Tintagel is a lovely North Cornwall village with several pubs, all within easy walking distance, child friendly & all serving food but really quiet as there is no real night-life.
It is a haven for walkers and those who enjoy the "simple pleasures" of being outside in beautiful countryside.
Tintagel Haven beach is a 5 minute walk away.
You can also walk to the Coast Path in either direction for stunning views and clearing cobwebs, with no need to take the car.
There are plenty of maps and information at the house on all manner of walks and attractions for all ages & interests.
Tintagel is famous for the mythical home of King Arthur and the ruins of the castle are also a 5 minute walk away.
We also have a lovely Old Post Office, which is now a English Heritage museum.
Close by is Boscastle, a picturesque village and old fishing port and also home to the Museum of Witchcraft, and if the tide is right, the Blow Hole. In the other direction is Port Isaac, used as the fictional home of Port Wenn for the TV series Doc Martin
Tintagel is within easy driving reach of all the other main Cornish attractions - Eden Project, Padstow, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Newquay and a number of other surfing beaches.
There is a basic bus service, but you really need your own transport to make the most of your stay here.
Sorry but no dogs or smoking allowed.
This is our home and we would love to share it with like minded people, who will look after and respect it as much as we do.
We do not allow smoking or pets, due to allergies.
Great directions to the house, ideal position within walking distance to the centre but quiet, away from 'the tourists'! Absolutely stunning inside, clean and immaculate with lovely wooden and tiled floors. The downstairs bedroom is ideal for the elderly/disabled who cannot manage stairs, my parents loved the underfloor heating. Sadly we didn't meet Wendy, but she promptly resolved a minor 'plug' problem.
I highly recommend..and already have!
The house was well located, very comfortable and modern. It was lovely to have breakfast every morning at the sunny conservatory. Tintagel is a great base for someone who is looking to explore the North coast of Cornwall. There are lovely walks along the Coast path. There is also a basket full of very helpful information about Cornwall. We took Wendy's suggestion and went for a few (email hidden) Olde Malthouse Inn which is a few steps away from the house and we had a very lovely evening at this cosy and welcoming pub. Also worth visiting to have some fresh baked scones and Cornish pasties is the Pengenna. Very yummy! Thank you very much Wendy for making your lovely home available to us.
Everything about this place is as described and even better in real life! We didn't get to meet Wendy but was always available on her mobile to answer any queries.
The house is amazing and plenty of sightseeing around the area itself.
There's a basket of leaflets and brochures etc on Cornwall which we found helpful in planning us plan.
Overall, a wonderful stay!
When we arrived we found there was an issue with the boiler. Wendy gave us the option to cancel, stay in a B and B (at her expense) or stay at the house and use the B and B for showers (we did this). She also refunded us for half our stay.
The house is lovely, lots of space and fantastic views. It is only a short walk from the town itself, location couldn't be better.
