Tintagel is a lovely North Cornwall village with several pubs, all within easy walking distance, child friendly & all serving food but really quiet as there is no real night-life.
It is a haven for walkers and those who enjoy the "simple pleasures" of being outside in beautiful countryside.
Tintagel Haven beach is a 5 minute walk away.
You can also walk to the Coast Path in either direction for stunning views and clearing cobwebs, with no need to take the car.
There are plenty of maps and information at the house on all manner of walks and attractions for all ages & interests.
Tintagel is famous for the mythical home of King Arthur and the ruins of the castle are also a 5 minute walk away.
We also have a lovely Old Post Office, which is now a English Heritage museum.
Close by is Boscastle, a picturesque village and old fishing port and also home to the Museum of Witchcraft, and if the tide is right, the Blow Hole. In the other direction is Port Isaac, used as the fictional home of Port Wenn for the TV series Doc Martin
Tintagel is within easy driving reach of all the other main Cornish attractions - Eden Project, Padstow, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Newquay and a number of other surfing beaches.
There is a basic bus service, but you really need your own transport to make the most of your stay here.
Sorry but no dogs or smoking allowed.
This is our home and we would love to share it with like minded people, who will look after and respect it as much as we do.
We do not allow smoking or pets, due to allergies.
Everything about this place is as described and even better in real life! We didn't get to meet Wendy but was always available on her mobile to answer any queries.
The house is amazing and plenty of sightseeing around the area itself.
There's a basket of leaflets and brochures etc on Cornwall which we found helpful in planning us plan.
Overall, a wonderful stay!
When we arrived we found there was an issue with the boiler. Wendy gave us the option to cancel, stay in a B and B (at her expense) or stay at the house and use the B and B for showers (we did this). She also refunded us for half our stay.
The house is lovely, lots of space and fantastic views. It is only a short walk from the town itself, location couldn't be better.
The house was fantastic - very roomy, modern and comfortable. It made a great base for exploring Tintagel and the castle, as well as some beautiful walks along the Coast Path.
To begin the welcome emails and information provided was fantastic and well used. The house was clean and great little touches. The tea/coffee was very welcome after a long journey.
The description of the house and location is what we received. Recommend a stay in this beautiful location. Sad to leave.
Wendy's house in Tintagel is a really comfortable and crisply clean place to stay. It feels fresh and new. Best of all there is level access to a bedroom and accompanying ensuite, so it was practical for our group of six that included seniors with limited mobility. The all-glass sunroom at the back is warm, bright and comfortable for reading, chatting and dining; it feels more like a part of the house than an add-on. We also enjoyed the two upstairs bedrooms with their skylights, each with a vew either of the coast or of the hills behind Tintagel.
There was a good supply of current information about the local area plus Wendy's helpful hints about the town including eating, shopping, walks and best times to visit.
