Hatice was very friendly! She picked us up from Taksim Square, even after we messaged her saying that we would be late.
The bedroom was very spacious and warm but if I knew the bathroom would be like what it was, I wouldn't have stayed there for free - lets just say we waited to use the bathroom until we went to get breakfast.
Overall - host was nice, walking distance to Taksim Square and really cheap!
If you want real, raw Istanbul with no frilly edges, this is a great place to stay. Hatice picked us up at Taksim Square in the middle of the night (thanks again!) and made sure we learnt the way home so we were independent from the word go.
The flat really is a lovely stroll down a few streets from Taskim Square - ideal, and surrounded by shops and food places.
I was working online during this trip, so the excellent wifi connection was invaluable.
Don't come here if you want a palace with hotel like standards. This is a place to rest, see a bit of another life, experience great views, back streets and get to know Hatice! Hatice was welcoming and came running when we really needed her!
Hatice is a loving, relaxed and interested person. Only thing worth noting is that she's a serious smoker. If you can't handle smoke, you might find it uncomfortable.
Thanks for letting us into your world in Istanbul Hatice! See you again.
Hatice is a very helpfull and friendly person. We had a pleasant stay with her. The appartment is clean and located perfectly - extremly central. It has everything you need - its clean, big enough for 2 people and very well located. Eventhough the bathroom or "showering area" is a little bit small, no one should complain about anything, as it is so cheap.
Our host Hatice ( and her cousin Nelly, whom lives with her) were both very friendly and helpful. The apartment is in an ideal location, a short 5-7 min walk to Taksim. The building however, is quite run down and the entrance to this small 2 storey complex was dirty and smelled heavily of cat urine. The room for rent was spacious with a big airy window facing a lane way, but was was not ready upon arrival at 7.45 p.m. Both Hatice and her cousin smoke very heavily, so not ideal if you loathe/or are allergic to cigarette smoke. The apartment is very small. The bathroom was cramped as it had the toilet and shower next to each other. There was also mold in the bathroom. Overall the apartment could have been much cleaner. No breakfast, but a very small kitchen to make simple food.
We really had a great stay in Istanbul. Hatice is a great host. The room is quiet, tidy and has everything you need. The house is close to Taksim squere, but in a quiet street.
We can really recommend the room to visit Istanbul! :)
Hatica is a very warm and helpful person, and quick reply in kommunikation. Her room is very basic but there is what you need. Maybe a light for reading could be nice. Unfortunately is was not cleaned when we arrived, Hatica promised to do it in the week-end but I think she forgot it. She is quite busy. Overall a big room close to Taksim.
