  • We had a wonderful time staying in Karen's studio! Her space was so bright and open, with a truly inviting atmosphere, and super clean. Karen was an excellent host. She provided tons of information in the studio to make our trip more enjoyable, was reachable and quick to respond when we needed help, and even had fresh muffins waiting for us when we arrived. The bed in the studio was extremely comfortable. We also loved being able to open the windows in the morning and sip coffee while overlooking Chinatown rooftops and the Manhattan bridge. The studio's location can't be beat. You are minutes from the Grand St. subway station in the fascinating, bustling Chinatown neighborhood. It's worth mentioning that we always felt very safe walking to and from the subway late at night in this area. We would stay at Karen's studio again in a heartbeat, and with the price, it just might be the best deal in all of Manhattan ;)

  • Karen's apartment is perfectly well located, in the heart of Chinatown, close to everything. The apartment was super clean, cosy and Karen was always available to answer questions. I highly recommend Karen's place.

  • I stayed in Karens studio for three weeks. Everything was absolutely fantastic. The location was perfect, the bed was comfortable, the shower was warm, and the studio as a whole couldn't have been cozier. I would recommend staying here to anyone. Karen is such a great host and will be there to help with any questions right away. I can't wait to stay there again.

  • Staying in Karen's loft was one of the best parts of our vacation to NY. It was the perfect location - right around the corner from the subway, a short walk to our friends' apartment, and directly above one of the best dumplings shops in the city (Prosperity Dumpling). It was clean, quaint, and provided us with everything we need. Thank you, Karen!

  • We had a wonderful time in Karen' studio. It was clean and very well located. Karen tooke care of everything, she prepared the studio for us (even muffins and milk in the fridge!!) and she had been always available.
We hope to return soon !

  • I stayed at Karen's studio with my boyfriend for 6 nights. The loft looks just like it does in the pictures, it's very quaint and adorable, and conveniently situated. It's a 5-20 minute walk to the station depending on which line you're going to (F, N, Q, 6). Karen was quick to help us when there were problems, and unfortunately there were. The bath water didn't run hot water for long and the ceiling started leaking after a whole day of rain. But Karen was right on top of it and even offered to refund us half the trip and let us stay at her studio, which was far more than what we expected. Overall, it was a wonderful stay and we understand the problems were not something Karen would've expected, so 5/5 would stay again.

  • Karen is an excelent host. We had a few special requests, since we were both putting an art show in NY and she knew exactly how to help us. She even went to the exhibition and gave us feedback on our work, super generous. The apartment is really good, specially if you want your independence. Location is very practical, lots of places to eat and drink at LES, art galleries, the NEW museum, close subway stations... Overall it is very convenient

  • The studio IS like on the picture, it's wonderful and very well located. I already miss it.
Karen has been such a wonderful host for us, very helpfful, understanding and nice.
If I had to go back to NYC I would surely go back to her place.

    I strongly recommend her !!!

  • Karen's studio satisfied every need we had during my and my boyfriend's stay-- it is perfect for those who have some familiarity with the city already. The listing is very close to the orange and yellow lines, so it conveniently takes you from the lower east side to anywhere you need to go. Jing Fong (dim sum) and Prosperity Dumpling (dumpling house) are very close to this listing, and it became two of our favorite eateries while in Chinatown.
This studio was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. Loud noises are not an issue. We were too tired at night from biting the Big Apple during the day to worry about noise when we slept. However, the space is bright so you wake up with the sun. This was a plus for us-- we are morning people.
Bathroom is in the hall, and elevator is slow, but I was able to look over these because everything else that is good about this space trumped it.
Moreover, Karen was a very considerate host, and I look forward to having this space as an option for my future NYC visits!
