About this listing
This little stand alone house offers a great retreat for 2 people. With 1 double bedroom, 1 bathroom with bath tub and shower and a wonderful open plan space as the living room, kitchen and dining area, it has all you need to be comfortable during your holiday.
In keeping with the rest of our apartments, it is decorated simply and beautifully with neutral colours and wooden accents to make it feel homely.
It has a little sitting area outside and has a view of the surrounding gardens and property.
We explain everything when you get here! :)
This cottage is lovely, secluded, and surrounded by a garden. The decor is beautiful. It everything we needed (air con, full kitchen, large tub). The cottage was cleaned everyday and there were several nice touches (welcome letter recommending restaurants and a welcome basket with bread, eggs and juice). In addition, Bridget helped us arrange a rental car and organized our transport from the airport. Bruce allowed us to store our luggage at his place while we were in La Digue even though we weren't returning to the cottage. I would fully recommend this cottage. It's exceptional for the price. The only downside is that Au Cap is a bit far from Anse Royal, Victoria and Beau Vallon, the buses take a long time, and there's not great sidewalks for walking or bike riding, so you definitely need to rent a car if you stay here (and rental cars start at around 35-44 euro a day).
This was our first Airbnb experience and it was perfect. Nicely done inside, had enough to cook with, aircon and ceiling fans, and a nice veranda to sit out on. There was someone to clean and wash up everyday which was great. They provided a cot for our baby daughter. Communication before arrival was great, we arranged our car hire through them so could drive straight from the airport to the property (car hire is much cheaper than relying on taxis in the Seychelles). We were shown the house and then left to get on with our holiday, but if we had a question we could always find someone to ask. Location is fine, with a car it is easy to get to anywhere on Mahe (and there are plenty of buses on the road if you want to take them). I definitely recommend it.
The mango tree next to the house dropped mangoes onto the tin roof all night & day long. At first we thought it was the sound of monkeys jumping on the roof but soon realized the mango tree was dropping its produce with a thud that sounded like a bomb drop. The mangoes attracted both fruit bats and fruit flies such that the house was filled with pesky fruit flies and the sound of bats screeching all night long made for a cacophany of noise. We informed our host and he said he will have the branch trimmed back. The walk to the beach was short and the view beautiful. The kitchen was well-stocked with tools and implements (1st day of juice and milk was complimentary). The internet was spotty and the host said he had a problem with the router. Internet was best if we walked to the reception.
We spent our first days in the Seychelles in the cottage at bruce's place. There's a perfect kitchen with everything you need. The cottage is nice and charming furnished and the bed very comfortable. The veranda in the garden is a perfect place to eat breakfast or dinner.
Our last two days we spent in the studio. It's smaller than the cottage, but still, you have everything you need. Bruce and Caroline are very helpful. Brigitte did a wonderful job and sent us all we needed to prepare our trip. And not to forget: we loved their dogs.
It's good to have a car so you can reach the nice beaches close by.
To sum up: a perfect place to stay
We had a good contact before we arrived, and were given a lot of information for our visit to the Seychelles. The cottage is located in a quiet area of the island, be sure to rent a car while on Mahé. The bedroom had on of the best beds we've ever had in a guest house. Well equiped kitchen, perfect for a quick breakfast or late night dinner. The only thing not working sometimes was the Internet, but when you're visiting the Seychelles, that's less of a problem. Thank you Bruce!
The cottage was very clean and comfortable! we enjoyed our stay at this little cute cottage.
