We enjoyed staying at Lucas studio very much it was in a great location and had everything we needed. We caught up with Luca for a coffee and he gave us some good suggestions for places to eat and things to do. Would definitely recommend the studio and we found Vernazza to be a good place to stay when visiting the Cinque Terra. Thanks Luca for having us ☺
We had a wonderful stay at Luca's apartment.
As a host Luca has excellent communication and we felt very well looked after. We were met by the lovely Miriana who ensured we knew where everything was.
The apartment is in a fantastic location, quiet and private (but bring an eye mask for sleeping - the streetlight outside is very bright!), yet so close to the main street where we enjoyed having a drink as the sun set and trying a different restaurant each night. Great location too for setting off on the many different walks available.
We were welcomed by a very accommodating and helpful friend of Luca's, Nadia. Vernazza is as difficult to access as advertised, especially after rainstorms. She patiently waited for us to go around by other roads that had not been washed out. The studio with mezzanine was as expected - a well-equipped kitchenette, ample towels and sheets, in a historical building in the very heart of town. The area in November is very damp and the apartment (and many other places) smells strongly of mildew, to which one becomes accustomed within minutes, but it's a surprise on entry despite the presence of a dehumidifier. The shower is surprisingly spacious and with plenty of hot water. A hair dryer is provided as well as a TV and ample outlets for all gadgets. There is a welcome vestibule to leave muddy boots and umbrellas. Sunday morning 7 a.m. there is an "angelus" - 24 strokes of the church bell, be forewarned! as well as every hour from multiple churches, just a part of the charm. The streetlight shines strongly into the lower part of the studio at night; bring a sleeping mask if such bothers you, but you won't need a nightlight, either. The place is tiled below, and wood floor in the mezzanine, with modern taste, recently redone, and with high ceilings. Luca kindly provides condiments, sugar, and coffee and tea in the morning - though for coffee, you must adapt to the Italian espresso style and the iconic Bialetti maker (we did, gladly)!
Our 21 year old daughter stayed at Luca's studio. He was completely responsive to her and me, met her and got her established. She loved the studio. It was very attractive and clean and perfect for her. She felt comfortable and safe.
Luca's apartment in Vernazza is great! We felt like we were experiencing Cinque Terre as a local, living just off the Main Street in town. There are only a few steps to the front door and inside room for all our family - us and two children demanding separate beds. Kitchen was well appointed and easy to use for cooking meals. Recommend the place as close to the harbour, shops, but still in a residential area. Michael and Nicolette
The apartment was lovely and perfect for our stay in Vernazza. The location was even better, allowing you to step out (well 5-10 steps) directly onto the Main Street, which after doing the coastal walks is an absolute blessing!
Luca popped in to say hello on our last day and he was lovely. Very knowledgable of the area and gave us some of the history of Vernazza and its surrounds.
Thank you, Luca for a wonderful stay and if you ever find yourself in Australia we'd be more than happy to return the favour.
