room was clean, cozy, and as described. The highlight of the space was the bathroom, which was just remodeled and really nice to use.
The dogs are very friendly, so if you like having someone to pet when you walk in the door, you'll enjoy it here.
Catherine is a wonderful host and has two amazing dogs, that my pups (I stayed with my wife and 2 dogs) were super happy to meet and play with. The bedroom is super comfy and the bathroom is very clean and orderly. The house is located within blocks of several coffee shops, and a short walk from two different great off-leash dog parks. Next time I need a place to stay in Portland I will plan on staying here again.
Catherine was a wonderful host and fun to talk with. Her house was beautiful and artistic, great shower! Great neighborhood.
We had a wonderful stay in Catherine's home. She and her dogs were very welcoming and made us feel at home. Even though we barely saw her because our main goal was to explore the city, when we did get a chance to talk, she was very engaging and offered great recommendations.
Her home is located within walking distance to many delicious places that Portland is known for such as Pok Pok, Beast, and Salt & Straw. We also had a rental car with us and finding parking on her street was not an issue at all.
I would definitely consider staying here again the next time I come to Portland.
My girlfriend Carissa and I had a wonderful time staying with Catherine at her house. She is very accommodating, and was able to provide a lot of great info about Portland and her neighborhood. Her dogs are a delight to be around, and treat you like you're part of the family. I recommend her greatly to anyone who wishes to visit Portland and stay in the Alberta district.
We had a little miscommunication on our arrival night, but everything was great after that. The bed was comfortable and room was very nice. We didn't hang around too much because it was our first time in Portland and we wanted to take in all we could see.
It is walking distance to Alberta where there are plenty of restaurants and shops and also to Extracto, which makes the best Chai Tea Latte that we have tasted.
Catherine was helpful in giving us advice on places to see and offered fresh fruit from her trees. Her dogs were adorable too!
Our whole stay in Portland was a delight and Catherine's cozy home was no exception! This was our first AirBnB stay and we couldn't have had a better experience.
Catherine helped us find the best local eats and ways around the city, and her adorable pups welcomed us home every night. The house was beautiful and the bed was SO comfy.
Can't wait to come back!
