Extra spacious

Guests love this home’s spaciousness for a comfortable stay.
Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape. A unique farmhouse with impressive views surrounded by 30 acres of Australian bush and paddocks. The friendly Highland cattle, which often graze the paddocks, are an added bonus for a magical setting. Native wildlife such as kangaroos, birds, and even koalas are in abundance. (Please note that the Highland cattle are not currently at the farm due to the drought)

The space
The 'Chalet' is full of large rooms with high ceilings and big windows. The bathrooms and kitchen have been recently updated. The kitchen has a kettle, toaster, induction stove top, an oven, a dishwasher, and all the basic cooking utensils. The pantry is stocked with some basic condiments to make your stay easier.
The bedroom downstairs has a queen bed and adjoins the bathroom.
Upstairs has its own bathroom along with an "attic" with two single beds. The two remaining bedrooms upstairs can be set up with either king beds or two singles in each.
There is a fold out couch that can be used if extra bedding is required upon discussion with the host.
Outside the Chalet is a peaceful bush and garden setting with a little fish pond and plenty of native birds (and the occasional kangaroo) to delight the senses. There is also a BBQ and a fire pit to ensure you can make the most of the outdoors. Further afield, there are multiple dams that can be enjoyed at your leisure for swimming or paddling in the canoe. The paddocks are often grazed with stunning Highland Cattle who are quiet and may even come up for a treat.

Guest access
Guests have the entire house to themselves and can access the whole property apart from the garage and the immediate area around the small cabin that is approximately 50m from the house. This cabin is where we currently live.
Guests are not permitted to enter the paddocks with cattle unless attended by the host. This is for safety reasons.

Other things to note
Hands on encounters with the Highland cattle can be booked through the host for an extra charge.
Also available is a full farm experience at the main farm - 'Ballybrook farm'. This is located 5 minutes from Cnoc Dubh and hosts the 'Bairnsley Highland Cattle' fold. Contact the host for more information :)
