HI! We are new to AirBNB but have lots of reviews on Home Away. ((website hidden))
Our 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, fully furnished home is located in Boquete, a beautiful mountain town nestled in the western highlands of Panama,in an area known as "the valley of eternal spring".Boquete is a bio-diverse town, famous for its coffee, its flowers, its juicy seedless oranges, sweet strawberries, rare orchids, and abundant wildlife.
Boquete will enhance your health, even if you stay for just a short time. It is a land of fresh air, crystal mountain springs, organic fruits, veggies, and meats. Across the road from the casa there is a "Curvas", the ( coed) Latin American version of Curves. Membership is not required, and the fees are only $8 / week or $ 25 / month..
A top quality reverse osmosis water filtration system has been installed in our home. There is no need to fear what the drinking water will do to your tummy.
Boquete's restaurants are wonderfully varied, they feature cuisines of Latin America and Europe. Our personal favorites are the two Peruvian restaurants.
You can be as active as you choose to be while in Boquete: there are river rafting excursions (class II up to IV+), horse rentals, rented ATV tours, coffee farm tours, kayaking, golf, bird-watching, spectacular mountain hikes and a thrilling zipline canopy tour.
When you are ready for a day at the beach, the pristine beaches of Playa La Barqueta are only 45 minutes away, just south of David. Surfing, fishing, kayaking, beachwalking, bicycling, shelling and birding are all available there..
The very best feature of this home is that the owners pay for the services of a housekeeper and a gardener. While living in our home, you will have a REAL holiday.!
Groceries can be obtained 100 metres away, there is a spa across the street, and many small restaurants in the vicinity.
Interaction with Guests
We are Canadians who live in Panama during the winter months ( Nov - March ) We have hired a property manager for our casa. Renters will be well cared for .
We love the climate, which is spring like year round.
Taxis can be flagged down in front of the casa. Boquete itself is 5-10 minutes away by car,
David is 30 minutes away, and the beach at Playa Barquete is 45 minutes away from our casa.
Other Things to Note
Home is completely surrounded by a sturdy metal fence. It is secure.
Water is filtered by a reverse osmosis system. Completely safe from parasites and such.
No smoking and no pets, please.
This is a new home, nicely kept.
Directions for WIFI, Cable TV and all appliances will be available.
The ( highly trusted ) housekeeper will ensure that the house is cleaned every Saturday, and the gardener will come to deal with weeds every Thursday..
We passed 4 nights at Casa Las Mellizas, the house was perfect for our needs and spent wonderfull time during our visit to Boquete. We spent great time doing activities during day light around Boquete (zip line, canopy, horse ridding & hikking) and enjoyed when we were back to Casa Las Mellizas for dinner and relax.
The house had everything we need and the owner replied inmmediately to any question we had.
About the Host, Justine
My husband and I are Canadian "snowbirds", which means we flee Canada's cold winters in the fall to head for warmer climates, usually in the Caribbean.
My husband worked in oil production and I was an elementary schoolteacher. We have been retired for about twenty years now.
Our home is located in Kelowna, British Columbia, which is a resort city. But we love to travel ( we've been to about 65 countries so far ) and will continue to do so as long as we are able. In the fall of 2013 we are heading to India and Bali.
I love to read, history especially. My husband loves to watch TV, politics especially.
We have hosted many exchange students in the past ( from Thailand, Japan, Costa Rica, Germany, France ) as well as adults. We are completely comfortable with the hosting experience.
