The Space

Private room available with a balcony in a shared apartment with my friend London and I. The room has a full sized designer leather bed with a very comfortable mattress. It is equipped with a Samsung 36" Flat screen TV with cable connection. (will update pics with the television).

The neighborhood is surrounded by great people, bars and restaurants. The apartment building is conveniently located next door to a Duane Reade and is also located right across the street from the G train subway station. It is very easy to catch a yellow cab, and is approximately 15 mins from the city and cabs are typically $12-$15 from here all the way to the Meat Packing District (yellow cab).

The building is a private condo residence with an elevator. The apartment has central air and heat. The apartment also has its own washer and dryer so you would not need to go elsewhere for your laundry needs. I just recently renovated the entire apartment and all of the rooms were freshly painted as of December 2012.

Fresh linens and towels will be provided to you during your stay as well as free Wifi. There is kitchen equipped w/ the basic essentials: stove, microwave, refrigerator, blender, and pots & pans that you may use at any time if you prefer to cook your own meals instead of dining out.

A little about the neighborhood:
The apartment is on the border line of Bedstuy & Clinton Hill. The building is across from where Brooklyn's OWN JAY-Z lived growing up. Across the street is one of my favorite neighborhood bars called Project Parlor & Brooklyn Stoops which are the staple hang out places in the neighborhood (check them out on Yelp). Short walk to Brooklyn Tap House (Sports Bar). Also, it is a very short commute to the New Barclays Center, BAM and the Atlantic Terminal Mall.

Also central close to all 3 bridges the Manhattan, Brooklyn & Williamsburg Bridge. 3 Quick fast stops to Williamsburg or a $7 cab will get you there in 8 minutes.

If you'd like to get a better idea of the neighborhood please read the reviews left by other guests who has previously stayed here.

I'm a bit flexible on check in and check outs. LATE check ins are welcomed. However if I have a guest checking in the same day a guest is checking out I'll notify you whether or not your check out time needs to be at 12pm noon if this is the case. But if no one is checking in the day you're departing then I am flexible.

For additional information or if you have any questions, feel free to contact me! Also note if the calender dates are open it means the room is available.

  • Aga lived in a fantastic neighberhood, close to the metro station and other stores were you can buy food etc.

The room was big enough and the balcony was great.

We spent some time with Aga and she is a wonderful person to hang out with. She invited us to a rooftop party in the building and we had a great time.

I would stay there again, for sure.

  • We (2 girls) stayed at Asia's for one week, and unfortunately it wasnt a great stay. The second day she came home late with her friend, they were drunk and very loud (screaming and high music) until 2 am, and then again at 4 am when she woke up and were very loud again. We didnt sleep that night - we actually both fell very uncomfortable about staying there. Otherwise she played on her guitar until 2 am another night, again we couldnt sleep.
The apartment were dirty - we found trash under our bed - chips and waterbottles, there were hair all over the floor in the bathroom aswell on and in the toilet sometimes.
We found the kitchen so dirty that we didnt used it, and the refrigerator was dirty aswell - we had to put our things in a plasticbag before we wanted to put it into the refrigerator.
The room was fine and had a fine size for two and it was a fine location aswell.

    Response from Asia:

    Hi Amelie,

I apologize that the apartment was not up to your standards. I do not see how the apartment was very dirty as I have a paid maid come in the day of or the day before each guest's arrival. And as you've read in the comments before you booked the room, that it is praised to be very clean. I find it odd that during your arrival it has become this magically dirty apartment.

As for the hair in the bathroom when you comb/brush your hair and you do not wipe down the area afterwards, it will stay there. I found your hair to be all over in the bathroom. You and your friend even did an in home hair dye in the apt which has destroyed the color of the towels and the wash clothe and even the pillow cases and the bed sheets in which I had to throw out. There were also specs of hair dye left on the wooden floors in the room. This was very upsetting to me. Because had you asked me I would have provided not so nice toweling and provided newspaper to protect my wooden floors.

I was also very upset that every time I arrived home the apartment door was not locked. I've never had a guest that kept leaving my apartment door unlocked when I have so many valuables in my apartment.

I do state in my bio that I play electric guitar and I am very mindful at what volume I play at (I do play/practice late on the weekends if I have a show because I work and go to school throughout the week). I play at the same volume as I always play and I have never received a complaint, so I assumed it was at a level that would not be a nuisance. However maybe next time be vocal. I would have lowered the volume if it bothered you. I apologize again for this.

I do respect that everyone has their own opinion and have different standards. I do suggest in the future to have more communication and be more vocal so there are not so many misunderstandings. Everything could have been resolved with a simple exchange of concerns.

I hope the preceding reviews will overshadow of what I believe to be exaggerated in my honest opinion.

  • My friend and i stayed with Asia for one week. Our room and her apartment were clean and quiet. The house has an elevator. The room is a good size, bright, modern with a big closet and the bed is very comfortable. We arrived in the middle of the night due to problems and delays with our flight and Asia was very understanding as we rang her door bell at 2am. While our stay we didnt see eachother much as Asia had to work and we have been out and about in the city a lot. Overall i totally recommend her place and would def stay there again anytime. Also the subwaystation is just a 1 Minute walk away.

  • I was at Aja's place for a week and it is a GREAT spot to base yourself, no your not in Manhattan (New York City isn't all about Manhattan) but it is easy to get to and the G line takes you into the middle of Brooklyn and also up to Williamsburg easily. The subways and connections were easy, after initially thinking it might give me bother. It added to the experience in fact.

The neighbourhood seemed fine, I had no issues and I got in late a couple of times.

I only saw Aja a couple of times as she is a busy person and I was obviously out doing the touristy stuff, but she is super sweet and extremely easy to get along with and we had some good chats when we were both in.

The room has a super comfy bed and porch. Plenty of room to hang clothes should you wish too. The TV in the room with cable was good to have to watch and wind down after a hectic day of site seeing.

I'd stay there again without question should I go back to New York.

  • The room was great and the whole place is also very nice! Aja was always very helpful and gave me some nice tips :)

There's a subway station right on the corner (email hidden) close to the building...

    I would certainly recommend it!

I'm a student studying Finance and Physics. I have a Managerial Accounting business in addition to school. I'm mostly working, studying, or hanging out with my friends. In my free time I like to go to brunches, visit a lounge with my friends, fine dining, love going to electric dance shows, art galleries, concerts. I play electric guitar. During the summer I have more leisure time and party on the weekends. Please note as of December 6, 2013 my best friend London will be moving out of state, so It will be just me in the apartment. I'm not much home during the weekdays, will definitely see me more during the weekends and nights.
