About This Listing
Charming medieval house, completely restaured by an architect, with a small terrace over the roof of an ancient (website hidden) is suited for 4 persons.
Our very comfortable house in Bomarzo (connected to internet), small and quiet medieval village, fits 4 people.
It has a small terrace and at 300 meters walk stands our beautiful large garden of 2000 m2.
The house was entirely recently redone by an architect.
A public free parking is at the entry of the village.
From there you can go to swim in wonderful lakes (Bolsena, Vico) or enjoy hot springs the all year. There is also a large variety of walks in the countryside.
Nearest seaside is 70 km (Tarquinia);
Bomarzo is idealy situated in the north of Latium, at the border of Tuscany, and Umbria, giving the opportunity to visit the main art towns of central Italy, even by train.
You can leave the car, even overnite, without paying, at the local train station attigliano , 6 km away: Rome (80 km), Spoleto (45), Orvieto (40), Perugia (90), Assisi (90).
It was an historical fief of the Orsini family, whose castle is at the edge of the village . But Bomarzo's chief claim to fame is a garden usually referred to as the Bosco Sacro (Sacred Grove) or, locally, Bosco dei Mostri (Monsters' Grove).
Our garden overlooks the church of Orsini Sacro Bosco and a splendid panorama of hills covered by olive and nut trees, At walking distance you will find amazing sights on archeologicals and caves of Etruscans, the original people of the region.
House sleeps 4.
two upstairs on the mezzanine with 2 good single beds that you can add if you need, and a queen size bed in the master bedroom.
No need to bring your labtop or linen. Everything is there.
You can have your meals on the small terrace.
In our garden with a splendid view, you will find chairs, tables and chaises longues. Ideal for pique-nique, sunbathing, and for children to play..
The village is very quiet the all year. It becomes a bit more lively in august when few shows and sometimes dinners are organised on the small piazza in front of the church.
It is like to be in an italian movie.
House available all year.

The village is on top of a hill and the cars cannot enter into the heart of the place where is the house. Still you can drop off your luggage very near.
Near the parking there is a public lift.
If possible, please follow the instructions for recycling garbage. Every day there is a collect of different type of garbae.
We were welcome very nice from maria rosa and piedro. Although they both are no english speaker, we managed everything quite well with hands and feet, and a lot of laughing.
The apartment and the village was a real living experience. We can definitely recommend a stay!
Thanks to Béatrice and Cyril we had a very nice stay in Bomarzo. The apartment is beautifully located in the old town and very well equipped. We were warmly welcomed by Maria Rosa who showed us around. After all Béatrice sent us a lot of useful information concerning the area and the communication with her was very friendly . The surrounding is very calm and beautiful, so we did some really nice excoursions by foot, bike and car. We can totally recommend this place to everyone who enjoys a calm and authentic countryside holiday in Italy.
We had a very pleasant stay at the house of Béatrice and Cyril.
The description of the house is very accurate. In fact: it is even better in 'realtime'. It is a beautiful restored house with lots of charming details. Also nice, the house is, to our experience, very well equipped: good pots and pans, sharp knives, a good stove, a very functional heating system (some nights we're getting cold at the end of october), great functioning wifi etcetera.
The entresol is very comfortable (connect your computer and you can watch what you like).
Garden: enormous, well maintained and with a great view (or views that is)
The village is very Medieval; silent and beautiful.
Although we are total Tuscany fans for many years, the roughness of this area charmed us also very much.
Some practical tips:
For eating, our experience (or what we found) is there are 2 options in Bomarzo.
The first is called 'Ristorante Il Quadrifoglio'. We had a pizza there and it was great. Bare in mind that they only start the pizza oven in the weekend (at least when we were there, in october).
The other restaurant is more 'traditional Italian', run by a couple/family and is called 'Piccolo Mondo'.
Great, great pasta's, and very nice people.
For wine tasting we found this very nice place in Civitella d'Agliano: Sergio Mottura, beautiful place, very gentle lady, perfect wines.
Yep, we absolutely endorse this place!
