Cozy colorful studio with exposed rafters in quiet neighborhood. Come and go as you wish, ten minutes from downtown. Can sleep up to four on comfortable futon and airbed. You can step outside in the morning to have coffee with chickens!

The Space

Colorful detached Studio apartment with full bath and kitchenette. Furnished with a comfortable futon bed, table and chairs, mini fridge, hot plate, and coffee maker. Shower has a water heater right on the other side of the wall- no waiting for hot water!

A queen sized air mattress can be provided to fit two more people for an extra charge.

The neighborhood is quiet, though you may hear the chickens talking to themselves in the morning. There are no roosters, however, so they aren't too loud. There's a bus stop ten minutes walk from the front door, and there are some restaurants and fast food within walking distance as well.

There is no smoking allowed inside, but there are chairs outside for those who wish to kick back at the end of the day and watch the chickens free range in the backyard. There isn't much else to see there at the moment, it's a work in progress!

There are two cats and one dog on the property, but they are not allowed in the studio, so those with allergies need not worry. I have allowed the occasional small dog to stay in the studio, and make an extra effort to clean after they are gone. If you have a dog you would like to stay with, there will be an extra cleaning fee.

The kitchenette has a fridge, a hot plate, and a coffee maker. for your use. There is also a shelf with an assortment of board games, puzzles, and books if you wish to stay in!

Interaction with Guests

I am currently staying home with my baby, so I am usually there if you need anything. If you'd like extra towels for a dip in Barton Springs (or any other of the great pools around here) I'm happy to provide those. Also, anyone staying longer than a week is very welcome to ask for clean sheets and towels.

The Neighborhood

My street is short and quiet, with many different styles of houses! Mine and another couple were moved from a historic district to here in the seventies.

Getting around

The bus stop is a fifteen minute walk.

  • Erica's studio was the perfect place to stay in Austin. It's a 10-15 minute drive to UT, located on a quiet street, very clean and well maintained. I spent 2 weeks there and had to commute to downtown daily.

She was a great host, everything was perfectly in place when I got there, and she was always available but very respectful of my privacy. I'm very pleased and would certainly recommend it to friends and family!

  • I had a great stay at Erica's Studio! I made last minute plans and Erica was very helpful. The place is very nice with a private entrance and shower. The apartment is located very close to town and is a great starting point to adventure around town.

Likes: Very close to town, private entrance, comfortable bed and nice amenities.

Note: There is a dog, but it's super nice! There are also chickens close by and while they don't make a lot of noise, this may bother some. Overall a great experience and I would definitely stay there again!

  • Cute place, missing some common necessities but otherwise would recommend & stay again on my next visit to Austin.

  • We had a fabulous stay in Erica's studio. Perfectly quiet and comfortable with ever so friendly & curious chickens to greet you in the morning! It was the perfect place for us to unwind after three long days of selling artwork downtown. Close enough to downtown to get you there in less than 15 minutes, but far enough away from city and traffic noise so that you feel as if you're visiting a quaint country cottage. Loved this place and will definitely stay again!

  • This place is nice. It is in a really good location, in a little residential area within minutes to downtown. Erica is very kind and will give you your private space unless you need anything. Good little place to stay for any concerts or events at Circuit of the Americas!

  • We had a great stay in Austin! Erica's place was cozy, clean and comfortable, and very close to the key places around the city. She was a wonderful host too! We had an uncommon request of an early check in, and she gladly met us to pass us the key. Would definitely recommend her place to anyone traveling to Austin.

  • Staying with Erica was really nice, we booked the studio on very short notice and it was colorful, comfortable and clean. The location is really nice as well, just a few minutes' drive to downtown. If you're looking for a peaceful, private stay in Austin, then this is definitely a place we would recommend.

  • Very clean, comfortable spot. Easily sleeps three. The place feels a little out of the way (quiet, residential neighborhood) but is in fact a very quick drive to lots of attractions. We never met in person but Erica was very helpful! We enjoyed the chickens outside our front door. Make sure to check out Bouldin Street Cafe for delicious vegetarian breakfast and friendly service!

  • Erica's studio apartment was perfect for my stay in Austin, attending the sxsw festival, myself and a friend were looking for somewhere near downtown that we could safely store our luggage and hang out while we had some down time. Erica was very welcoming and showed us in, providing us with an extra airbed which was all set up and ready on our arrival. The area is peaceful and easy to find your way around in. The room is spacious and the shower is excellent!
