Nadia was a great host, helping us with everything from restaurant recommendations to calling taxis for us since my app was not set up. The apartment is charming. A restoration of an old colonial that preserves all of the old fixtures but is brightened with paint and artwork. Nadia also supplies the apartment with everything you could possibly need, and even greeted us with fruit, yogurt and orange juice in the refrigerator for our first breakfast. The internet connection was reliable and fast.
Nadia is very friendly, she even provided us some fruits and yoghurt for free on arrival, recommended restaurants and supermarkets, called a taxi for us etc. - very helpful! The neighborhood is a bit less crowded during weekends and and night but we did not feel unsafe at all. Everything in the apartment was as described. We had a very pleasant stay, thanks again!
Nadia and Juan were absolutely wonderful hosts. Before arrival, Nadia was very attentive, friendly and professional. Questions were answered promptly and she immediately made me feel at ease with reserving their gorgeous home for our two day stay in Montevideo. Upon arrival, Nadia met us at the door as we were unloading from the cab and we were greeted with immediate warmth and welcome. She let us into the apartment, a completely private space that is attached to the main house by a stunning indoor/outdoor courtyard and gave us a quick tour of facilities, which does include a safe for keeping documents and the extra cash. We were also provided with some wonderful snacks, drinks and all necessary comfort provisions. As well as maps, brochures and pamphlets for things to do and places to see in Montevideo and a wonderfully detailed itinerary for what to do on our two day stay. During our time there we had a chance to chat with Juan a little, who was enthusiastic to give us some background on the city and the buildings that surrounded the neighborhood. He was so warm and sweet, we really enjoyed his company and immediately felt as if this were the type of couple we could easily spend an extended meal with and enjoy every second of.
The apartment is stunning. What you see in the photos is what you get. A fully restored historic building in the old neighborhood of Montevideo. You'll walk in to find it impeccably clean and cared for, with a wonderful scent in the air (I don't know what it was, but I wanted to take it home with me). The location is excellent, very pedestrian friendly; it's within walking distance of nearly everything that you'll want to visit during your stay and a short cab ride to other neighborhoods that are a bit further away. It's within walking distance to the port if you take a ferry, though a quick cab ride is advisable, as it may be a bit long for carrying luggage.
Overall our stay in Montevideo and in this beautiful home is one that'll I'll keep in my heart for the rest of my life. It was absolutely perfect and Nadia and Juan really are the model Airbnb hosts. I couldn't have asked for more. Thank you so much!
