A jane's friend came to welcome us to the flat. This one is very well located in the heart of the ancient city. It's close to the coliseum and the forum (5minutes walk) and there is the metro station of cavour at 2minutes walk.
The flat correspond entirely to the description on airbnb.
Many little bars and restaurants are in the neighborhood but the street where the flat is, is quiet. So it was a very good stay for us!
This apartment was an amazing find. It's proximity to Termini station, other metro stops, and attractions like the Colosseum is unbeatable. It was hot during our stay but we survived with fans that Jane provided. The portable wifi was helpful but not reliable depending on location. The apartment is spacious but the shower is small. Overall amazing stay.
We arrived in Roma Termini train station we were able to walk (15 mins downhill) to the apartment where Allessandro (Jane's friend) came to meet us exactly when he said he would and checked us in, gave us lots of info on a local map of things to do, places to visit and also a list of recommended restaurants (with price range and location included - which we found very useful - in particular we enjoyed visited La Montecarlo which had a really local feel to it and a great atmosphere, as well as being unbelievably cheap but still delicious food).
The apartment was good with two fans that made the heat just about bearable, the living room was spacious and comfortable with a big dining room table. The kitchen was functional and the whole place suited the needs of two people just fine.
Location wise it was ideal - as said previously only a short walk to the station, also only a 10 min walk to the Colloseum, a 15 min walk to Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon and we even managed to walk to the Vatican and Saint Peter's (though this was a bit further but doable if you are keen walkers!)
We also explored the Travestere area across the river and found some awesome local restaurants and a food and drink festival along the river.
All in all a lovely stay. Highly recommended.
Fantastic apartment a short walk from the Colloseum. Very spacious and nice decor. Easy check in process despite our late arrival, and excellent communication from Jane throughout. We had a great stay
Didn't meet Jane when checking in. But the person who handed us the keys was really friendly and provided information about the apartment and the neighbourhood with maps etc. However, the apartment does not have any air conditional, so it can be really stuffy and warm during summer time. But there were two fans provided and was really appreciated although it was still really warm. The location alright, 15 mins walk to the termini. The apartment is cosy and big, luckily it is on the first level as there was no elevator. However, the portable wifi provided is not really working very well, very very bad connectivity that can't even load a single page on my laptop. Pretty useless even if we bring it out, can't really be bothered using that portable wifi. Luckily we had 3G on our phones. Actually the person whom we checked in with, knew there is bad connection/ problem with the portable wifi as we tried using it when he was still in the apartment. But he claim that it is because it runs out of battery. Although it is a nice apartment, but I won't be back.
Great location. It is an easy walk to the colosseum and it is close by the metro to get anywhere in Rome. The neighborhood is trendy with good restaurants. The street noise in the front of the house can get loud on a Saturday evening. There is free wifi in the apartment which is a plus. One caveat is the small shower, while this is often common in Europe, the direction of the water is unpredictable. The host provided toiletries, a map and included restaurant recommendations.
Jane's place was quite easy to find (although the number was not clearly printed on the wall) and in a very decent neighborhood and in close proximity to eateries, Colosseum. It is close to the Cavour station and that helped us to get around to Vatican city, etc. quite easily. This is a newly renovated house hence the rooms are quite clean.
Things we weren't happy about:
1. The sofa-bed in the hall is very uncomfortable (the middle portion is higher than the head portion) and squeaky.
2. The bathroom is tiny and does not appear renovated. The shower area is cramped and dirty. Water wouldn't drain out easily.
3. There was no door for the bedroom. There was only one sliding sort of glass thing which wouldn't slide easily hence guessing it wasn't a door after all. Since we were 2 couples on our trip, this was a bit of bother.
