  • Well, I must say I am rather speechless, where do I start? WOW!!! This
place was absolutely STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL! A group of me and my friends
came here about 3 weeks ago and had THE MOST amazing experience here in
Costa Rica! As this was my second time visiting this gorgeous country I
must say Ken and Alejandra most definitely outdid themselves as hosts!
Unfortunately I did not get to meet Ken, but his communication was
fantastic and very thorough. He was so incredibly accommodating with our
group and our needs. And then there was Alejandra.... This Beautiful warm
hearted woman was just almost heavenly, seriously she was so sweet and just
an angel to us. Making sure we had breakfast every morning with fresh juice
and making sure to inform is of tours and transportation accommodations.
OHHHH We all just had the most amazing time. The place was like a mansion,
there were 8 of us and they had 4 rooms ready for us. Super clean, and the
VIEW.... to die for. Overlooking the greenest most green trees of the
Forrest. The pool was a nice touch too just to lounge by and chill out when
we were not zip-lining and riding horses throughout the rainforest :) if
anyone were to ever ask me where I would recommend them to stay whilst
visiting Costa Rica, I wouldn't even think twice before mentioning this
place. SIMPLY THE BEST! I want to say A HUGE THANK YOU to you Ken and
Alejandra (and lil' Emiliano) for welcoming us to your wonderful abode! And
also thanks to the inventor of airbnb because this was my third time using
this website and I'm hooked and in LOVE! There is no other way to go. LOVE
LOVE LOVE ♡ Pura Vida xoxo

  • My wife and I spent two nights in the Birds of Paradise Guesthouse. We had an active week-long vacation planned with friends and were looking (email hidden) to spend time beforehand by ourselves.

Coming from NYC, Paradise B&B is exactly what we were looking for. Everything is so spectacularly beautiful. The grounds, the house, the views - simply breathtaking. Alejandra was an incredible host - very kind and helpful - she made us feel at home. She was a pleasure to talk with, gave us excellent recommendations, and we were treated to a beautiful breakfast both mornings.

If you are looking for a place to relax this is it. La Paz and Poas are a half-hour drive through the mountains and are really worth visiting, but we had just as good of a time relaxing on the terraces and in our room at Paradise B&B. The views are spectacular of both the lights from the central valley in the distance and the surrounding forests, hills and mountains - both day and night.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for some peace and tranquility. I hope we get the opportunity to stay here again.

  • Wow. Just wow. We felt a mild sense of despair after realizing Costa Rica doesn't follow the same general GPS/street setup the US does with simple directions and navigations. To our delight, the host arranged for someone to meet us at the car rental place and for us to follow through the winding, narrow roads up to what can only be described as majestic. Just inside two beautiful, yet inconspicuous gates, was something like I've never seen. The garden and magnitude of colorful flowers, koi pond, expansive views in every direction of lush green land mountains. At night, the city looked like huddled fireflies in the distance. The view from the jacuzzi bath tub was inspiring. We loved everything about this place: the cleanliness, the helpfulness from the hosts, the communication, the ambiance. Thank you for providing the space for such a wonderful trip.

  • Finca Paraiso is absolutely pristine! Very comfortable, clean, homey, and in a beautiful location... Ken and Alejandra are perfect hosts! They provide personal attention and prior to our stay Ken called me to provided GPS coordinates for my Garmin Nuvi. Their communication is excellent and both provided very helpful advice for local attractions, driving directions, and restaurants for our two nights there. Staying at Finca Paraiso was one of highlights of our Costa Rica trip.

(Tip: follow the directions provided by Ken on Airbnb and get NavSat for GPS if you are driving)

  • (email hidden) to stay we loved every minute. Beautiful house, kind hosts who make you feel part of the family, amazing views, yummy breakfasts, and our new best friend Franklin the dog, what's not to love?

Don't expect to be able to walk out the house and to shops/restaurants etc this is a few km drive from the village which makes for tranquil and stunning surroundings. Either rent a car or use Marcos the friendly local taxi driver and youll have a lovely time. We enjoyed the nearby poas volcano and dinners in town. Plenty to do x

  • My boyfriend and I had a less positive experiece. Although the place was located beautifully, we didn't like the room so much. When i booked i was promised the Anterium room, but after it was changed to the Cala room. the Cala room was very dark and especially the bed really small. The room only had a shower (the Anterium was to have a fireplace and a sauna). When i complained i didn't like the switch because the rooms obviously didn't have the same value, i was told i could get the second night reimbursed if i wanted to leave after the first night. After travelling more than 24 hours ofcourse i don't want to go through the hassle of finding another place the next day. I was very disappointed we got two bottles of wine instead of a discount. When i told Ken i wasn't happy about the situation i was told i could better leave as he wants people to feel 'home away from home'. Well, i didn't feel that way after that remark. Also it was supposedly my fault the rooms were changed, because i made a change in the dates. But he had obviously forgotten we agreed on a new room and new dates before i made my booking. Then when i was already on my way i received an email 24 hrs later a mistake had been made because 'i had changed the dates on him',that really pissed me off.

Ken's wife Alejandra was really sweet though and helpfull and Marcus the driver is also a nice boy. The swimmingpool was very small and it smelled a bit moldy in there. The steambath didn't seem to work (i didn't ask how it worked so it might have been working) and wasn't clean. The place where we got breakfast was absolutely beautifull with stunning views. As breakfast we got fresh juice, cofee and toast or pancakes with a bit of butter and marmelade en fresh fruits.

  • We've been beautifully receive by Ken's wife to this amazing place and went straight away to the relaxing swimming pool! And even had the chance to enjoy, a fresh homemade fruit juice, a turkish bath and a nice massage! We've been treated as kings and queens : the house, the rooms, the view and people were all gorgeous and fullfilling! They all wake up really early to give us breakfast, bring us to the airport at 6 o'clock and give to the remaining people a other massage! This was an unforgetable stay! Thanks a million!

  • We chose Finca Paraiso as our last stop on an amazing week in Costa Rica. It was the perfect place to refresh ourselves from the heat of the South Pacific coast. Ken helped in every way with great communications and checking in. We arrived a little late only because I didn't read his detailed directions accurately. Alejabdra assisted too and greeted us warmly. She took care of us in so many ways and packed a delicious fresh fruit breakfast for our early departure for Poas Volcan. We had a perfect clear day for viewing the volcano and then our lovely snack in the park! Amazing! We just loved the massage by Claudi, and the gardens and views from the room and the terraces. Ken is great AirBnB host. We will return to Finca Pairiso again!

My wife and I are retired traveling business people who have travelled almost all over the world. We appreciate quality accommodation with affordable prices. We enjoy socializing and meeting people from all over the world and making friends. We like to travel too and we use our place (email hidden) as well. With this in mind, we have built this B&B Spa which we call Finca Paraiso, "Paradise Estate" for its beautiful surroundings, fresh mountain air, tranquility while still close to San Jose and the international airport. We think of our guests as people with good taste who demand high quality accommodation, excellent service in both breakfast and Spa treatments and who seek a place to relax while enjoying the mountain activities near us, such as horseback riding, Poas Volcano, bird watching, or just to have a great dining experience at restaurants about 15 minutes from us. . Our standard amenities are free airport pickup, continental breakfast, fresh cut flowers, a basket of fruit and bottled water in each room. We offer a happy hour either wine or beer! Our motto is "Life is short so live the moment the best you can"
