We had a very nice evening stay at Iris's place. It was clean and warm, and Iris greeted us warmly and gave us some hiking advice. The place was cozy and I would definitely it!
We had a great time at the alpinism cottage! Iris was so kind and welcoming to us and very willing to share her knowledge of Wanaka. The location was perfect, only a 5 minute walk to the lake and a lot of good bike tracks. Really private, cozy cottage with a full kitchen setup perfect for cooking dinner after playing outside all day. If we return to Wanaka we will be sure to stay here again!
Nice and quiet self contained alpine hut. Fully equiped kitchen. 5 min drive to city center.
Very friendly and helpfull host, with great knowledge about hiking. We did the diamont lake track: beautifull views!
Wonderful experience in Iris' cottage! She made me feel very welcome. She has wonderful herbs in the garden that she is happy to share. The cottage is adorable and very comfortable. It was nice to have a full kitchen. I highly recommend the alpine cottage!
We loved our one night stay at this little cottage. It has everything we needed to cook a meal and have a restful night; only wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks Iris for the warm welcome and info on Haast Highway walks. Blue Pools were beautiful but cold!
Lovely place, it was really cosy and warm. Also perfectly located. Iris was really helpful, gave us lots of info. She has a sauna which was did not get round to using but it was an amazing addition.
A wonderful place to stay! A private house with all you need. Iris was a perfect host, and we made use of nice places in the garden. A lot of information about the region was provided. Thanks!

Wanaka is a great - but still small - town for shopping, wine tasting, to indulge in art, browse the galleries, visit the cinemas. You can feel creative and inspired by the beautiful nature. Culinary wise, there are many cafés and restaurants to try and standards vary from fast food to fine dining. Massages, yoga, spas, gyms and other experiences are plenty fully available for pampering the body. Be in on land, water or in the air, you'll find many adventurous and/or relaxing things to experience in and around Wanaka. A favorite motto here: Life the Way it Should be:)
