The Space

Coming to Ann Arbor for a conference? Need housing while looking to purchase? Visiting U of M? Need to be close to U Hospital?

Private, spacious and immaculate suite, consisting of 1-BR, full bathroom, LR, and use of fully equipped kitchen, W/D. Ideal for short term stays--weekends, by the week, or up to a month. We request a minimum stay of two nights.

This is a private suite, the second floor of a home. Very clean, fully furnished w/ King bed, couch, desk, dresser, all linens, towels, hair dryer, iron and ironing board. Can accomodate 1 person or a couple, and also works for couples with a younger aged child or baby (we can provide a baby gate, high chair, portable crib/playpen, and unused outlets have safety plugs)

WiFI access, parking, very close to bus line, 1.5 miles to UM Campus, 2.5 miles to downtown, 1 mi to MI Stadium, and easy access to expressways.

For more active moments we have an elliptical trainer for your use on a sunny glassed-in porch or a full gym in the basement. Guests often enjoy coffee or tea in the rocking chairs on the porch, overlooking beautiful vegetable gardens.

Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Park, nearby, great neighborhood Coffee Shop. We provide a "starter supply" of coffee, tea, half and half, fresh fruit, homemade granola, yogurt and fresh eggs from our chickens for your first morning or until it runs out. Or we can make suggestions if you prefer going out. We can easily accommodate food allergy needs or gluten-free guests.

As hosts, we're friendly and we'll make sure you have what you need but otherwise leave you to enjoy your stay.

We do not charge a cleaning fee; it's included in our price. We do charge $15/night for an extra guest not including a child under 6.

Guest Access

Gym, WiFi, washer/dryer, picnic table, visiting and feeding chickens.

Interaction with Guests

We are available to answer any questions. We enjoy meeting our guests but realize you didn't come here to visit us!

The Neighborhood

We have a fabulous independent coffee bar in the neighborhood--a real treasure. There's a great carry out, local food place just up the street. Trader Joe's is a 20 min walk or quick car ride for stocking up on food supplies. We are close to the bus stop for a quick trip into town or campus if you don't want to walk there or don't have a car. And for U of M fans here for game days the Stadium is a very pleasant mile walk away.

Getting around

Right on the bus line.

Other Things to Note

Off street parking, gardens and porch rocking chairs overlooking them to enjoy, chickens to feed, picnic table.

  • This was our second stay at Judy's airbnb. Fantastic space, your own private upstairs bedroom, large sitting space with wifi and a beautiful large spotless bathroom with fluffy towels. There is a nice screened in porch with two rockers, perfect for morning reading with the coffee that is provided, also yogurt and homemade granola, Highly recommend staying there.

  • This (email hidden) to stay. Convenient for getting in and out of Ann Arbor and thoughtful hosts. Nice to have so much private space upstairs, as well as access to all the amenities and helpful suggestions for where to go out.

  • Judy (email hidden) with perfect tree-house type abode. Clean, convenient, comfortable, and cozy, this is a terrific spot when visiting Ann Arbor. If another visit to Ann Arbor is on our horizon, we would look to Judy to host us again.

  • We had a wonderful stay in Ann Arbor, thanks to our gracious host. The bright, comfortable living space, conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood, offered peace and privacy (and sound sleep on a great mattress!), as well as use of fully equipped kitchen. Judy made us feel welcome and well cared for, including the thoughtful touch of leaving healthy first-morning breakfast supplies (fruit, yogurt, granola). We appreciate and second all the positive recommendations!

  • We had a very relaxing 3 might stay here. The bed is comfy, the house is quiet, and the space was very rejuvenating. It was very nice to have a kitchen & elliptical cross trainer available to us. The hosts use the house as their office space with the B&B upstairs, so there is no one else in the house at night.

We will be staying here again when we visit Ann Arbor. Thank you!

  • We had such a lovely stay at Judy's annex. It's in a location that's a 10-minute bus ride from the heart of Ann Arbor, and walking distance from some good neighborhood spots. Judy and Ann Margaret were very hospitable, providing not only a clean and warm space with all the right amenities (comfy living space with a work desk, bathroom with shampoo and soap, kitchen), but friendly help with any of our questions about Ann Arbor. Highly recommend staying here - we were so comfortable, and it was just the right balance of privacy and warm hosting.

  • I had a wonderful two week stay in this cozy little suite! The bed was comfortable, the space was quiet, and the food left by Judy and Ann-Margaret was delicious...not to mention they were so kind and courteous about privacy while I was staying here. There were restaurants and all sorts of interesting things within walking distance as well, and their office is next to a bus line.

There is a fully working kitchen. No microwave, but I could live with that. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it highly.

  • I had a very pleasant experience staying in this suite. Both hostesses were very friendly and respectful of privacy. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the whole suite has a very peaceful and relaxed vibe to it.

There is a living room area downstairs, which allows you to spread out if you feel like you need to. Judy has an office that you walk through to get to the apartment suite, but there aren't many people going in and out, and generally you have privacy downstairs as well. The breakfast starter kit that they provided was also delicious, and there is a full working kitchen, coffeemaker, and teamaker for all of your cooking needs.

This is a beautiful apartment, and I would definitely recommend staying here.

  • I had a lovely near-week staying in this cozy little suite, while I did research in Ann Arbor. Judy and Ann-Margaret were extremely friendly and hospitable hosts, and they were also very conscientious about not intruding into my private space while I was there. They generously left delicious food and coffee for me and my husband to eat and drink our first morning, and even gifted me with fresh eggs and milk later on. The shared kitchen space was well stocked with cooking implements and I was able to make breakfasts, pack lunches, and cook dinner throughout my stay, sometimes chatting with my hosts but never having to compete with them for the space as it is not their main cooking space. I was even able to do laundry, which meant I didn't have to hand-wash my long underwear :)

The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom spacious, and the little living-room upstairs was wonderfully cozy (light-filled during the day with plenty of shades for privacy at night). They are not right downtown, but it is quite walkable to downtown (though I rented a car given the amount of snow and cold this winter has dumped on us and the distance to my research venue), and they had plenty of info about public transit.

I would be happy to stay again if I go back to Ann Arbor to do more research!

  • Judy's place provided very good access to the surrounding area. The king size bed was awesome. The living space and bathroom were both very comfortable. The ceiling of the bedroom is a bit low, but unless you're 6'4" like me, it probably won't be a problem. Check-in/Check-out were both simple. Very good location to Ann Arbor. Several places to eat within walking distance and more within a short drive. If you're planning on reheating left-overs, there is no microwave - but there's kitchen with a conventional oven and stove, so it just takes a little longer. Overall an excellent place to stay if you find yourself in Ann Arbor.

    Response from Judy:

Good to point out--we don't want the added EMFs so don't use them and forget that others do! But we do have a small convection/toaster oven that heats up relatively quickly and sorry we neglected to point that out. Thanks for staying with us and glad you had a good experience overall.

The space affords alot of privacy. The kitchen is fully equipped and ready for you to make breakfast if that's what you like, or we can point you to our favorite places in town. I enjoy making homemade granola and yogurt to leave in the refrigerator for along with fresh fruit and fresh eggs from our chickens (no roosters though, to wake you) if you'd like. Coffee, teas and half & half are provided.
