The Space

** NEW - Just added satellite TV service: CNN, Discover, kids, and movie channels! **

Experience Tokyo living in a modern luxury apartment near the waterfront. This apartment is located in Shinagawa, a major transportation hub in Tokyo. It has direct train stops for both Narita and Haneda airports (Haneda is only 15 minutes door-to-door!), within walking distance of 3 major train/subway stations (closest train station is 4 minutes walk away), the Shinkansen bullet train, and most major stops in the city are reachable within a 10-20 min train or taxi ride.

Our home is a rare gem in that it has a commanding view of Tokyo Bay from the living room - you can see all the way to Yokohama and Chiba... AND on the other side you can see Tokyo Tower from the bedroom/balcony. The unit is fairly new, offers a roomy 926 sq ft (86 sq m) space, furnished with high end furniture, and is on the 37th floor.

*** FEATURES ***

There is one queen sized bed, and the bed in the second bedroom is a comfortable full-sized sofa bed. A futon can also be laid out in the living room for 1 or 2 additional persons.

The apartment also offers the latest in premium living amenities including:

- free high-speed internet access and wi-fi
- flat-screen TVs (42" in living, 20" in bedroom)
- satellite TV: CNN, Discover, FOX, kids shows, and movies!
- connections to TV/stereo for your computer/tablet/phone
- fully equipped kitchen (fridge, microwave, gas range, pots and pans, plates, cups, utensils, kids plates and cups etc.)
- aircon/heater in living room, master & 2nd bedrooms
- HEPA air filters in living room & bedroom
- multi-featured Japanese toilet
- washer and dryer for clothes
- large bath tub with multi color light up
- hair dryer, iron, ironing board
- all linens and bath towels provided
- mobile internet device available for nominal fee
- large 129 sq ft (12 sq m) balcony with Tokyo Tower view

There is also access to other building facilities such as the ’Sky Lounge’ (view of Rainbow Bridge, breakfast service for nominal fee in the mornings), indoor pool/jacuzzi/sauna (300 yen/24h), karaoke (1,500 yen/3 hrs), gym (100 yen/24h), and bicycle rental (200 yen/6h).

*** THE NEIGHBORHOOD ***

Though it is close to all forms of major transportation, the Shinagawa seaside area where the apartment is located is characterized by wide walkways and decks which border quiet canals. There are some restaurants and cafes with outdoor terrace seating where you can take a coffee and relax. Additionally right adjacent to the mansion (1 min walk) is a small park which is great for families. There is a 24 hour supermarket and a cafe serving drinks, lunch, and dinner on the property itself for added convenience.

Once you reserve you will be able to check out our GUIDEBOOK in which we describe some of our favorite restaurants and stores in the area:

In addition to being able to experience the city as a Tokyoite would, staying at our apartment is often easier on the budget than staying in a hotel. In Japan, hotels charge not by room, but by person, so the costs really do add up (and usually for less than 1/3 the space).

We often travel the all over the world ourselves and are also avid users of AirBnB while traveling - we love meeting fellow travelers and are very happy to share all we know about Tokyo - don't hesitate to let us know if you need any help in your travel planning.

Please do include a brief introduction about yourself when you contact us. Thanks!

(The second bedroom is also available as a private bedroom for up to 2 people - please contact us directly for more details)

Guest Access

- Sky Lounge : with view of Tokyo Skytree, Tokyo Bay, Rainbow Bridge, Tokyo Disneyland (N, E, S view), breakfast in mornings
- Indoor Pool / Jacuzzi / Sauna
- Karaoke room : with the above N, E view
- 24H gym
- Bicycle rental : at the concierge desk

The Neighborhood

Located on the southeast area of central Tokyo, our neighborhood is full of parks and boardwalks along the water, as well as having quick and easy access to the popular spots in the city; such as Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ginza, Tokyo, and from Disneyland to the Tsukiji fish market!
24/7 supermarket with fresh groceries and kid-friendly parks are located at the base of the apartment complex, so you can not only enjoy the convenience of being in the city, but also relax and spend your time with friends and family.

  • The view of Tokyo bay from is apartment is simply amazing. No need to go to the top of Tokyo tower to enjoy this kind of view. The apartment is impeccably clean, modern and close to all conveniences: supermarket, monorail and shuttle bus to Shinagawa station. My kids like this place as the Tokyo Pokemon Center is just one monorail stop away.

