Super comfy king bed, spacious, bright living room with desk and chair, full bath, use of well equipped kitchen makes this the perfect place to spread out and enjoy your stay in Ann Arbor. Our urban farm is a peaceful setting close to everything but out of the student district.
When we say clean we mean it! We had a guest who worked for a hotel chain doing quality control on cleanliness. He was very impressed with our cleanliness standards.
The suite is maintained pet-and smoke-free.
Coming to Ann Arbor for a conference? Need housing while looking to purchase? Visiting U of M? Need to be close to U Hospital?
Private, spacious and immaculate second floor suite, consisting of 1-BR, full bathroom, LR, and use of fully equipped kitchen, W/D (on first and basement levels respectively). Ideal for short term stays--weekends, by the week, or up to a month. We request a minimum stay of two nights. The suite is bright and airy with large slider windows looking out at tree tops: the bedroom does not have windows (in case you are claustrophobic). Most guests find the room and the firm mattress provides an excellent night's sleep and enjoy the complete darkness the room provides. The sliders, a window A/C unit in summer and fans provide comfortable cooling and air circulation.
This is a private suite with a locking door, the second floor of a home (it is not a separate entry from the outside). Very well cleaned between every guest, fully furnished w/ King bed, couch, desk, dresser, all linens, towels, shower products, hair dryer, iron and ironing board and closet for hangables. Can accomodate 1 person or a couple, and also works for couples with a younger aged child or baby (we can provide a baby gate, high chair, portable crib/playpen, and unused outlets have safety plugs)
WiFI access, parking, very close to bus line, 1.5 miles to UM Campus, 2.5 miles to downtown, 1 mi to MI Stadium, and easy access to expressways. Out of the harried student district but conveniently close to campus and downtown.
For more active moments we have an elliptical trainer for your use on a sunny glassed-in porch or a full gym in the basement. Guests often enjoy coffee or tea in the rocking chairs on the porch, overlooking beautiful vegetable gardens.
Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Park, nearby, two great neighborhood coffee shops within 2 blocks. We provide a "starter supply" of coffee, tea, half and half, fresh fruit, homemade granola, yogurt for your first morning or until it runs out. Or we can make suggestions if you prefer going out. We can easily accommodate food allergy needs or gluten-free guests for our breakfast foods.
The suite is above our offices so there are occasionally other people coming and going on the first floor typically only between 9:30 am and 7 pm.
As hosts, we're friendly and we'll make sure you have what you need but otherwise leave you to enjoy your stay.
We charge $15/night for an extra guest; child under 6 is free.
Gym, WiFi, washer/dryer, picnic table, visiting and feeding chickens.
Interaction with guests
We are available to answer any questions. We enjoy meeting our guests but realize you didn't come here to visit us!
We do have clients for our businesses that will occasionally be on the first floor during weekdays, but the upstairs suite is completely private.
Other things to note
Off street parking, gardens and porch rocking chairs overlooking them to enjoy, chickens to feed, picnic table.
We aim to provide a clean, relaxing and welcoming space to all, that can be your home away from home for a couple days or a few weeks. The kitchen is available and well equipped for you to prepare meals or store your leftovers from eating out. We request that the counters be left clean and dishes either washed or put in dishwasher when you are done cooking. Other than that we welcome you to make this your home-base for whatever brings you to town. We do not discriminate and are welcoming to all who will respect our space.
We welcome you to make this your home base while in Ann Arbor. Your suite is clean, bright and spacious and we'll do our best to make your stay comfortable without being intrusive. The space affords alot of privacy. The kitchen is fully equipped and ready for you to make breakfast or dinner if that's what you like, or we can point you to our favorite places in town. I enjoy making homemade granola for guests and leave yogurt along with fresh fruit in the refrigerator for a quick breakfast Coffee, teas and half & half are provided. If you prefer soy or almond milk please let me know in advance.
My partner and I are both self-employed and work unobtrusively out of the downstairs of the house. My dog Sophie comes to work with me and spends the day on a chaise lounge supervising my work. Because we're self-employed we're usually just a text away if you need something.
We love our neighborhood because it is safe, friendly, has an awesome indy coffee bar (and roaster), there's a great, local foods take out place 1/4 mile down the road, Trader Joe's and Whole Foods are close, it's close but not too close to campus and town, is on a bus line, and is walking distance to MI Stadium.
