Experience the all the island has to offer in central city location and car to get you from point A to point B.
Central city location in between Waikiki Beach and downtown Honolulu. With close proximity to freeway, buslines, and art venues this is a great location to be able to experience as much of Oahu as you can during your visit. World famous Waikiki Beach is 2 miles away and is a 10 minute drive or 20 minute bus ride.
SURFBOARDS AVAILABLE FOR YOU TO USE (a 9'0" longboard and a 7'6" mini-gun). I also have some boogie boards and snorkel gear that you can use for free. I can direct you to some of the best spots on the island -- and if I have a day off maybe even show you around a bit.
Room is a 2br and the other room is also a separate airbnb rental. Guests will likely be staying with other airbnb guests in the other bedroom. Bedroom in an INTERIOR bedroom with no window -- but is connected to an air conditioner which keeps the room cool.
I typically will pick up guests from the airport as well but sometimes am not able due to my schedule. If you book for 5 days or more I will offer this pick-up for no extra charge. If it is less than that I ask for $20 just to cover gas costs. (A cab would be $25/$30). I hope to make this as 'all inclusive' as possible so you only have to pay for your food/drinks - and the rest of the island is at your fingertips. I hate when you budget for a vacation and then once you arrive you have to pay extra for internet, extra for car, etc..... and before you realize it you have spent hundreds of $$'s more than you anticipated. There are a few places in Waikiki that are closer to the beach and cheaper but don't have these other amenities.
We are a short walk to the Neal S. Blaisdell Concert Hall and the Honolulu Museum of Art. If you are here for the last Friday of the month you will enjoy "Art After Dark" which is at the Honolulu Museum of Art and is an evening party from 6-9PM. Just down the street is Ward Centers and Kaka'ako which are where many locally owned stores/restaurants are located -- as well as a few chains. Also nearby is the BlueTree Cafe, where I play music during the evenings once/week. If you are a musician and want to play a tune with me or a singer/songwriter and want to play something in Hawaii I'd love to be able to facilitate that!
ABOUT ME: I am a 29 year old Michigan native, and moved to Oahu 5 years ago to reconnect with family in the Islands. By days I work as a clinical trial coordinator - helping physicians manage pharmaceutical trials. By nights I am an aspiring singer/songwriter, and can be found at open mics a few times a week pursuing my dreams on stage. I am also the lead singer of a local cover band called "20 Years Too Late". I am a very good tour guide and am always happy to share my favorite things to do in Hawaii.
It is my goal to make your time here as memorable as possible --- please feel free to ask any questions and I look forward to hearing from you!
convenient bus stops and a central station nearby.
Other Things to Note
*I currently have reserved parking but it is about a 10 minute walk from the apartment.
No drugs, no smoking in building.
I stayed at the apartment for a week and had a wonderful time! The art museum and palace are just across the street, and there are lots of stores in the area- I bought coffee and groceries and enjoyed breakfast with a view of the city from the awesome hammock in the living room every morning before walking down to the beach (which is not far). The bed was comfy and the apartment has everything you need for a visit. Highly recommend staying here- it is a great spot
We had an awesome first experience in Hawaii staying at Phil's. Room and bathroom were clean and had everything we expecteded. The room was just a few minutes from Waikiki and with the car being included in the package, it made the entire island more accessible. We actually used a backup car, because the car that was listed was in the shop for repairs. The car was an older model honda accord but it made blending in with the locals easy! We'd definitely use Phil's place again when we return to Oahu. Thanks Phil!
Philip is great host, super easy to communicate with. Thank you so much, if we ever go to Honolulu again, we will definitely stay here again!
Philip made my first Airbnb experience a good one! Everything was true to the ad. The beach cruiser was a great affordable way to see the island. Philip gave us a great recommendation for sushi restaurant Danaki which was only a few minute walk!
Our booking was last minute and Philip was able to accommodate on the quick. Modest clean apt with fresh towels and bedding. Smooth communication.
You're not gonna find a deal like this beautiful place that includes a car as well. liked the vibe of the place Philip made us feel welcome. Place is spacious, super clean, and the bed is so comfy! Awesome decor, good vibes, great deal.
