About This Listing
This listing is for the 3rd floor, 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment located in The Williamsburg Guesthouse. You will have the entire 3rd floor of the Apt to your self. It can sleep up to 4, with the couch and an airbed.
Welcome to the Owner's Suite of The Williamsburg Guesthouse.
This listing is for the 3rd floor, 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment located in The Williamsburg Guesthouse. This is the owner's (my) apartment and is its own separate space on the third floor of the house. You will not be sharing with the other rooms in the guesthouse. Front door entrance is shared, so be quiet on your way up.
Located in the heart of trendy Williamsburg, Brooklyn, you will love this place. Its a very clean and fully renovated brooklyn style home. This apartment has it all, Main room: kitchen, living room, big 47" smart TV (netflix built-in), Playstation 3, Apple TV, breakfast nook, music area (you can plug in your iPod/walkman), tons of morning sunlight and light all day. Bedroom: Super comfy queen size bed, large room, full bathroom with washlet (its the best, you must try it). You should feel right at home in this apartment, or possibly even better than home. ;-)
It can accommodate up to 4 people, but the bed is only for 2 people. A third can sleep on the couch and a fourth can use an air mattress.
The house is right off the Lorimer L-train subway stop (the second stop from Manhattan), you can walk there to my door in 30 seconds. You can actually see the subway entrance from the front stoop of the house.
Union Square is a 7 minute subway ride and you can get almost anywhere in the city within 20-30 minutes, or less. Take a trip to Times Square without getting hit with all the tourist-trap costs of staying there. The immediate neighborhood offers great/famous bars, restaurants, shops, clubs, and parks. And, the prices are low compared to most places in Manhattan.
Also, the house is The Williamsburg Guesthouse, so there will be other guests sleeping on the 2nd floor, and the 1st floor is their common area for those rooms. Its is not part of your 3rd floor booking. However, be friendly and who knows, you might make some new friends with the other guests. Most everyone that stays here are very friendly. :-)
The house has great amenities:
• Its very clean
• Towels, soaps, and clean sheets provided
• A Laundry machine is just off the bedroom (washer and dryer)
• Advanced Push-button locks, no keys to keep track of! You have one code (it only is active for your stay) that allows you entrance to the front doors and your room. No clumsy keys to keep track of, and no lockouts!
• Free WiFi in the house, with plug-in options too
• Big living room area to relax
• Big flat screen TV in the living room
• Free cable with HBO and Showtime on-demand
• AppleTV player with Netflix and more on-demand
• A decent selection of PS3 Video games and Movies
• Full kitchen for cooking, with stainless steal appliances, dishes, pots and pans, and dishwasher, so feel free to cook!
You will notice there are turntables. You can use them if you have your own needles. But, you can plug your iPod or computer up to the stereo, just don't bump it after 10pm or 11pm.
Crystal is usually at the house daily between 12:30 and 3pm for cleaning duties. So, if you need anything, she'll be around. If you have an extended stay, we can arrange for her to come in and tidy up the place.
3rd floor, including, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and living room with TV, Apple TV, PS3 and more.
Interaction with Guests
There will be minimal interaction, unless you need more. You can always text us, call, email, (website hidden), or use WhatsApp, Line, Viber, (website hidden). Its up to you. We are here to help.
Willimasburg NYC is the most trendy/popular area in New York City at the moment. There are so many great places to see and check out around here, all within walking distance. The subway just a block away, so you will be close to everywhere in the city.
Walk around the neighborhood, its the best. You can see the subway entrance from the front door, so that makes the city just a stones through away too. If you need a taxi to or from Manhattan, is usually around $20, give or take a few bucks, and depending on the time of night.
Other Things to Note
The area is very safe at all times in the day and the night. There are always nice people around to help you too, if you cant find your way. Sal's Pizza is directly across the street for great Italian food. Suzume is right on the corner too, for amazing Hawaiian inspired Japanese food.
Not too many rules. Just try to be quiet after 10 or 11pm in the apt. And no shoes! You can remove your shoes once you get to the third floor. If its raining, please remove your shoes after entering the front door. Also, no smoking (of any kind) in the house.
When/if you cook, make sure you close the door to the bedroom. If you dont, the smoke alarm will go off in there, its way to sensitive! And its super loud (it happens to me all the time). Also, be sure to clean the dishes as soon as you are finished cooking.
I reserved a place with Crystal and Hill for my Father and his wife to visit. Crystal was responsive and super easy to deal with. She even put up with my ornery old man like a pro ;)
She checked in with consideration and made sure our needs were met.
We had an amazing stay at Hill's place. The apartment is great, and amazingly situated. We couldn't believe how easy and quick it was to get into the centre of Manhattan! (Although you could spend a whole week just in Brooklyn!)
The place was great - as advertised - so quiet and dark we slept really well. It was also lovely and warm.
Crystal was brilliant keeping in contact before and during our stay and was really accommodating when we had to change our plans.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a home-from-home experience in Brooklyn!
The apartment was warm and cosy, and the bed was really comfy. Crystal was great, really helpful and responsive. Carl is pretty cool too!
We had a very good 3-night stay on the 3rd floor of the WIlliamsburg Guesthouse.
Crystal made herself available to us (myself, husband and baby) if we needed her help with anything, although we only needed to touch base with her at the start of our stay due to a few key issues. Crystal was quick to remedy and after the first evening, we had no issues. We were not expecting a turtle to be staying with us, but it was not a problem and our baby found it interesting to watch. The place was clean and had very good heating (very welcoming for the cold days we were there).
The location is great. It is easy to walk to many interesting areas and tasty restaurants/coffee shops from the house or hop on the train/bus that is very close by.
Comfy and cozy place, and we would recommend the stay to others!
This is a very very good place to stay in NY. Very good location, with metro station very close, grocery, restaurants. Quiet place. Very good support from Crystal for everything we needed. Very clean. Warm and cozy place. Very confortable.
The 3rd floor guest room was the perfect place to stay while I was in transition between apartments in the city. Chrystal was so nice and accommodating. She always got back to me right away. This apartment was clean and in a great location! Would highly recommend this unit!! Thank you Crystal and Hill!!
Our stay at Crystal & Hill's suite at WBGH was a great weekend! The place was exactly as described, plus a little buddy turtle that was excited to see us every time we came back. We loved the neighborhood and were able to park 2 blocks away for free for the entire weekend. The locks have a preassigned code so you don't need to coordinate an exact arrival and departure time, plus there are some amenities to the rest of the WBGH available. We went into Manhattan during the day but ate around Williamsburg and they had excellent suggestions for food, drink, and entertainment. Overall it was a great value and we would be more than happy to stay there again.

About the Host, Hill + Crystal
I, Hill, grew up in Virginia, but have lived in NYC since 2005. So, you get a NY'er with southern hospitality, the best of both worlds. I like to make sure my guests are comfortable and can find the places they want to go. This includes tourist spots, but definitely does not stop there.
Crystal is the manager of the house and day-to-day duties. She is from Hawaii, and is just delightful. Feel free to contact either one of us at any time. We both receive the Airbnb emails. :-)
As for this house. I bought it and completely gut renovated it out. It was unlivable, and now it is a beautiful, comfortable, modern Brooklyn-style home. I love this house, and I love all of my guests. If you want to stay in the newest rooms, the basement was just finished early 2014.
I love to travel and meet new people. So having people come to my place is perfect.
