Sydney's the most beautiful harbour city in the world, and now you can enjoy it from the luxury of your own private yacht! Stay in a quiet bay in the harbour with the city skyline as a backdrop or stay on board in a marina - the choice is yours.
If you opt to stay in the harbour, once we've dropped anchor in a quiet bay we'll leave you to enjoy the boat overnight and we'll come back to get you whenever it suits you...
Why stay in a hotel or apartment when you can stay on your own, private, luxury yacht: staying on a yacht in Sydney Harbour has to be the most memorable way you can imagine to enjoy the most beautiful harbour city in the world. And what's more, we've been listed by Urban Walkabout in "the top 7 heart-stoppingly
Welcome to Europa: she's 45 feet (14 metres) of exquisite, European-built quality and luxury. She has 3-cabins (3 double beds), two bathrooms complete with luxurious whisper-quiet electric flush toilets, a luxurious saloon with wifi, a top-notch stereo, and a DVD player.
There's plenty of room in the kitchen (galley) to cook up a storm, and enough fridge and freezer space to keep your spirits up throughout your stay.
Up on deck there's very roomy seating and lounging space for six, a hammock up front, and a sun awning to keep out the midday sun. The back of the boat (the transom) folds down to form a swimming platform and there's even a hot shower on deck (as well as the two showers in the bathrooms downstairs).
The yacht is commercially licensed and certified to offer cruises and accommodation within Sydney Harbour so you can be assured that she complies with national and international safety standards.
While the yacht is luxurious, it is a yacht, not a house! Space is, of course, limited and it's a bit like "glamping" (glamorous camping) - i.e. it's very indulgent, very comfortable, a little adventurous, and very different from being in an apartment or hotel room! Please do take note of the house rules - especially regarding bringing luggage on board.
You’ll board the yacht at a marina in Rushcutters Bay (half an hour from the airport and 10 minutes by taxi to the city) and from there you’ll be taken to your choice of two anchorages – ELIZABETH BAY or TARONGA ZOO.
With the ELIZABETH BAY option you’ll be taken to a mooring close to the cosmopolitan shops and restaurants of Potts Point and you’ll have access to a tender service so you can get on and off the boat during the day to explore Sydney. The tender service operates from 7am-6pm in the summer and 9am-5pm outside the summer months. Outside of these hours, a small boat may be made available to you to get to and from the yacht, subject to the owner being satisfied of your abilities or previous boating experience.
If you choose the TARONGA ZOO option you’ll be taken across the harbour to a wonderfully sheltered bay just next to Taronga Zoo. You’ll have the whole of Sydney spread out in front of you, illuminated by the lights of the Opera House, city and Harbour Bridge, and you’ll be anchored just off a quiet, sandy beach. If you’re staying for more than one night, you’ll have access to a small dinghy to row 50m ashore so you can catch a ferry or bus into the city. Imagine you and your friends dining under the stars with the city lights just a mile or so away, falling asleep in luxurious cabins to the gentle sound of water lapping against the boat, then waking up on your own private yacht, in your own private bay, jumping off the back of the boat for a quick swim before making yourself a coffee and breakfast. The TARONGA ZOO option costs an additional $250 which is payable in cash on the day.
With either option you’re welcome to add on a three hour PRIVATE HARBOUR CRUISE: we’ll motor or sail past Fort Denison, Admiralty and Kirribilli Houses, under the Harbour Bridge and into Darling Harbour, past Walsh Bay, Circular Quay and the Opera House into Farm Cove, then on to see Australia’s most exclusive homes in Darling Point, Double Bay, Point Piper and Rose Bay, then we’ll sail or motor off down the harbour towards Watsons Bay and Manly. Or else just let the skipper know where you’d like to go and what you’d like to see – after all, this is a private cruise! The three hour private HARBOUR CRUISE normally starts at $400 but if the druise is taken at the beginning or end of your stay (ie when you’re being taken to or from your anchorage/mooring) the price is reduced to just $250 (payable in cash on the day).
Finally, you could opt for the three hour PRIVATE HARBOUR CRUISE without staying overnight on the yacht. You might, for instance, choose to spend 90 minutes exploring Sydney Harbour and 90 minutes at anchor so you can have lunch or a drink and go for a swim – it’s a private cruise and we’d be delighted to tailor your cruise to however you’d like! The cost of the three hour cruise for those not staying on the yacht overnight is $400 for up to six passengers, $500 for 7-9 passengers, and $600 for 10-12 passengers. Please make an enquiry through Airbnb letting me know what you’d like to do. Additional time on the yacht beyond the three hours costs $100 per hour.
