Charming one Bedroom apartment (45M2) in the heart of Montmartre, in a nice early 20th century bourgeois building. You'll be staying on the hype side of the hill of Montmartre, like a genuine "Montmatrois".Literally 5 minutes walk from the Sacré-Coeur
Located on the ground floor, the place is facing a large private garden (no access) with flowers, and birds singing in the trees. It is calm, cosy and easily accessible. You will love the charm of the hIgh ceiling, the wooden floor and the two fire-places (only for decoration). The flat is nicely furnished with French antiques and vintage furnitures from the 50s and 60s, and decorated with objects and original pics from my travels in Asia.
The bedroom (20m2) has a large and comfy (firm-orthopedic) king size bed, a beautiful fireplace (decorative), high ceiling, wooden floor and very soft silk and wool persian rugs.
The living room (20m2) looks over the garden and has a TV (cable, no DVD), wifi (high-speed), hifi (ipod deck, CD, Radio), sofa ( 2mx1m), dining table and two "french bridge 60s" style armchairs, a designer wooden desk, an electric piano, a guitar, a nice "french club style" armchair and bookshelves (english and french books, Paris guide book and maps). A Tunisian wool rug gives a warm atmosphere to the room.
The kitchen looks over the garden as well, and has all amenities: oven and micro-wave, induction plates, fridge, Nespresso coffee maker, toaster, washing machine and dryer.
The bathroom encompasses bathtub, sink, toilet and a large water heater.
To make sure you keep up with your yoga or your meditation during your stay you'll find a yoga/pilates mat, an exercise ball and other accessories for core exercises. Note that towels and bedsheets are of course provided as well as everything you may need for your comfort.
*Bars and Restaurants:
Across the street is a very nice bar and restaurant "Le restaurant de la Butte", typical parisian café, open from 7 till 2am. Next to the appartment is a very nice coffee shop open from 8am till 7pm which serves declicious home made cakes and organic/ natural food and drinks. The area is full of bars and restaurants (french, italian, chinese, thai and north-African cuisine).
You are less than 15 minutes walk from the main touristic attractions of the area: Sacré-Coeur, Montmartre Museum, Dali Museum, Moulin Rouge and the places of the movie "Amélie". The flea and antiques market "Puces de Clignancourt" is 3 stops away or 25-30 minutes walk.
It is 5 minutes walk from the metro line 12 (Lamarck-Caulaincourt) and 15 minutes from line 4 (Chateau-Rouge).
Gare du Nord is 2 stops away. CDG airport is 30 minutes by cab (no traffic) or an hour door-to-door by train from Gare du Nord.
Direct line to Notre-Dame, Saint Germain, and the Museum of Quai d'Orsay (impressionists).
Direct buses to the Louvre, and the Museum of Quai Branly. Lots of bicycle stations "Velib" system around.

We enjoyed our 11 day stay at Sophie's studio from Oct 17 - Oct 28 2014. Sophie's home offered us a very comfortable stay in a quiet area of Montmatre, with all the shops and services needed close at hand. We would definitely stay here again if it is available. Thanks Sophie ...
Sophie made us feel very welcome and gave us a lot of very useful information, both before and during our stay. It is a fantastic location with very short walks to Montmartre, the Cathedral, the local highlights and the Metro. We felt very much at home in her charming apartment and the locality.
We real enjoyed our short stay and would repeat it if the opportunity arose.
Sophie's apartment is just as described. Very spacious and comfortable. In a great neighborhood of Montmartre. In walking distance to so many wonderful sights! Thank you Sophie for a wonderful time!
My husband and I stayed in Sophie's apartment for eight days in September 2014. The apartment is comfortable with airy high ceilings, charming decorative fireplaces, and windows that open up to a courtyard garden. It's in a very quiet building and neighborhood, which helped when we were sleeping late adjusting to the time change. We chose this apartment for the king sized bed, which didn't disappoint. Other amenities that we enjoyed include the bathtub/shower with great hot water and pressure, the washer/dryer, the Nespresso machine, and the Wifi.
The apartment was easy to find and less than a five minute walk from the Lamarck-Caulaincourt Metro stop. The streets surrounding are dotted with bistros and shops and markets--everything you need is nearby. A short walk will bring you to the Basilica Sacre Coeur or Place du Tertre. There is plenty to explore nearby, or hop on the Metro and head south to the main area of Paris.
