Notes:
- our neighbor sells dried food, thus it attracts unwanted pest next door. We have tried our best to minimize its impact. So far it is quite ok.

- you may also book the entire house with 4 rooms or 5 rooms(including our Zen Villa)

  • The place was very nice. It was very close to Jonker Street and the Stadhuys so it really helped me to get around Malacca. Also, the host did put some effort in the hostel, and it has a traditional Chinese flavor to it. The overall experience was great. Last but not least, they have a really friendly housekeeper.

  • The place was ok. There was no air conditioning which knew before and the fan under the ceiling (which was a bit noisy) kept it cool enough during the night. However, without any earplugs it would have been a bit too noisy probably. The place is certainly not luxurious, but good enough for a night or two. What I did not like at all was the Wifi connection. It was not working even though I explicitly asked before if there was any issue with the WIfi and I got confirmed that the wifi would work. In any case it was no high speed wifi. It did not really reach the room. The communication with the housekeeper was limited to hand and foot signs as she did not speak a single word of English. So in the end the communication was by phone with Lainux. That was ok, but it was not perfect as he could not be around personally and explain things in the room or get the wifi running again. The prepared instructions for the room were however pretty good. So I got along. The place is well located so that you could do everything in walking distance. Due to the not working WIfi I would probably not go there again. I would also not have liked to stay there for more than one night.

    Response from Lainux:

Sorry about the internet. It was working before, and even working the next day. So, I really do not know what went wrong.

The WIFI signal is actually strong enough when you are in the room, I always sleep in that room when I visit Malacca.

  • Not the most comfortable place, but backpackers would love it.
Its right in the middle of real life Malacca, what is amazing.

About
I like to travel and love to stay at alternative lodging to hotel. After getting involved in this BNB project, I have become more handy. I believe in a unique experience & design. Thus, most of our places are done by me & friends. Many furnitures are done by me. I am now able to do plumbing work, electrical wiring(though I have degree in EE), carpenting & more. I enjoy all the challenges I faced. I believe in recycle, reuse & repurpose. You can see many of the things used are done this way. Also, I tried to work many of the eco friendly elements into my places. Latest project was a solar water heater, rain water & air cond water collection for toilet flushes. I hope you like my designs & effort that I put in. Do feel free to drop me a line for anything.
