Tintagel is a lovely North Cornwall village with several pubs, all within easy walking distance, child friendly & all serving food but really quiet as there is no real night-life.
It is a haven for walkers and those who enjoy the "simple pleasures" of being outside in beautiful countryside.
Tintagel Haven beach is a 5 minute walk away.
You can also walk to the Coast Path in either direction for stunning views and clearing cobwebs, with no need to take the car.
There are plenty of maps and information at the house on all manner of walks and attractions for all ages & interests.
Tintagel is famous for the mythical home of King Arthur and the ruins of the castle are also a 5 minute walk away.
We also have a lovely Old Post Office, which is now a English Heritage museum.
Close by is Boscastle, a picturesque village and old fishing port and also home to the Museum of Witchcraft, and if the tide is right, the Blow Hole. In the other direction is Port Isaac, used as the fictional home of Port Wenn for the TV series Doc Martin
Tintagel is within easy driving reach of all the other main Cornish attractions - Eden Project, Padstow, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Newquay and a number of other surfing beaches.
There is a basic bus service, but you really need your own transport to make the most of your stay here.
Sorry but no dogs or smoking allowed.
This is our home and we would love to share it with like minded people, who will look after and respect it as much as we do.
We do not allow smoking or pets, due to allergies.
We had a wonderful week at the cottage! It was exactly as described and even better than the pictures. When we arrived everything was spotless and all the rooms really wowed us. The sofas were soft and comfortable as were the rooms. We loved the wet room too! The monsoon shower was amazing.
The cottage itself is in the perfect location. It's very central so we were only a minutes walk from the village high street, but at the same time it was quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the tourists during the day. We were also in a great location for Tintagel castle. As for driving, we weren't far from local villages, and Boscastle was particularly lovely! We would highly recommend the cottage for a stay in Tintagel and would love to return again in future. Many thanks.
Excellent location. Spotlessly clean with beautiful amenities and finishes. Highly recommended.
We were very well welcomed, it was easy to find and everything was perfect. The house is modern and very comfortable. The house is right on the South West Coast Path and is a walker's dream. Both East and West the walks are superb.
The location was just perfect. Tintagel isn't big, so everywhere is just a short walk away. The house is just around the corner from where any bustle may be so its nice and quiet. It is also close to lovely cliff by the Camelot Castle Hotel. Wendy wasn't around, but the house is very user friendly and everything we needed was there. For those who need to cook, the kitchen gives you ample space and equipment to do so. There isn't a supermarket for 30 minutes but the local butchers/green grocer and well a couple of small convenience stores are all you really need for local produce and essentials. I must also say the the house has been renovated to a very high quality. Overall, a fantastic place to stay in Tintagel.
We only had a few days in Cornwall, nowhere near enough time to do all that we wanted but we found Tintagel was a perfect base. The house was exactly as described and even though it ended up only being my husband and myself there it was still cosy and lovely. My husband was extremely impressed with the speaker system that he could just plug his ipod into and wow music everywhere! Wendy has a truly lovely home and everything was just as stated in her listing. She was wonderful to deal with and as we were travelling doing other things before arriving in Cornwall she made sure we had all relevant information before leaving home, giving me plenty of time to print out and make files, so much easier than trying to wade through emails on my phone. Wendy has heaps of guide books with so much information it makes it very easy to decide what to plan for the next day. Thank you for having us Wendy we had a truly wonderful, comfortable time in your home.
