An eclectic melting pot of cultures and characters make Portobello a constantly lively and fun place to visit. You might rub shoulders with celebs in E&O restaurant one minute and get a coffee in one of the authentic Portuguese cafes the next. Get down with the local DJs at the Mau Mau bar or watch a band at the Tabernacle. With Moroccans, Spanish, Portuguese, Caribbean and more recently American bankers, there is always something new to experience. From posh to bohemian from market stall to Michelin restaurant, there is something for everyone.
We are a 10 minute walk from White City station on the Central Line and a 15 minute walk from Wood Lane or Ladbroke Grove on the Hammersmith and District Line. We are also very close to major bus routes which go into central London and other parts of the city, many of which run all night.
I'm so glad I chose for Sallyjo and her family! Sallyjo is wonderful. She really cares and does her utmost to make you feel at home. She makes sure that your stay at her place and in Londen is all that you hoped for; helps you to make plans if you like, gives a map and suggests interesting places to go to.
The children are very pleasant too. I loved having them around me when I was in the kitchen or being somehow part of the family when I was at home. Because that is how it feels within minutes: at home. These special people really make you feel at ease.
Savas, Sallyjo's husband, is also very kind and helpful. When I for instance wasn't sure of the route I could take on the bike I'd rented, he searched the internet for me and printed me a map. He suggested it himself, I didn't even had to ask. And the bread he makes has reached perfection: healthy and gorgeous.
The room was also very nice, as is the balcony. And I was glad I could use the kitchen (and everything else downstairs) as if it was my own; not only for breakfast but I could also make myself a salad in the evening if I felt like it.
I can full heartedly recommend to book this B&B!

Very friendly family and easy to get along with and helpful with suggestions etc. Especially a medical centre which was needed and very close by. Quiet neighbourhood. Shops etc within 2 minute walk plus a HUGE Westfield shopping centre around 20 minutes walk away. Room did have balcony and even though a train line is quite close to house it was not too annoying. Sally and Savvas live a very casual easy going lifestyle so if you can accept that all will be good.Enjoyed my stay.
Sally's family is so lovely and kind. And facility is clean and comfortable. We felt warm heart while staying here. There is a super market, park and bus stop near here. The bus station go some sightseeing spot easily. And there are so fantastic parakeets in trees. we never forget that remember. So miss sally's family. We visit someday and contact again.
Nice room in a busy family home. Beautiful home , very far out of the city for a tourist. We took the tube or bus back into the city daily.
Sally was the warmest person you can find in London, she welcomes you not like a guest but like an old friend. Honestly you'd feel terribly sad to leave!
I cannot say enough good things about our stay with Sallyjo and her family! They were all so nice and made us feel right at home. Upon arrival, Sallyjo was very warm and welcoming. She gave us a lot of information about how to get around the city and some maps to use while we were there. Nothing was too much trouble! Her home is in a perfect location - close enough to the city that you can get there very quickly, but far enough out that you have a peaceful and comfortable place to come back to after a long day of sight seeing. They even laid out a nice breakfast for us each morning, including some delicious homemade bread her husband, Savas, made! When we did have to leave and head to the airport, they made sure we knew where to go and even looked up when the next bus was coming. Needless to say, it was a great way to end our trip!
You are welcomed to a charming, art filled family home where you quickly walk up to your private balcony room. The bed, warm and comfortable is perfect for a rest from travels or day trips. Fresh made bread, coffee and tea set you up for your day's outings. Charming, kind hosts and delightful family are all part of the experience. This is not a bed and breakfast, nor hotel -- you feel like you are staying with new found friends in their home.
