The Space

Welcome to the Owner's Suite of The Williamsburg Guesthouse.

This listing is for the 3rd floor, 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment located in The Williamsburg Guesthouse. This is the owner's (my) apartment and is its own separate space on the third floor of the house. You will not be sharing with the other rooms in the guesthouse.

Located in the heart of trendy Williamsburg, Brooklyn, you will love this place. Its a very clean and fully renovated brooklyn style home. This apartment has it all, Main room: kitchen, living room, big 47" smart TV (netflix built-in), Playstation, Apple TV, Roku Box, breakfast nook, music area (you can plug in your iPod/walkman), tons of morning sunlight and light all day. Bedroom: Super comfy queen size bed, large room, full bathroom with washlet (its the best, you must try it). You should feel right at home in this apartment, or possibly even better than home. ;-)

It can accomodate up to 4 people, but the bed is only for 2 people. A third can sleep on the couch and a fourth can use an air mattress.

The house is right off the Lorimer L-train subway stop (the second stop from Manhattan), you can walk there to my door in 30 seconds. You can actually see the subway entrance from the front stoop of the house.
Union Square is a 7 minute subway ride and you can get almost anywhere in the city within 20-30 minutes, or less. Take a trip to Times Square without getting hit with all the tourist-trap costs of staying there. The immediate neighborhood offers great/famous bars, restaurants, shops, clubs, and parks. And, the prices are low compared to most places in Manhattan.

Also, the house is The Williamsburg Guesthouse, so there will be other guests sleeping on the 2nd floor, and the 1st floor is the common areas for those rooms. If you want, feel free to chill and get to know the other guests (while on the 1st floor), or you can keep to yourself in the very private 3rd floor apt that you are renting. To be social, or not to be social, that is the question. :)

The house has great amenities:
• Its very clean
• Towels, soaps, and clean sheets provided
• A Laundry machine is just off the bedroom (washer and dryer)
• Advanced Push-button locks, no keys to keep track of! You have one code (it only is active for your stay) that allows you entrance to the front doors and your room. No clumsy keys to keep track of, and no lockouts!
• Free WiFi in the house, with plug-in options too
• Big living room area to relax
• Big flat screen TV in the living room
• Free cable with HBO and Showtime on-demand
• Roku player with Netflix and more on-demand
• A decent selection of PS3 Video games and Movies
• Full kitchen for cooking, with stainless steal appliances, dishes, pots and pans, and dishwasher, so feel free to cook!

You will notice there are turntables. You can use them if you have your own needles. But, you can plug your iPod or computer up to the stereo, just don't bump it after 11pm.

Crystal will be at the house daily between 12:30 and 3pm for her cleaning duties. So, if you need anything, she'll be around. She will clean the bathroom and She will also be using the Washer and Dryer for the house sheets.

The Neighborhood

Willimasburg NYC is the most trendy/popular area in New York City at the moment. There are so many great places to see and check out around here, all within walking distance. The subway just a block away, so you will be close to everywhere in the city.

Getting around

Walk around the neighborhood, its the best. You can see the subway entrance from the front door, so that makes the city just a stones through away too. If you need a taxi to or from Manhattan, is usually around $20, give or take a few bucks, and depending on the time of night.

Other Things to Note

The area is very safe at all times in the day and the night. There are always nice people around to help you too, if you cant find your way.

  • My stay at Hill and Crystal's place was the ideal airbnb experience. Great location, clean apartment, super super comfy bed and a really cute turtle. I would highly recommend a stay here. Hill and Crystal were really responsive and overall great hosts.

  • I would definitely recommend staying at the WBGH. Hill and Crystal keep it clean and are around if you have questions about the area. Access to the L/G is super convenient and there are a lot of great restaurants close by. We would definitely stay here again.

About
I, Hill, grew up in Virginia, but have lived in NYC since 2005. So, you get a NY'er with southern hospitality, the best of both worlds. I like to make sure my guests are comfortable and can find the places they want to go. This includes tourist spots, but definitely does not stop there. I love to travel and meet new people. So having people come to my place is perfect. Crystal is the manager of the house and day-to-day duties. Feel free to contact either one of us at any time. We both receive the (website hidden)s. :-)