  • This apartment is gorgeous and exceptionally well-situated to public transportation. Honestly, if you are balking at the cost -- don't. It is worth every penny to be so comfortable and at "home" in a foreign place. The proximity to Shinagawa station is key -- not just close to the subway, but also to the Shinkansen (high speed rail) and other trains. You can also bike easily to the Tsuskiji fish market, Ginza and other tourist places. The walk-to supermarket is absolutely KEY to your existence in Tokyo. The apartment is incredibly spacious for Tokyo and has all the amenities you might need. We stayed for 5 weeks, which is unusually long, and were able to cook meals, do laundry and pretty much everything else you would do at home. The building is very nice -- there's a pool and gym, and you can rent bicycles which are a great way to get around Tokyo. All of those amenities available with a small additional fee (e.g. bikes are $2 US for 6 hours). The only negative I would say is that the area that the apartment is in is not really a "neighborhood" -- if you've ever lived in NYC, it's like the Battery Park City of Tokyo. There aren't many restaurants in walking distance and it isn't a "neighborhood" like Ebisu or Hiroo where you exit your apartment and there are a bunch of cafes, restaurants and stores all around you. On the other hand, this means it is very quiet. It is really about what you are looking for in your experience. Also, the security in the apartment building is unusually high (e.g. can't enter building or use elevator without key). This meant you need to bring a key even if you step out for a moment (and someone else is home). I lived in fear of losing that key b/c if you do you are sunk. But if you are careful you'll be fine. We were delighted with the place.

  • This apartment and all the facilities around have made our stay here really pleasant and relaxing. Playground for kids, very convenient and helpful supermarket,... The apartment view is just a never ending show. You feel so good that you could prefer stay in the apartment instead of running all day long visiting Tokyo. Even if Reina and Kent we're not in town during our journey, we we're welcomed in a very pleasant way by Reina's family member.
If we have to come again in Tokyo, for sure we would like to be here again.

  • What a great first Airbnb experience. Kent and Reina were very responsive to all our queries for our first trip to Japan and even helped out with suggestions when our Kyoto accommodation fell through at the last minute. We were also able to have our wifi hub delivered directly to the apartment.

The apartment was very convenient for arriving into Haneda (short mono rail ride and 5min walk) and Reina greeted us with a warm welcome at the crack of dawn after our long flight.

The apartment was clean, spacious, had everything we could possibly need and what a fantastic view! The pool downstairs was lovely (I had it to myself) and our toddler had a great time at the large playground nearby. The 24 hour supermarket had a great selection of takeaway food (no cooking for us) and some western staples for the fussy child. We spent our evenings gazing at the view sipping beer.

The apartment was also very convenient for Shinagawa (either on the shuttle or a short walk) which in turn is very convenient for sightseeing.

Reina helped us onto the shuttle and waved us off. I wish we could have stayed longer.

    Many thanks Reina and Kent.

  • I stayed at the apartment with my girlfriend, elderly parents and my sister. The place was great and had all of the things that we could possibly need. Being winter the luxury of heated floor made that apartment a very comfortable place. Also there was a great supermarket nearby that was very handy. The shuttle bus from the apartment building to Shinagawa station came frequently and made it easy to get around.

  • We loved our stay at this apartment in Tokyo. The neighbourhood is quiet and the apartment very close to public transport, extremely convenient. Kent was a gracious host, and the apartment had all the facilities we wanted and more. Plus, as the ad says, the views are absolutely Gorgeous! I stayed there with my husband and two grown up sons, and from there went all around the city. I strongly recommend the apartment if you´re planning a visit to Tokyo.

  • Kent and Reina were just wonderful ! From the very beginning to replying fast the e-mails, with key and useful information, to welcoming us upon our arrival in Tokyo, they were always super warm and efficient. Reina waited for my arrival, and took her time to explain key points of the city, and how to get around. Their apartment is amazing. The view of the Tokyo bay is simply stunning. Specially when you are jet lagged and can enjoy the sunrise at fullest :D ! Also, they provide all facilities, and the apartment is super clean, comfortable and the beds are excellent. Wifi works wonderfully, and all the appliances in the apartment work perfectly as well. The building is ultra modern: swimming pool, fitness center, sky lounge... it feels a very cozy 5 stars hotel. We cannot wait to come back to Tokyo, and meet Reina and Kent again in our next trips. They are amazing. Thank you guys for being absolutely incredible to us. Hope to see you again soon. Best, Julia & Diego

  • Kent's flat in Tokyo is amazing, even better, bigger, nicer than on the pictures! The view is great, so is all the building with it's infrastructures. Last but not least, kent has been very helpful during our stay: a nice and warm welcome, good suggestions of visit, we wish we can come again and recommend with no hesitation.
