The Space

This luxurious and super-chic mini-apartment is one big open-space environment with a beautifully finished small Private Bathroom and gourmet Chef's Kitchen. It has exposed brick and one of the walls still has the original 18th Century Fresco.

It's really very cool, and also ideal if you'd like to do some cooking and have a nice candle-lit dinner at home, or make your own breakfast and lunch.

The very large sofa-bed with new mattress is also quite comfortable and the place is very well lit with natural light - It also obviously comes with all of our classic amenities, including free 24/7 Wi-Fi and Independent AC, and designer bedding and towels.

The guesthouse is conveniently located in the heart of 18th Century Rome, right off the corner of one of Rome's main plazas, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II. It's just a 5 minute walk away from the central Train Station Termini, and the famed Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, and just a 15 minute passeggiata to the Roman Forum and Colosseum.

Feel free to contact us if you need more information and we'll answer as fast as possible.

Guest Access

The guesthouse also has two other rooms, all with a shared foyer, and on request and weather permitting guests may have access to our beautiful roof-top lounge.

Interaction with Guests

Privacy and safety guaranteed. We're here if you need us as we do live in the building, but our guests' privacy is paramount.

We spend time with you at check-in, to explain the map, make some recommendations, answer any questions you may have and give you the low-down on this crazy and beautiful city - But we never intrude.

The Neighborhood

The multi-ethnic neighborhood of Esquilino is rich in both diversity and vibrant city life. There are incredible markets, cheap Roman bistros, and an old-school gelateria you won't find anywhere else in the city!

Getting around

Getting around is very easy with the vast majority of sites, including the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and Piazza Navona, easily reachable on foot. For the rest there's the Metro A line Vittorio Emanuele stop at 100 meters from the guesthouse.

Other Things to Note

Amenities include: Independent Air Conditioning/Heat, Free 24/7 Wi-Fi, and Towels & Linens included. You'll get a set of keys and be able to come and go as you please. Breakfast is not included.

  • Amazing stay!!! Cant say enough positive things about Frank, he took the time to show us on a map all the must do's in Roma, allowed us to leave our luggage in a secure location since we arrived so early, and even found us a link for tickets to the sold out Stones concert and made a reservation for us at a wonderful restaurant for our last dinner in town. If the weather is nice be sure to see if you can use the roof top terrance, what a great location. Frank thanks again for a top notch experience, the loft was perfect for the two of us and couldnt have asked for a better experience, see you in a few years!

  • We had a very pleasant stay in Rome!
The apartment is really nice, very charming, we loved it!
We were very well received by Franck, a very nice person who took the time to give us lots of advice (outings, restaurants, transport ...) for that our weekend be successful.
At 5 min walk to a metro station, ideal to get away from the city. Termini train station is 10 min walk.
And 15 min walk to the Colosseum.
    We recommend this apartment.
    Thank you Franck (& Soledad)!

  • This was an absolutely perfect first airbnb experience. The apartment is in a great location, easy walk from Termini, right by the Metro, close to the Colosseum and extremely safe. My sister and I stayed there and never once felt unsafe coming home- and the building itself is extremely secure. The loft apartment is perfect- extremely clean and looks just like the pictures. Just enough space for 2, and we thought the bed was comfortable. Is the shower situation a little strange? Yes it is, (there is a shower head in the corner, and the entire bathroom basically is the shower stall so you shower next to the toilet) but it is clean and functions just fine so we got over it very quickly.

As you will read in other reviews, do NOT lose Frank's map!!!! It is invaluable and really helped us find everything we were looking for and much much more in Rome. Frank happily sat with us for at least 30 minutes upon arrival to review everything and point out great places to see, eat, and drink and how to beat lines at major attractions. Overall we cannot say enough great things about our stay here and we would not only stay here again but would highly recommend it to friends.

  • I arrived with my niece and we both were delighted with Frank and Soledads place. Modern yet so Italian! G We did not spend much time there, but loved how beautiful it was, with modern amenities, WiFi, etc.. Even though Frank was not there to greet us, he had a friend come and meet us - so that we did not have to worry about a thing. One of the best things - it is a block away from a Metro Station, taking us to everywhere we wanted to go. I highly recommend Frank and Soledad's place to anyone looking for a great, quiet place to spend in Rome!

  • Frank's space was fantastic, exactly as pictured, centrally located, etc. etc. etc. Frank was also extremely helpful and accommodating, making note of spots of interest in the area and always there if/when needed. Flexible check-in and out times were very appreciated as I arrived quite late and left quite early. Bathroom is genius and practically self-cleaning.

    Two notes:
    - bed is a pull-out couch (as pictured) and can be kind of squeaky but otherwise comfortable
    - space *is* an entire apt, complete w/ kitchen, bathroom, locked door, etc., but the foyer is shared with two private rooms

Would definitely recommend to others and would be happy to stay there again the next time I'm in Rome.

Last, but not least, we were received by Franck who has been a lovely and helpful host.

  • Frank and Soledad's loft was the perfect haven for me and my husband on our short trip to Rome. We were surprised how easy it was to walk to the Metro and its very near to the shopping district too. The loft is gorgeous and it was the first thing I was so happy about during my first trip in Italy. Frank was very accomodating and offered us suggestions when we were going off to the airport. Frank also took the time to sit down with us and familiarized us with the map of Rome which was sooo helpful. He had some good insights and tips! This loft has everything you need, wifi, hot water and a wonderful kitchen. We would definitely come back to stay with Frank on our next trip to Italy which is I hope, very soon! Thank you for everything Frank and Soledad! Much love! xoxoxo
