Whether you're in town for a short business trip or here to explore this wonderful city with its beautiful gardens, fantastic gastronomical offerings and enticing shopping opportunities, we know you'll enjoy your stay with us. Located less than a minute away from the famous Chapel Street in South Yarra, our apartment is ideally located for all with a plethora of shops, markets, cafes, bars and restaurants at your doorstep and bus, tram and train stops to the CBD and St Kilda all within a few minutes walk.
THE ROOM: Awaiting you* will be your own private room furnished with a comfy queen-sized bed, a wardrobe and a large spacious drawer for any clothes you may wish to hang or put away, a selection of books, a long window that lets in loads of afternoon light (with roll-down blinds for privacy). Towels are also provided and no cleaning fee - hooray!
THE AREA: our apartment is situated just behind Chapel Street - one of Melbourne's most popular and well-known streets frequented for it's terrific cafes, bars, restaurants, op-shops and high street brands. South Yarra is conveniently located between Melbourne's CBD and the famous beachside suburb of St Kilda.
Also within a 5 minute wander are:
- three large supermarkets (Coles, Woolworths Safeways and Aldi)
- a fabulous food market (the Prahran Market)
- atm/cash machines
- a post office
- the Jam Factory cinemas
- a plethora of shops
- heaps of cafes/restaurants
- tonnes of bars/pubs
- convenience stores (7-eleven, etc)
...and pretty much anything else you might need!
YOUR HOSTS: We are both chefs who come from mixed backgrounds (Nat is half Swiss - half Singaporean and was born in the Philippines and Justin is a New Zealander born in South Africa to British parents). We love to travel, watch movies, experience new adventures, go to festivals/concerts, talk food/cook food/eat food/buy food, plan misadventures and spend time relaxing at home or at the park (or at the beach).
We're both house-proud and like to keep our home feeling cozy and clean and... well, homey! We don't wear shoes inside our home or pile up mountains of dishes but we aren't perfectionists either. We want you to enjoy your stay and feel at home, so please do let us know if you have any questions or requests and we'll do our best to answer them.
HOME AWAY FROM HOME: We're working on building a regular base for business travellers or regular travellers, so come stay with us and if you love it, we can work out a special rate for you as one of our Home Away From Home regulars. In addition, as we get to know your likes and dislikes better, we can provide a more tailored and personalised stay.

UPDATE: We have recently becoming the proud 'parents' of a gorgeous mini-lop rabbit named Paolo. He lives in a double storey hutch and is allowed out to play only when supervised so he will never be in your way. He will however more than likely win you over on sight. He is that cute.
THE AMENITIES: Our apartment is located in a modern, high-rise, security-accessed apartment building with its own gym, hot tub and rooftop lounge all of which you may use at your leisure.
In the apartment itself, you'll have access to:
- a laundry/washing machine
- iron/ironing board
- a sunny balcony
- a relaxing lounge area with tv and a comfy L-shaped sofa to relax on at the end of the day
- breakfast: feel free to help yourself to coffee, tea and cereal.
In the building: Catch up on work or browse the web in the rooftop lounge (free wifi) where you'll find comfy sofas, a flat screen tv (both indoors and outdoors!) and a huge dining table to sit at. If you don't have a laptop with you, our swipe card will give you access to the ground floor internet pod room where you can comfortably browse the internet for free. Also on the ground floor are two great restaurants (Japanese and Moroccan), a Commonwealth Bank atm/cash machine and a surprisingly nice laundromat.
TRANSPORT: The flat is easily reachable by bus, tram and train.
Trams (78 & 79) travel up and down Chapel Street heading north towards Richmond (great for Asian food and shopping) and south towards St Kilda (home of the famous Luna Park amusement park and, of course, the beach!).
Buses and trams from both the cross streets to our north (Toorak Road - 8) and south (Malvern Road/Commercial Road - 72) take you straight to the city.
We also have two train stations close by: Hawksburn Station (a 7 minute walk away) and Prahran Station (an 11 minute walk).
- Our internet is NOT unlimited and we recently had a guest use our entire monthly allowance during their one week stay with us, so please be considerate and reasonable with your internet usage.
- We are offering the room for one person, however, if there are two of you and you would like to stay with us just send us a message as we will sometimes make exceptions. The cost for a second guest is an additional $25 per night.
- We don't allow smoking inside, but you're welcome to smoke out on our balcony should you desire.
- Cleaning fee: $0!
- You will receive a swipe card upon arrival which will allow you to enter the building, the apartment and all the top floor amenities (gym, hot tub, etc). If you lose or damage it, we will have to order a new one and a $100 replacement fee will be charged to you. So don't lose or break it!
Nathalie and Justin were amazing hosts. Super welcoming from the first moment and really did well to make me feel comfortable in their home. Their place is just as modern as they suggest and the photos show, and the location is pretty central on top of Chapel street and easy to get around to the rest of Melbourne. Definitely recommended for sure!
This is a brilliantly located, small but comfy flat. Nat & Justin were great hosts and I really enjoyed my stay.
Nat and Justin were so helpful with directions and and easily answered my questions about anything Australia. Place was comfy and clean and cool, considering I there were a couple of hot days in Melbourne when I was there. There apartment was so close to Chapel St (so many shops and places to eat) and easily close to two major trams, which is very convenient. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again, Thanks Nat and Justin for sharing your place with me!

Nathalie and Justin were fantastic hosts. Their fantastic apartment had everything someone travelling on business would need. The WIFI was quick and Nathalie kept me in gear with the many cups of tea hehe. They were both always willing to help with some info about the area.
My flight had been delayed and they had offered to call my tours to make changes, luckily I had already manged to make my changes.
The apartment is perfectly situated in the great vibey area of Chapel Street. Close to tram and bus services. There is also a great pharmacy near by that sells perfumes for way cheaper than duty free. Good tip.

Fantstic hosts. Warm and welcoming and relaxed. The place is immaculate and in a convenient location surrounded by great restaurants and of course, Chapel St shops.
Stayed at Nat & Justin's for a week in September 2013. The place is very modern and well situated, and you feel more like a roommate than a guest with Nat & Justin. I'd highly recommend staying here when in Melbourne!