For all overnight stays you’ll be provided with luxury fluffy towels, crisply ironed bed linen, hand towels, tea towels, washing up liquid, bin bag, soap etc. We’ll also put fresh milk in the fridge and leave you with cooking essentials like tea, coffee, cooking oil, salt, pepper etc. On board there are plenty of plates, bowls, glasses, mugs, cutlery, cooking implements and cooking pots.
Food can be provided for any of these options – please let us know what you’re thinking of and we’ll send you some menu options and prices.
If all this sounds like heaven, please do get in touch and let's plan a perfect itinerary for you…
You'll have complete access to everything on the yacht (kitchen, bathrooms, stereo, wifi, DVDs etc). You may, for an additional fee, have access to a dinghy and outboard motor - however, you will not be able to drive or sail the yacht.
While you do not need to have a boat licence to use the dinghy and outboard, you will need to have a degree of competence in the handling of small boats.
Interaction with Guests
I will be available by phone and email throughout the stay to ensure your comfort and safety, and to answer the myriad questions about living on board a yacht!
Sydney Harbour is the most stunning place on earth. OK.. maybe a slight exaggeration, but it's certainly up there with the best!
If you've chosen the ELIZABETH BAY option you'll be a couple of minutes walk to the shops and restaurants of Potts Point and only half an hour's walk to the Opera House and the centre of the city. There are also plenty of buses and trains to take you into town.
If you've chosen the TARONGA ZOO option you'll have the whole city skyline laid out in front of you and you'll be less than 100m from a sheltered, sandy beach. A two minute walk from there and you're at the ferry wharf where there are hourly ferries to whisk you across the harbour to Circular Quay, the centre of town and the Opera House.
If you've chosen the ELIZABETH BAY option there is a free tender service to take you to and from the shore where it's a half hour walk into the centre of the city (and there are plenty of buses and trains). Please see details within the HOUSE RULES section.
A dinghy and outboard may also be made available to you - please see HOUSE RULES section.

•Water is heated by the yacht’s engine. If the engine hasn’t been run, chances are there’ll only be enough hot water for showers for one day/night.

Everything was perfect. As you can see from previous reviews, David was amazing host, very polite and helpful. Yatch is beautiful and in very good condition. Harbour cruise was all worth money and a must. David provided everything required for the stay and was very quick with any communication.
It was just beautiful to sit on deck and enjoy the view.
Will do it again.
I surprised my partner with a day out sailing, David our skipper was very professional and very knowledgable. His Yacht is magnificent and very well presented. We had a great day sailing on his boat, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. We will definitely be coming back in summertime. Thank you so Much Kayla and Adam
David was a fantastic host, I couldn't speak anymore highly of the yacht or David. This experience is something any tourist or Sydney sider should experience. Next time ill be booking David will be for a sailing day trip but you must experience the stay over in the harbour!
Would like to say a big thank you to David. He made our stay very comfortable and certainly interesting.
He took us out during a race around the harbour which was really good fun especially as we had never sailed before.
Highly recommended, great host, great yacht. Very clean and tidy.
David's amazing yacht experience exceeded our expectations buy miles, everything was perfect , David was the perfect host, and was most accommodating, the yacht was beautiful and exactly as pictured. The moring near Taronga zoo was breathtaking as was the sail around the beautiful harbour and being picked up by our yacht after a night at the opera house made for one of the most enjoyable experiences ever.
We really enjoyed our stay in David's yacht.David really take good care of us,he prepared everything what we needed ,very thoughtful. We will definitely book his yacht again .
David as a host was fantastic, he made us feel very comfortable right from the start and was incredibly understanding and accommodating to our needs.
Staying on David's yacht out on the harbour was one of the best experiences i've had during my travels and it was great to share the cruise with a group of our friends before being dropped out into a secluded bay for the evening. We were dropped by the zoo and so the elephants and chimpanzees were a nice touch in the morning.
The views at sunset back over the bridge and harbour will be something I won't forget anytime soon.
The yacht itself is very comfortable, there are a good levels of plates, cups, utensils and cutlery on board. The beds were comfortable and the towels David provided were of a high standard.
I have already recommended this experience to many of my friends and would extend that recommendation to all interested Airbnb users out there. Hands down a better experience than a hotel but also refreshingly different.
Thanks again for all your help David and access to your great vessel. In the future we'll hopefully get back for another stay (maybe at Bondi this time).
