Stay in the spare room in my JP apartment! Just a couple of minutes to the subway in funky Jamaica Plain. You get a private room, access to the whole place and even laundry if you want. Close to a big park, shopping and eateries. Plus, free bacon!

The Space

Stay in a private bedroom in my spacious apartment in one of Boston's trendiest neighborhoods.

The T, Boston's subway system, is just a 5 minute walk away, giving you access to all of Boston. The orange line of the T brings you to the heart of the city within 20 minutes. From there, you can access other lines or buses that can get you wherever you need to go.

The room features a full sized bed, closet, dresser, and plenty of light in the mornings. Help yourself to a well equipped kitchen, dining room, living room (with plenty of books,) a tv room and a small yard if the weather is nice. I offer wifi, knowledge of the area and advice on getting around. Free laundry in the basement. On street free parking.

I hope you will feel at home. I'll leave oatmeal, yogurt and other basics around for you for breakfast and my fridge usually has plenty of room for your things. There is also an excellent bakery on your way to the T if you want to grab something on the go.

Jamaica Plain, or JP, is a trendy neighborhood south of downtown Boston full of art, great restaurants and a wonderful community. Near the house, you have Canto 6 bakery, Doyle's Bar, the Sam Adams brewery, Milky Way pizza and pasta--all within easy walking distance. The main drag of JP, Centre Street, is less than a mile away. There you will find countless other restaurants, bars, cafes and shops.

Franklin Park, the largest park in the city, is a few steps away. You can walk through the wilderness to get some peace and quiet, visit the zoo or play a round of golf if you like!

Finally, I make my own bacon and pickled veggies. I'll gladly share it with you if you like!

The Neighborhood

JP is a great 'hood full of all sorts of people, great restaurants, a funky scene and large parks.

Getting around

The T is close by. Also buses. The house is at the top of a hill so if you have a skateboard or roller skates, it's a quick trip out.

  • Our stay at Matt's place was great! Everything was neat, clean and well organized. Matt was friendly and flexible, and was very helpful with accommodating us with a late check in our first night. His place is in a nice area, and a short few minutes' walk to the T. Would definitely recommend, and would definitely stay there again if in the area.

  • This was a great place to stay while I was in town for research. It's super close to the T stop, and in a nice (and very green!) neighborhood. The apartment was really clean and had everything I could have wanted. Matt is super nice and helpful. I would absolutely recommend staying here.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Matt's house! It's really close to the subway station (5 min walk to Green station) which is very convenient to visit Boston. Matt is really nice, we arrived late thursday night because we had to drive for 7h (we are sorry again) and he waited for us. We really appreciate that. The place was clean and we had enough space in the room for our luggage. The neighborhood was also really quiet. Thank you for your hospitality!

  • Matt's place was great for our needs and he is a friendly, generous, and accommodating host. It's just a quick walk to the T station and an easy ride into the city, but Jamaica Plain has plenty of its own charms to explore. We were quite comfortable and I would recommend Matt to anyone coming to Boston, especially those like me who have allergies and sensitivities because he is accommodates such needs by not using strong-smelling detergents on the sheets and towels (which I very much appreciated), keeping the cat out of the bedroom, etc., . Go stay at Matt's!

  • Matt was a lovely host providing all that we needed for an intense two day visit in Boston. I'd definitely book a room here again if I'm going to Boston (website hidden) was a wonderful neighbourhood and the apartment is located near a subway stop.

I have lived in Boston for more than 10 years and have come to appreciate the city, it's neighborhoods and all of what New England has to offer. Before then, I lived on Long Island, NY, where I grew up. I spend a lot of time rock climbing, cooking and absorbing culture. I (email hidden), a fine wine and a well prepared meal but also don't mind slumming it (email hidden) and eating hot dogs on summer night. This is starting to feel like a dating profile so I'm going to stop...