We were fortunate to meet Sophie in person. She was extremely friendly and hospitable. Overall we had a wonderful experience. Sophie's place was a perfect home away from home and jumping off point for all of our sight seeing in this charming city. We would certainly recommend her to friends and consider staying here again if we ever return.
I stayed with my boyfriend at Sophie's cozy apartment Aug. 30-Sept. 3. It was cute and clean and provided everything we needed. Sophie herself was there to meet us, and she seemed lovely. She left some maps and guide books for us, as well as a carton of welcome orange juice (which we forgot to drink :( ). I would have no qualms staying there again.
Main PROS: Great neighborhood (go to the Italian place she recommends!), washer/dryer, large bed, good shower (hot water & good pressure), WiFi.
Very small cons: No English language TV, we couldn't get the heater in bathroom to work, couch a little uncomfortable, and mattress a bit too soft for my boyfriend (it was fine for me). None of these are major drawbacks at all, and we weren't in Paris to sit around the apartment anyway.
I would heartily recommend this apartment. The neighborhood really is great, and a short a walk from the Metro.
Glad you enjoyed your stay and thanks for your comments. Regarding the cons: most parisians don't use heaters in summer, even if August was rainy. So I usually don't give any directions to my summer guests. The couch is an Ikea high-end design, two years old, and may be used as a single bed on which I placed 7 cushions. I'm sorry you did not enjoy them as much as I do. Finally, no one has ever complain about not having channel in english, as I guess most guest are not coming to Paris, or staying at a parisian's, to watch english channel. You could have done so by using a tablet and the wifi high speed connexion.
If I was using heater in summer, offering channels in english, an hyper luxurious sofa and changing towels everyday I guess my price could not be 65 euros a night.
We stayed in Sophie's apartment for 8 days and it was lovely! Great Montmartre location and home to come back to after a long day of sight seeing! Washer and dryer combo was also very convenient sine it was so hot ok Paris and we definitely went trough clothes quickly. Sophie was very helpful whenever I had a question and we only wish we could have met in person and said hello! I would definitely book this apartment again if staying in Paris. Thank you for an amazing honeymoon!
My girlfriend and I stayed at Sophie’s apartment for 3 nights. we really enjoyed my stay, the apartment was clean, tidy, light, airy and comfortable. The lounge and bedroom was spacious and with homely touches. The apartment is in a great location, 5 minutes walk to Sacre Coeur and there are really nice restaurants, bars and shops nearby,we were spoilt for choice! Sophie seemed polite and friendly although we didn't meet. She had explained she was unable to meet us but sent some instructions and top tips on things to do in the area before my arrival.
After our stay Sophie mentioned I didn’t communicate frequently enough, which was surprising as I sent a number of emails responding to her requests. (see summary below). This was my first time using the airbnb website so perhaps I was not familiar with all the appropriate procedures, but I will know to be very diligent next time ! Thank you for letting us stay at your apartment Sophie, we're very grateful ! :)
After her approval on the 16/4/14 I paid for the booking on the 16/4/14 and emailed her explaining I hadn't included my mobile number yet as we were in Australia and would cost her a fortune to call. On 19/4/14 I emailed Sophie an estimate of our arrival time & explained we were waiting on confirmation of our Eurostar departure time. On the 7/5/14 Sophie politely asked for a reminder of our departure time from which on the 8/5/14 I confirmed our arrival and departure times. On the 2/6/14 Sophie kindly sent the House guide and rules and said to let her know if I had any questions. I didn't but responded with confirmation of our arrival and departure times again and explained I would be unable to email the next few weeks due to work and travelling. On 19/6/14 Sophie emailed asking our arrival and departure times again. I wasn't able to reply until the 24/6/14 as we'd been travelling but confirmed we had the house guide she sent and I included my phone number in the response as I now had international roaming connected. On the 27/6/14 Sophie again asked for confirmation of receipt of her message again which I had replied already to, although again we'd been travelling and I didn't see this email until we were already in Paris so I can see this may of worried her. Sorry about that Sophie I thought everything was sorted by this stage and we weren't ignoring you. I suspect the confusion must have been in Sophie not receiving some of my emailed responses?
As I said above I will be extra careful in the future to ensure communication is clear! Thanks again for letting us stay at your apartment Sophie :)
