The Space

I have an incredibly adorable conveniently located apartment in the heart of Fort Greene. Super gay friendly. When I say BNB, I really mean that. I am constantly cooking and creating things. I love to entertain and host people. Every train to Manhattan is accessible in less than a 4 minute walk, magically designed Fort Greene park across the street, and BAM cinemas, a theater, an opera house, all steps away. My apartment is very cozy, yet spacious. There are 2 bedrooms, and an eat in kitchen and private bathroom. My style is classic and calm.
I have a Yamaha upright piano, and a kitchen with plenty of cooking space, and every appliance known to a chef. I have great wifi, a central speaker/stereo system, but no television.
The living room is great for hanging out or entertaining, or just having some wine and looking out the window that faces the quiet, tree lined street. I have air conditioning, and an extra bicycle for guests. I have lived in Brooklyn for quite some time so I am an excellent source of information. Keep in mind I have two quiet and friendly cats that live here as well. Cafes, restaurants, shopping, and a flea, and farmers market on Saturdays, and many other things to do just steps away. I am an excellent source of information in "going ons" in the city. Look forward to meeting you.

The Neighborhood

It's quaint, feels like a small vacation neighborhood in the midst of this urban jungle.

  • Bretton was a great host. He accomodated me at the last minute. He was helpful and friendly. His place is located in a great part of Brooklyn, on a quiet strteet. The bedroom and bathroom are small, but not unlike the true NYC experience. It was great for me because I was out and about mostly, and just needed a place to crash at night. Also, he has the two most friendly cats in the world!

  • Amazing host, amazing flat, amazing cats, amazing area - what more could you expect from AirBnB. Hard to compete for any hotel! Truly unique experience!

  • I had a good stay with Bretton. He was a super friendly host who met me at the apartment when I checked in and gave me some good recommendations for eating out around the area and in manhattan. He works nights at a restaurant though and I was out of there early every morning because of my own schedule so we did not have a lot of contact after I checked in. But the neighborhood is great and feels safe walking around at night. It is is also easily accessible to most points via subway.

My only warning would be if anyone has cat allergies or has issues with cat hair. he does have 2 cats that "use" the room/bed when it's not occupied by guests... It makes it hard to wear dark colored clothes.

  • Bretton let me stay at his place on very short notice (after someone else had cancelled on me). The room and the rest are exactly as described, Bretton is very friendly, his two cats are cute - I can only recommend it.

  • Bretton has a cozy home, it's close to subway stations and a bunch of restaurants/bars; really convenient and safe neighborhood to live. He's very friendly, happy to answer all your questions. I loved waking up from his piano songs, or smelling something delicious. His cats are adorable, I wish they are mine!

  • I wanted to stay an extra day in Brooklyn and I wanted to Airbnb it. I was lucky to find that Bretton had his room available in a very convenient section of Fort Greene. Bretton was friendly and hospitable and his two cats were the best (if you like cats- these are not shy at all). I would seriously consider staying here again!

  • I booked this recent stay on behalf of a friend and she had this to say:
My recent stay with Bretton was nothing short of amazing. Being a 23 year old girl and my first time staying in an Air B&B, I could not have asked for a warmer welcome, nor more comfortable stay. Bretton is an incredible chef (welcoming you to try his latest creations) & has great local knowledge to draw from. He's a GREAT hang and also gives you space to come & go as you please (the perfect housemate!)
I stayed with him and his delightful cats, Sparkles & Whitman, for a month and miss them and the beautiful little Fort Greene place already! It is very clean, cosy, warm & a very comfortable bed (hard to pull yourself away from!). The location is perfect, being so close to the subway, and there are lots of cute little restaurants in the area to choose from. Recommend this highly to anyone looking for a homely, comfortable place to rest in an otherwise crazy city. I could not have stayed with a nicer guy or friendlier cats!

  • Bretton was a great host during my short stay in Brooklyn. The apartment is very comfortable and the friendly cats are an added bonus!

  • Charming apartment, friendly cats (you just need to learn to say no to them) and nice host. I stayed there for nine days, and I almost felt like I actually lived there.

Hey there. My name is Bretton. I hail from the exciting land of Wisconsin, and I have been living in NYC for the last 8 years. I describe myself as an artist of life, and i'm a very creative person. I am a pianist, a cook, a yoga teacher, and a lover of music. I also run a restaurant in Manhattan. I am pretty easy going at home, and chances can catch me playing piano, or I'm in my kitchen making a fresh pastry, a cake, or something delicious to eat. I love traveling, which is why i do air bnb. I have stayed at many places in other parts of the world, and I love hosting people, and giving people the "IN" to NYC and Brooklyn. You can mind your own space and be quiet, or you can chat up a conversation with me. I'm a valuable resource for NYC as I love to get out and I am very social. Come stay with me!
