Montepulciano is such a small, quaint and cozy town that travelers can feel "at home" almost immediately and welcomed as a part of the community rather than an anonymous tourist in a crowded city. Yet Montepulciano is a perfect central location for day-long field trips to cultural and historic centers as Siena, Florence and all the other numerous classic destinations of central Italy!
Guests will access the quaint terraced garden with solarium and shaded areas for relaxation.

Montepulciano is a beautiful place with great views and I can't think of a better place than James's apartment to overnight there. We spent two nights there in July 2015. Apartment itself was really beautiful and clean and all the staff we met ( Giacomo, Maria and Giovanna ) were extremely nice and helpful. They really made us feel home and helped a lot with our delayed luggage. We warmly recommend James's place to everyone and we will definitely come back with better time when we return to Tuscany the next time!
Beautiful apartment, very well equipped and in a perfect location within a few minutes walk from the city center. We felt very much at home as soon as we arrived. Giovanna the housekeeper met us with the keys, helped with our bags and was super nice. We met James sister Maria later that day. Both of them were always there for us in person or by phone and did everything to make our stay sublime. Although we never met James we’re sure he’s just as nice. We also appreciated all the guide information available in the apartment to help us plan our time. The garden is a pearl as well. We highly recommend the Osteria Acquacheta in Via del Teatro, just a 2 minute walk from the apartment. If you come to Montepulciano, the Politian Apartments are the place to be. Thanks Giovanna, Maria and James we had a great time. When we come back to Montepulciano next year you will be the first we call.
James responded promptly to any questions that we had. While James was out of town when we arrived, Maria his sister was very welcoming and was full of useful suggestions on local attractions and about the region generally. Extremely helpful, she went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. A short walk from the Piazza Grande in Montepulciano, we would recommend this apartment without reservation. Parking was no problem. An authentic Tuscan experience!
Spent an incredible 5 nights in Montepulciano and Politan Apartments over the Christmas holidays. The charming apartment featured two large bedrooms with views of the valley, a living area, full kitchen...everything we needed to cook a couple meals on our own, including a traditional Tuscan Christmas Day dinner! It's an easy walk to town where a tour of the wine cellars is a must along with dinner at the towns many restaurants. Montepulciano also is a great central base for visiting other Tuscan towns: Pienza, Siena and Montetalcino included.
The apartment is very spacious, with a charming old palazzo feeling, and with a modern bathroom and kitchen at the same time. The location within Montepulciano is perfect, since it is accessible by car (basically the last building before the pedestrian zone begins), very central, yet very quite. We also enjoyed the option to use the private terrace/garden. Giacomo and his sister Maria are very nice hosts, very knowledgeable about Montepulciano and Tuscany in general and made our stay unforgettable. Thanks a lot!

About the Host, James
Buongiorno. I was born in lovely Montepulciano 44 years ago. Graduated in International Relations in London (UK) I worked for almost ten years within legal services of the European Community based in Brussels (BE). Since 1999 I run my own company in Tuscany providing marketing and property management to local estates and tourist resorts.
In 2012 I renovated my old family house in Montepulciano into four nice apartments and open the residence to those wanting to experience the living in a "Renaissance gem" village.
