This experience has exceeded all of our expectations. You have made our stay here in Positano one of the most memorable and amazing experiences of our lives. Your recommendations were superb and we were fortunate enough to have tasted the most divine tiramisu in our lives thanks to your mom. Everyone was so warm, welcoming and helpful and we will be eternally grateful to have crossed your Path. We hope to return in the future and spend more time in Casa La Toreta and further explore the paradise you live in.
Once again, thank you for everything you have done for us!
Love and Hugs,
We absolutely loved this apartment in Montepertuso! We were warmly greeted when we arrived by Chiara and Angelo and throughout our stay, we were made to feel like family. Each evening were brought freshly prepared vegetables from the garden and the most amazing homemade tiramisu!
The apartment itself is very spacious, well appointed, has an amazing private patio, and provides for lots of room for a family. It was incredibly hot during our stay and the AC in the bedrooms worked very well and by leaving the bedroom doors open, the rest of the apartment was also cooled. The kitchen was well stocked and the clothes washer worked great!
I would highly recommend this lovely apartment - it is located above Positano and is a nice retreat from the overcrowded streets of Positano in the summer. A grocery store and a few restaurants are within walking distance of the apartment. We had a car and were able to park it in the gated carport at the apartment, which was good because we accidentally drove into Positano in trying to find the apartment and that was something we never wanted to do again! The bus stop is very close as well and is the best option for transportation to Positano. For the more adventurous, there is a path of stairs from Montepertuso to Positano - it is hilly, since Montepertuso sits 1100 feet above Positano - and there are approximately 1500 steps each way. My husband and I took the stairs down but opted to get a ride back to the apartment.
As for Montepertuso itself - it is a very small, sleepy town with the most welcoming of people. From our first dinner at Donna Rosa, where they opened early to accommodate us and had amazing food to our laid back nights of pizza at il Pertuso, this was a wonderful and relaxing part of our trip and we would certainly go back.
Absolutely wonderful place, so clean, beautiful view, and superb hospitality. We were there while it was very hot and the A/C in both bedrooms worked very well. Also great to have a washing machine, and we were able to bring less clothes in our suitcase.
we highly recommend and the rate is very low for what you get.
This apartment is as nice as it looks. Beautifully clean and well equipped, in a great location in the hills above Positano. This means that it is quiet and airy, with space, in comparison with being in the centre. It's a lovely place to come back to at the end of the day, and well located for the excellent restaurants in Montepertuso. Chiara was very welcoming and helpful, and we appreciated the warm and generous hospitality of Angelo and Giuseppina who gave us vegetables and fruit from the garden and also baked for us. We highly recommend La Torretta as a lovely place to stay.
We had a nice stay at the apartment Montepertuso in Positano. Angelo was helpful. The apartment is spacious, the bedrooms are large and all the rooms open on the wonderful terrace with the stunning view. You can even get a glimpse of the sea in a corner of it, but the dramatic mountains and the green forests around make a breathtaking view as is. Unfortunately the weather was rather cold so we could not enjoy the terrace, which may be a good thing, as we went out to visit the surroundings. I am sure that on a summery weather , with all the amenities, we would probably have spent lots of time on that terrace!
The place is ideal if you have a car, though driving on the Amalfi coast is not for the fainthearted. If you don't, then there is a small bus which comes once per hour, but there is no service for 2 hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon, so you have to plan your activities accordingly. Angelo was of great help by providing us with all the timetables of the buses that serve Positano, but take into consideration that very often the buses can be late.
My husband and I had an amazing experience! here! Chiara and Angelo were there to welcome us. There were fresh strawberries, bread, jams, tea and coffee, which was nice not to head to the store right away. They even gave us some fresh eggs from their chickens! The apartment was even more beautiful than the photos, and it was fully equipped with everything we needed! We loved exploring the little town of Montepertuso (walking distance from the apartment), and dined at Il Ritrivo a few nights in a row, do yourself a favor and eat there, delicious! One of our favorite parts of our stay, besides the beautiful view on the terrace, was Mrs Marrones homemade Tiramisu. It was totally unexpected and so thoughtful of them. Angelo also lent us his electric bikes, and we had many an adventure exploring Positano on them. We didn't have a car, but between the buses and the bikes, it wasn't a problem at all. We highly recommend this apartment (more like a house) So warm and inviting, surrounded by lush vegetable gardens, a breathtaking view, and a beautiful family.
If you are unsure which flat to book.....take my advice and book this place ASAP! You wont regret it. After a week of bike riding in Pulgia we arrived in Francesco ' s quiet paradise. What an ideal place to relax and take in the local culture, food and scenerey. And the beauty! This place is such prettier in person. Perched high on Montepertuso, the flat is extremely spacious and the hosts have thought of everything (hair dryer, hygiene products, iron, paper towels, ice cubes already in the trays, Sky TV, fully stocked kitchen with utensils, clothes line, extra pillows and blankets). In addition to the house having spectacular views down the mountain, Francesco is easily accessible for directions or recommendations. His ever-smiling father works in the garden below and his mother welcomes you with home made desserts. Check in was a breeze and when we departed we simply left the keys with Dad.
Some notes: there is a small market 800 meters walking up hill where you can purchase snacks, additional toiletries and some fruit and breakfast foods. Also, we didn't think the driving was as crazy as people presented. The one road up the mountain is narrow and the busses bold but you get the hang of it. If you are going to dinner most restaurants offer free shuttles or grab the bus for 1.70 Euros. Laslty, for the more adventurous, take a hike up to the pertuso (hole). The fastest way is to start with the steps behind the restuarant Il Ritrivo. In 20-30 minutes you will be standing in the pertuso. Amazing!
