If you are looking for a place that combines the charm of the old city with safety and convenience then this may be your place. Our house, from 1901, is a fully renovated oasis in one of nicest neighborhoods in Montevideo. During the renovation we tried to maintain as many of the original details while sculpting a modern space.
The result is a very unique home that offers more than a place to stay. We provide very spacious, comfortable, and clean bedrooms. Double room has a desk, sofa, coffee table, refrigerator, microwave, air conditioning, TV, and WiFi access. Our rooms face out to a Spanish style courtyard with a small pool for hot days use, outdoor Asado (barbeque), and places for resting and dining. During the renovation we also discovered a hidden cellar, which had not been used since 1910.
We converted this subterranean treasure into an intimate entertainment and performance space with a screening area for which we salvaged cinema benches from one of Montevideos´s oldest cinemas. We show films in this space and it is also where our artist friends sometimes come to perform and present their work. We can make arrangements for you to use this space were you to wish for it. We also offer other services for a nominal fee such as breakfast, laundry, and a well-stocked mini-bar.
Outside of the house you will find a charming neighborhood that is a far cry from the high-rise neighborhoods surrounding some of the beaches here. We are an eclectic, slightly Bohemian neighborhood with tree-lined streets and small architectural gems in unexpected places.
Within close proximity to the house we have a supermarket, several bars and clubs, and restaurants where you can eat local foods with the friendly locals at local prices. Beyond the close proximity of our neighborhood you’ll find quick access to Parque Rodó and its amusement park, which is right next to Playa Ramirez. Many of our guests enjoy exploring Montevideo by foot from our house, but if that is not an option we are close to some of the main public transportation arteries in town.
A short bus ride will take you to the Old City (Ciudad Vieja) or to Pocitos.
We are looking forward to opening our gates to you, and to show you an architects dream in a city that prides itself on treating its guests as family.

We didn't stay long in Montevideo but our stay at Marco's place made the difference, good barrio with lots of bars around and pretty much close to everything interesting in Montevideo!
Arriving in Montevideo, welcomed right at the door, provided with lots and lots of useful speciial tips and being treated just like a personal guest, made us feel comfortable right from the first step into this wonderful house - full of surprises. The flat, lovely and clean. The neighbourhood great! We`ll always remember Montevideo with warm feelings, due to this nice "airBnB-experience"!
Ingrid and Marcos were both extremely helpful and considerate, and are full of great advice of things to do around their beautiful home.
Ingrid was a great hostess. Though very busy during our stay, she still took the time to show us a home about which she is very proud... and should be. It's always nice to have someone local tell you what to visit. She made our stay in Montevideo very pleasant.
Ingrid & Marcus made our arrival into Uruguay more welcoming than we could imagine. As well as tirelessly helping to track down some lost luggage in Brazil, they were full of useful info on this charming city. Their home is an architectural delight, and on our second night we were treated to a great jazz gig in their cellar! The rooms are spotless and the location in a cool leafy neighbourhood is perfect. Will be returning to stay with them again. Highly recommended!
Ingrid and her husband are very kind and helpful.
There should be no reason to doubt any of these reviews. This BNB is everything you could wish for on a budget and more.Trust Ingrid's list of fun and dining and try to add to it.
We had so much fun learning the city from this easy, safe and central location. Two blocks around the corner is one of the largest parks, Rodo. You'll love discovering this landmark gem. It was budding with life and butts up to the Rambla. another wonder, of this most Southern sea side capitol.
What luck we had, finding two simpatico hosts, that enjoy sharing their good fortune.
Ingrid and Marcos were amazing, caring and SO knowledgable about their city. Montevideo seems to be on the verge of a major revival. We couldn't wait to turn each corner and discover something new. Be sure to bring your walking shoes and sun screen, taste every morsel, take a speedy serenaded bus ride or a death defying taxi ride through this must do “Bucket List” City. We can't wait to see our new friends in Montevideo next year! Philippe and TG:D
My son and I stayed at Ingrid and Marco's lovely villa-style home in mid October. We received a lovely warm welcome to not only their home but Ingrid had good suggestions of places to visit and get the most out of our 5 days in Montevideo. The location felt safe and it was central, allowing us to venture out to several sites either on foot or by inexpensive cab fares. The room with shared bath was a clean and comfortable place to rest and re-energize. The secret room in the basement is full of history. Would not hesitate to stay again and thanks again to Ingrid and Marco for their lovely hospitality. Makes us wonder why anyone would choose a hotel!? Peggy
