  • What a very good place to stay! Ketsuda and Stephen are wonderful hosts and help with everything. They were vital to my trip to Chiang Mai being a very good time.
They arranged for me to see a lot of the area and gave me great information on where to go and what to watch out for. They booked my cooking class and it was fantastic. They also provided me with a map and gave me directions to very cool places. Also booked taxi's for me when needed. They basically took very good care of me. I am traveling alone and it was very helpful. Made me very comfortable.
The room was clean. The ac worked well but it was nice and cool in the evening and morning. There was a refrigerator for cold drinks, clean water, and my insulin plus for leftovers from the street food vendors. TV for news and bedtime. Nice quiet neighborhood.
Suggestions are...some pillow tops for the mattress and a bedside lamp for easy on and off for late night reading. I have no complaints. The service they offer is priceless.

  • Oh my goodness!! Ketsuda and Steven are some of the most amazing people I have ever met! There are so kind and helpful, I'm so glad I went here at the beginning of my trip, they really helped me get my bearings in Thailand! Not only were the accommodations nice, so was the entire town, I really didnt want to leave!
So to all the Thailand travelers out there, stay here! I promise you it will be an experience you will never forget!

  • If you're looking for more of a local atmosphere for your stay in Chiang Mai, this is definitely the place. Clean, cheap, food is accessible, and the old city is within walking distance if you're keen. For more than a short stay, your own transport would be best.

What makes this place so wonderful are the hosts! Great advice, super helpful, and genuinely interested in making your stay exactly what you want.

  • Ketsuda and Stephen have been absolutely wonderful. Our bus getting in was late but they were gracious and happy to greet us. They have answered all our questions, and there have been many. They have provided us with tons of great recommendations on places to eat, things to see, and where we should go. They set us up with a great cooking class and are finding us a second one. Stephen taught us how to ride a motorbike and provides great rentals. There's wifi and filtered drinking water. But mostly they provide a really nice environment in which to stay. Hidden neighborhood is just outside of the city walls and is close to killer food (like right across the street). It's quiet and really does feel like a neighborhood. It's removed from all the backpacker guesthouses and allows for a place where you really fee like you're living here. All in all an excellent experience.

  • This is not my first time, when i'm staying with Ketsuda & Stephen. And it's probaby the best reference i can make, usually people come back only if the place is good :) Last time i was staying at another location they rent, and this one is as good as previous. Clean, cozy room, with fridge, hot shower, fan, air con, wifi and big bed, what else you might need :) Cheers, and see you next time. :)

CMStay - Website Owner
Hi, I'm Ketsuda, but most people simply call me by my nickname, King. I am a born and raised Chiang Mai(-ian) married to an American ex-pat. We raise three dogs and are soon to welcome our first child into the world! I started the business now known as CMStay in 2010 to fill a obvious gap in the local hospitality market. Nobody was catering to the real travellers and digital nomads of the day. Your choices were the big hotel with big hotel prices or cheap hostels with no privacy and dicey internet. Both were only prepared to take your payment, hand you the keys and that was it. At CMStay, our goal is to give you a running head start from the moment you arrive in Chiang Mai. We have spent the last three years doing our best to convey our local knowledge to new arrivals. From the best local eateries, where to get freshest fruits/veggies, places that cater to specific diets, different schools for Massage/Yoga, how to get around our city like a local, to setting up tours/drivers at non-tourist prices. The list goes on.... All units include BOTH WiFi and LAN, Cable TV, AirCon, working desk, Western style toilet, among other basics all travelers would appreciate. CMStay currently has two locations: CMStay @Baan Ouikum is inside the Old City walls and moat. Close to the Sunday market and the tourist center, but far enough to be outside of the noise. CMStay @Sethee Court is near the Saturday night market, Old Medicine Hospital, and SVG massage center. This location is close to the Old City, but set inside a local Thai neighborhood. I like to believe that we are great hosts, we are multi-lingual and have a strong knowledge base of Chiang Mai which can help with the nuances of traveling in a new country. We're always looking forward to meeting new people and maybe even being able to help a newbie find their way around. Most of all, we are always willing to try and help. If you have any questions/needs we are always happy to help!
